Frozen to death (Aliara Cantrell)

Not hearing the constant sound of shovel penerating through the snow and ice made Bledrig curious. He turned his head and saw the girl leaving. Giving up already? Tch, shouldn't have trusted her in the first place. He then continued digging up the body.

When he had managed to dig the man up, he started dragging him to the other bodies. When he turned, Bledrig's jaw dropped. Where there had been only few bodies just half bell ago, there was now a huge pile of them. ''What in the...'' was the only thing he could say.

He walked to the woman, still amazed by the amount of bodies she had somehow dug up. ''How did you managed to do all this? I've been digging bodies for years and even I couldn't have dug these so quickly!'' Bledrig started to wonder if the woman had a secret stash of bodies.

OOC: I think that is enough bodies :D We can now start moving these to the graveyard

The man had finally noticed the pile of bodies, he was as thick as the ice he was lifting up. Aliara rolled her eyes and looked down at her fingernails. For someone who dug up bodies for a living Aliara would have assumed that the man hundreds of tricks up his sleeves but no. It seemed he had just been digging them up with his shovel. Pulling her gloves out from her pockets and slid them on.

“I thought this was your job? Haven't you ever considered hot water?”

Pulling her coat closer Aliara picked up the rented tool and chucked it in the back of the carriage, looking down at her kurki she slid it back into her boot and looked up at the man. Looking from the carriage to the man Aliara ran a hand over her face.

“I refuse to pull a carriage with anymore bodies on it, Im not being stubborn or anything but if you put much more weight on the carriage the wheels will break or maybe even all the bodies will fall off.”

Frowning deeply Aliara took the chance to sneak back into her house and put the fire out. Shutting the door behind her she half slipped, half walked towards the cart again and looked into the man’s face and raised her eyebrows.

“Well?”

Frozen to death (Aliara Cantrell)

Hot water? Hot water? She had managed to do all this with just HOT WATER?! Bledrig looked at the woman like she had just invented fire. ''I uhh... Never thought of that'' He inhaled some smoke and mumbled '' Good thinking''

He walked around the carriage to see if any of the bodies were badly placed. He shifted the position of few, it didn't make any difference, Bledrig just wanted to regain some of his pride as undertaker.

''Everything seems fine, lets give these poor bastards the sleep they deserve'' Bledrig started walking towards to graveyard, expecting the woman to follow. He tried to inhale some more smoke, but realized he had smoked all of the pipe weed. He emptied the pipe by hitting it few times against his leg.

Aliara stood for a moment and waited for the man to push the cart, but he just messed around with his pipe. Typical. Moving to the handles of the cart Aliara rolled her shoulders and cracked her knuckles. Sure she could do this, walk through town pushing a cart of people she had known, it seemed a bit sadistic. Lifting the cart Aliara found it was a lot heavier than it had looked, as she began to push she made sure to watch the sides for falling bodies, also to watch for potholes.

“C’mon I would like to get this over and done with, Where are we going?”

Assuming it wouldn't be the building the next door Aliara began to push, her muscles complained from the start of the season and she couldn't help but wonder whether her wounds would open up or not, they had been minor so Aliara mentally crossed her fingers.

While she mindlessly used her muscles Aliara had a chance to think about what she would have done in their situation, if she had to be honest she probably would have broken into someones house and just curled up. Either way would get you killed the question was which was the less painful way to go. Checking the road to the side Aliara continued to search for potholes but struggled to see whether or not the snow was covering a massive pot hole or just a small crack in the ground.

Aliara mainly kept in a sullen silence, she would complete her job then go home, ignoring all this old bastards comments and go clean herself of this grime and heartache. The main issue would be Aliara’s wounds opening up or her sanity either way tonight would be a hard one, her dreams would be filled with their eyes and they need for aid.

“What would you have done if you were them?”

''Where are we going?'' What an idiotic question. Bledrig turned to see the woman struggling with the cart. He thought for a while to help her, but she seemed to manage on her own, so he decided against it. He was after all paying her to help him. ''To the graveyard, where else?''

The rest of the journey they walked in complete silence, until the woman asked a question. Bledrig put the pipe in his mouth as he thought about it for a while ''Well, I would have done more than they did'' He pointed at the corpses with his pipe ''Anything really. Fight, steal, break into a house. Kill'' Bledrig sighed ''Why did you ask?''

OOC: Feel free to to make them reach graveyard, if you want.

“Because they had just curled up and accepted it, they didn’t break any doors down or even any windows…”

Aliara settled into silence and decided it was better not to think about it, what good could come from it? Moving her thoughts onto something else Aliara started to notice her muscles and wounds complaining from her incident earlier in the season. Groaning internally she tried to think of something else once again, next season the boats would be able to feely move about once more and Aliara had considered spending a short time travelling to Zeltiva to learn a few things from the wave guard or maybe even track down her distant family.

Thinking of her family was distraction enough and soon she found herself spying the graveyard on the horizon, it was almost over and she could go home and curl up in the depression that was today. Looking over to her client Aliara rolled her eyes slightly and increased the speed. This caused her muscles to complain once again but Aliara just want to go home and not think of how many had died.

Finally it was only a few steps from the gate and Aliara lowered the cart and rolled her shoulders, she was going to be sore the next day that was for sure. The graveyard was something Aliara usualy avoided, it wasn’t even where someone wanted to go if you wanted to dump a body. Looking over the crumbling headstones and layer of snow that covered the grounds made Aliara cringe. Looking expectantly at the man Aliara held out her hand and raised her eyebrows.

Frozen to death (Aliara Cantrell)

''That is because they didn't have will to survive. It is the only thing that keeps us moving. If you don't have it, well you are good as dead'' Bledrig laughed a hoarse laugh. They then continued their walk in silence. It was better this way, he never liked people who could talk pretty much about anything.

After a while they reached to the graveyard. Seeing it made Bledrig happy. The graveyard was almost like a second home to him. The woman stopped the cart next to the gate. Bledrig could see that she wasn't as fond of the place as he was. She then streched out her hand. Straight to the business eh?

He shuffled through his pockets before finding his money pouch. ''Three gold mizas as we agreed'' he said as he placed one miza at a time to her palm. ''Minus one from renting the shovel, as we agreed'' he said and snacthed one the mizas back to his pouch. The girl had dug up more bodies with the water than the shovel, but Bledrig wasn't going to lose a golden miza if he had a chance.

The graveyard was calling for her attention. Aliara couldn’t help but stare at the lumps of rocks dotted around the glorified paddock. How anyone could look at this daily was worrying, this place brought fear and depression upon Aliara in the few moments she stood there. The fear was the fear of the unknown, the where abouts of her father, the fact her mother is all alone, was the rest of her family alive?

Blinking and turning back to the man and her outstretched hand. He began to drop the coins in her hand Aliara made sure to count each coin so he would not rip her off. That was when he snatched on back.

Aliara held back a growl, that was no what she had meant when she had agreed with a condition but he hadn’t followed the terms. He was just a greedy old man who ate dogs and lived alone. Closing her fist around coins she held her tongue. The sooner she could get away the better. Smiling tightly Aliara slipped the coins into her boot, raising her eye brows.

“We done here?”

Frozen to death (Aliara Cantrell)

Luckily the woman didn't object Bledrig's actions. If she truly was a mercenary, he wouldn't have stood a chance. ''Aye, we done'' He then started picking the bodies off the carriage as the woman walked away. Bledrig could tell from her posture that she hadn't been happy with the deal. Oh well, it wasn't his concern.

The spade dug deep into the ground as Bledrig thrust it into the icy soil of the graveyard. This man would be the last. It was the same one he had found first alive. He had left him for last for some reason, he wasn't sure why. It was already getting rather dark and gloomy, but it didn't bother Bledrig. He had got used to it over the years.

''You certainly were a tough one. Not tough enough though, otherwise I wouldn't be talking with you'' Bledrig said with a chuckle.

Before pushing the man to his grave, Bledrig took the man's index finger's fingernail. He placed it into the jar that was filled with weird looking fluid. Next he started shoveling dirt onto the man and after he was finished, Bledrig said a short prayer for the goddess of dead, Dira.
