3rd Day of Spring, 515 AV

After hearing about the Lumishrooms from Ashryn, and how these aquatic fungi glow in the darkness Nivel had been seeking out company to witness this phenomenon. Very few felt comfortable facing the dangers and mystery that the night held just to see some glowing mushrooms. Seasons went by and Nivel had forgotten almost forgotten about her silly goal until Treachery the hideous beast of a squire entered into her life.

From the very moment she saw him she was filled with an insatiable curiosity and had began stealthy following him as he went about his business. After Sayana’s new years party where things went array as soon as the Zith entered the scene, Treachery became someone Nivel was determined to protect. She didn’t have the faintest idea as to why anyone would have a problem with the squire, but she wouldn’t let anyone harm him.

It didn’t take long for Nivel to figure out that the Zith was more in favour of Leth than he was of Syna. Being the ball of energy that Nivel was she naturally gravitated towards the day light hours, so there was clearly adjustments to be made. Although having spent so much time in the dusk, reminded her of the goal she had made seasons prior. As soon as the sun set Nivel was at Treachery’s dorm room waiting on her corgi mount Patcha for him to rise. She greeted him with a cheerful “goodnight Treachie!” before carefully and considerably offering him a chance to see the glowing Lumishrooms in the stream crossing through the woods of bronze.

“If you don’t have any plans tonight would you like to come see the Lumishrooms in the Bronze woods?” She asked using the sweetest tone her oddly deep voice could muster “No one else will go with me and they only glow at night..”

Nivel had a way of getting her way and whether he wanted to or not there was no way of getting away from the persistent pycon. Nivel had already wore down the poor kelvic into joining her on these nightly expeditions, even though the already shy kelvic was a bit afraid of the unsightly beast. Patcha quivered during the entire interaction and was ready to run for the hills if the zith made any sudden movements. Nivel had to constantly pet her little friend to keep her stationary as she convinced the Zith.
“I’m sure we can both handle what ever dangers the night has to throw at us, and I’ve sworn to protect you so your sure to be safe.” She continued before he had time to protest
“Patcha is extra thrilled to go too..aren’t you patcha?” Nivel turned her head down to gaze upon her mount who began to strongly look to her side in an effort to pretend what she feared wasn’t right in front of her.
“Yah she's excited.”

Moonlight Chaos (Treachery)

Postby Treachery on April 4th, 2015, 2:27 am

Treachery hadn't been expecting visitors that night. He certainly hadn't been expecting Nivel to be sat there waiting for him on her pet rat when he emerged from his room, half his fur still stuck at at odd angles and his hair a knotted mess. A weary blink was all she got before the pycon has began spouting off. The stream of common swam in one ear, past his awakening brain and out the other as the pycon mage-squire jabbered at him sweetly. Something about something and in the bronze woods and glowing or whatever. Debating closing the door on the wave of incomprehensible sound and it's source, the zith let out a yawn instead. It was too early in the night for this.

Realising she wanted an answer, Treachery tried to figure out how to response to his tiny friend. What was Nivel even doing up at this time? Shouldn't she be heading to bed like the other squires? Did Pycons even need sleep? They were made of clay after all. Anyway regardless of her reasons of being awake, she wanted his help. Possibly with something glowing in the bronze woods. And he would be able to hunt down breakfast at the same time too. That was a good reason to go at least. Slightly less confused and still half asleep, the whimper of the rat brought the Zith's burning red gaze down to focus of it. It looked as if it understood about as much as he did.

Claws roamed over his face, distracting themselves by combing out a particularly large knot in his hair. Grunting out a 'Five chimes', Treachery shut the door on Nivel and made for his hair brush. Starting at the tip of the hair, he clumsily worked his way up his untamed mane, growling where he encountering tugging. Eventually it passed over his head smoothly, allowing him to tuck it behind his ears before he brushed the rest of his fur over. Picking up his hair ribbon, it was held between his teeth as he stepped into his shirt, pulling the linen up over his hips and slipping his arms into the sleeves. That done, he moved on to fiddle with attaching his kopis to his hip, claws making the task awkward at the best of times.

Done with that he toed on his boots before leaving the room again. Fishing the ribbon out his mouth, the zith focused on the djed in his right hand. Closing his eyes, he felt for it's flow and everything that made his claws, claws. Pinching at the area and pulling his hands were slowly blessed with the appearance of fingertips. Letting out a long breath, his left hand scooped his hair into a pony tail whilst his now more dexterous right wrapped the ribbon about the clump. Wiggling the ribbon into a knot, both a hands tugged it tight before a second knot was tied. Job done, the zith relaxed his grip on his djed watching fascinated as fingertips grew elastically back into claws. Ignoring the dull echo of a headache forming from the prolonged holding of the model, Treachery returned his attention back to Nivel.

“Lead on.”

OOCSorry for the late reply. Also assume that Treachery is wearing trousers when he first answers the door. I should have probably made that clearer.

OocI'm sorry for the super long delay

Nivel didn’t take notice of the Zith’s confusion as she continued to blather on about the plans she had for the two of them. Having learned common automatically as she developed she had no idea that Treachery would have a problem with understanding what she was saying. From her perspective the beastly squire had perfect understanding of what she was saying like every other person she’d come in contact with.

After a bit of an awkward silence as Treachery fiddled with his knotted black hair, he grunted five chimes and disappeared behind his door. Nivel was a bit confused for a moment but it made sense after it lingered in her nexus for a moment. She aimlessly looked around as she waited for the tall folk to do what ever he needed to do. Nivel rarely took very long to get ready especially if she wasn’t taking Patcha so she wondered what was talking the Zith so long.

Suddenly out of no where Nivel sensed a sudden spike in djed near by, It felt strange but it wasn’t particularly potent. Clearly a novice testing their abilities but this was a bit worrying to think this was happening in the dormitories but then not all magic was as risky as flux or reimancy, it could have easily been some one preforming shielding or some other fairly harmless form of magic. All she could be sure of was that it wasn’t Auristics, if it was the pycon would have surely known right away.

Not long after Nivel sensed the magic, Tretchie appeared again with his previously untamed hair tied back with a pretty ribbon and his trousers pulled up.
“Oh” Nivel said in surprise as she was roused from her thoughts by Zith’s sudden arrival “ Okay follow me”
Nivel urged the Kelvic under her who was still scared stiff to start moving with some light kicks to the her furry sides. The Kelvic responded and headed down the dimly lit tunnels toward their destination.
The pycon suddenly turned her tiny head up to the towering furry mass that that walked next to her and carefully formed a question in her nexus.
Do you happen to know if you’re roommates with any mages” Nivel said hesitantly “I just sensed some thing out of the ordinary only a few moments ago”
It wasn’t really a secret anymore that the pycon was a mage squire so she didn’t feel the need to pretend like she didn’t have strange powers herself.
“I just wanted you to be prepared, since magic can be dangerous.”

They found themselves at the gate and while they got plenty of peculiar looks and even a few distasteful scowls, they were able to leave the gates with out much trouble. They were out in the crisp night air as soon as the gate was finished slowly creaking open. It was really a different world under the pale light of Leth and carried its own haunting mystique. Nivel took it all in before getting her nexus back to the mission.

She paused for a minute to try and remember where the stream was, everything looked so different at night. Her visual receptors caught the attention of a dying tree that was covered in moss and it sparked her memories.
“This way” Nivel said with a rapid swish of her tails. “I’m almost certain the river is this way”

Moonlight Chaos (Treachery)

Postby Treachery on September 20th, 2015, 4:46 am

OOCWe are as bad as each other for reply times tbh

The little woman seemed trouble when he returned. However immediately upon seeing him, some how, he saw her clay eyes light up with surprise before she beaconed him to follow. Watching her pet rat skitter away, Treachery followed at a casual pace, making sure to keep up with his tiny companion. Still drowsy, he stretched his arms over his head, a yawn escaping as he did. His wings had decided to join his arms right up until the point in which the zith remembered the torches along the walls. Shying away from the walls to walk in the centre of the corridor, he kept his head down, trying not to look at the flames. A cave didn't need to burn and while those of his colony disagreed with that, he would have to learn to deal with the smell of smoke.

Attention shifting back to the clay woman as she began to talk, his brow furrowed at the unfamiliar word. 'Mages'? What was that? As far as he knew his room mates were loud, smelly and terrified. Confused, Nivel's next statement had him even more confused. She had sensed something? But how? She hadn't been in the room and he hadn't heard or smelt anything out of the ordinary, except that the pair of shoes two beds down from his had become acquainted with poo some time today. Surely it couldn't be that? Becoming more and more confused, the Pycon's warning didn't help. Prepared? He already knew magic was dangerous. His teacher had warned him before they started that if he wasn't careful his djed could forget who he was. But why did the Pycon want him to be prepared? Realising he hadn't given her an answer yet. He made do with a shrug to buy him time to think before replying.

“I no know what Mages is. So no know if roommates is that. Confused though. You hear very good because I no hear thing at all. Yet you hear thing.”

Reaching the gate, the guards gave the zith a set of wary looks. Giving them a grin that showed a few too many teeth, a more timid one's hand went for their weapon as himself and the pycon were let out. They may all be part of the same colony now but messing with prey would never stop being amusing. Chuckling to himself, the zith rejoiced at the open air and the quick moment he got to stretch out his wings fully. They soon flopped against his back as Nivel peered about in the darkness. Listening carefully, the zith ears picked up various sounds around him. Turning and tipping his head about to better aim his ear, his focus shifted about. There was the normal nightly racket that the bats made during their hunts, a rustle of something creeping about far above his head to the left, the far away sounds of lots of water moving fast and the dampened sounds of Syliras behind him. Unfortunately the gentle breathing of any rabbits was inaudible. Grumbling about the stupid noisy bats, Treachery quickly followed after Pycon as she took them closer to the sound of water.

“oh” Nivel said in surprise as Treachery didn’t even know what a mage was. The pycon was so used to being the confused and naive one that it felt strange to be on the opposite end of the situation. “Well a mage is…someone that uses magic…Magic being…” She paused as she tried to think of how to properly explain the mysterious art. “A…way of doing things that should be impossible. Like controlling fire or punching some one from a distance.”

The following question made her a little more nervous, Since there was there was always a nerve wracking internal debate when ever she was questioned about her magical abilities. The pycon could never be sure how someone would act if they found out she was a mage, and she felt foolish for assuming Treachie would know she was a mage. If Nivel was to be friends with the winged beast, she knew she wouldn’t be able to lie. She took a deep breath and worked up the courage within her nexus and let the words fly.
“I’mamage” Nivel blurted out all at once. “I mean..I’m a mage…I sensed the magical activity in the room with my own magic. Don’t be scared though my abilities can’t harm any one..” She paused again as she realized that her flux abilities were all about hurting people, she couldn’t bring herself to divulge this information. It was so unlikely that she would be able to hurt him even if that was her intention.

After Patcha bounded through overgrown weeds and over thick protruding roots towards the mossy tree, Nivel paused to look for the next landmark that would indicate where she was to go. She was pretty sure it was a patch of mushrooms but she couldn’t see them even with her Autistics. It was likely that someone had picked them since her first trip to the river. She was certain it was mostly straight ahead but she would run into it quicker if she leaned west. She pointed the direction she needed to go for Patcha and Treachery’s benefit and after a few chimes she could hear water. What soon followed when they pulled themselves through the trees was sure to excite Treachery. The river had a few mild patches of erie glow that could almost be mistaken for ticks of the moonlight. As one approached the calm river, it was clear that the odd looking mushrooms hidden at the bottom were the true source of the luminescence.

“See Treachie!” Nivel pointed enthusiastically at the river “Isn’t it beautiful?” Nivel was sure her friend would be impressed but the strange phenomenon.

Unbeknownst to the cheerful Pycon was the fresh corpse of a man laying just beyond the cover of a large rock on the other side of the river. Patcha smelled it and began barking to notify her rider but Nivel only tried to shush her to avoid catching the attention of the monsters that lurked at night.

Moonlight Chaos (Treachery)

Postby Treachery on November 12th, 2015, 3:45 pm

Mages were people that knew how to wield magic? Interesting though he got more intrigued by her explanation of magic. People could punch people from a distance using it? Or more worryingly tame fire. Shuddering at that particular thought, Treachery brain took the next thing the pycon said slowly. Nivel could use magic? And she had 'sensed' something using magic like with magical hearing or something?! Nivel had magic hearing. Was that what the wing ears were for!? Suddenly in awe of his smaller companion, he didn't even note her reassurance that her abilities couldn't hurt anyone. Brain still conjuring up uses for her 'magic hearing', it slowly began to dawn on the Zith that his morphing might have been what she had sensed.

By this point her rodent had already taken Treachery's companion further ahead. Catching up to them when they stop for Nivel to look about. Was she 'sensing' where to go? What was 'sensing' like? He had too many questions. Did 'sensing' have the same feel as morphing did? How did 'sensing' even work? Could she teach him? Did the noise from the bats affect how she 'sensed' things? Could she sense any rabbits nearby? The Zith was unable to ask her any of these questions before she pointed the way the group was meant to go and set off. They were getting nearer the sound of water now, Treachery could already smell the whiff of damp earth from here.

Finally clearing the trees, the squire at last figured out why the Pycon had wanted him to come out to the woods. At random along the stream little glowing patches had scattered themselves in, as Nivel had exclaimed, a beautiful display. Confused by how this was possible, the Zith cautiously approached the bank. A claw trailed in the water for a few ticks declared that it was safe enough for him to stick his arm in and reach towards the glow. Grabbing at something, he roughly pulled it from the stream. It was still giving off light from between his claws, interesting. Now clear of the water, it became obvious that it was some weird type of blue mushroom. Bewildered, Treachery brought the thing closer to sniff it. The faintest hint of bitterness had him quickly had him holding the thing at arms length. Bitter was always bad when it came to plants.

'Beautiful. Yes, very but also probably not good. Smell bitte-'

A gust of wind threw the scent of freshly spilled blood into the Zith's nostrils, not just any old blood either the blood of his favourite prey. The mushroom fell from his claws on to the bank. Suddenly standing bolt upright, red eyes searched in the gloom for the smell's source. The clay woman's rodent began to bark next to him as well, obviously smelling what he did. Where ever the person was they wasn't this side of the river, else the smell would have been noticed sooner. They were also probably dead or unconscious too since there were no cries for help. Becoming frustrated when he was unable to locate where they were, the Zith mind recalled Nivel's sensing ability. Maybe she could find they with her magical hearing smelling powers!

“Nivel. Smell blood. People blood. Fresh too. Not sure where. You magic find it?”

“No!” Nivel spat out in mild panic as she looked up to see the Zith bring the mushroom to his fur covered face “The lumishroom aren’t for eating, it will make you sick. “ The pycon had been told this by Ashryn the herbalist and she respected her expertise in the matter. Although it seemed like Nivel’s warning didn’t matter because Treachery was already rejecting the fungus after he took a whiff of it. The pycon didn’t recall the fungus being that fragrant when Ashryn collected it, but Nivel wasn’t really able to get a good sniff.

It wasn’t until after Treachery announced over Patcha’s cries that he has smelled blood that alerted Nivel that it was clear the other squire had a keen sense of smell.
“Wait what?” The tiny mage responded in concern and confusion. “Uh..I’ll try”
Nivel activated Aurisitcs magic and was flooded with the sensation and sight of many active Auras. It was hard to sense with the large boulder in the way but she could feel a rapidly fading spark of life just beyond it and knew it had to be what Treachie was referring to.
“Over there behind that large rock.” Nivel pointed frantically to what she was referring to.

The stream in front of them was a bit to much for Patcha to handle, especially with a dense clay squire on her back. The kelvic could only whimper slightly in concern for the injured stranger. Nivel scanned down the path and amongst the glowing aura of the water and took notice of some stones that were sticking out from it’s surface. They seemed from this distance to be flat and close together enough for Patcha to traverse them.
“Treachie, you go on ahead and investigate, me and Patcha will cross over there.” Nivel pointed down the stream where the slight rock dam lay.
“Be careful though, what ever hurt that person could still be around.”

After giving her words of caution to her comrade she coaxed Patcha into riding down the river bank. The got to the rocks and suddenly the tiny Corgi froze and sniffed the air.
“What do you smell Patcha?” Nivel leaned down and whispered into her mounts large ears.
Nivel could feel a shiver run down the animals furry back and it worried her. The pycon suspected that they might not be alone in the woods and hoped that it wasn’t some kind of terrible beast.

The urgency to meet back up with Treachery became suddenly more apparent.
“Patcha..we can’t leave Treachie alone. He needs us.” There was worry in the pycons voice and Patcha picked up on it. The idea of being near the Zith again made the kelvic tremble but she wasn’t about to disappoint her Squire. Patcha took a few steps back, then ran forward as fast as her stubby legs could carry her. She leapt forward over the small gap of water and landed heroically. There was just the matter of the other five rocks she had yet to jump.
OocBeing alone with the body should give Treachery time to get caught in front of a bleeding victim. You can introduce your accusers or let me do it. it's all good.

Moonlight Chaos (Treachery)

Postby Treachery on January 11th, 2016, 5:37 am

The clay woman looked worried at his warning. Agreeing to his suggestion of using her magic hearing, the clay woman went quiet. Curious, Treachery watched her carefully to see if any noticeable change indicated how her strange ability worked. Nothing changed, much to his disappointment. After a few moments of silence she began pointing frantically to the other side of the stream, declaring a body to be behind a 'boulder'. Looking in that direction, the zith saw the rock she was on about though couldn't see any body beyond it, no matter where he stood on the bank. Nivel's magic sensing ability was just getting more and more interesting. The squire would have to talk to her about how it worked later on, for now though, they had a body to find.

Hearing Nivel's rat whimper next to him, the zith turned and listen carefully as it's owner spoke. It made sense given her small size that she'd have to find another way over. Though that also brought up the question of how he was going to get over, since he couldn't fly. The stream hadn't been that deep and it wasn't that wide either. Maybe he could jump it? Pulling his injured wing into sight, Treachery's gently examined it with his claws. It was as good as healed but still weak. Worry gnawed at his mind at what could happen. A short glide wouldn't do it that much harm hopefully but the squire wasn't going to risk the strain of flapping any time soon.

Backing up to the treeline, Treachery broke into a sprint. His legs protested the sudden demand for motion as the zith kept his wings close to his body. Reaching the bank, he put as much force as he could into the jump as he could. Spreading his wings out at the last tick, the zith flailed slightly in the air as he tried to balance his weight mid-air. Unfortunately the gliding didn't work out quite as planned as Treachery soon found himself sprawled on ground when his foot caught the edge of the opposite bank. Well at least he had made it. Getting up, the zith once again checked his injury over. It was basically the same as it had been. Relaxing, the squire got to his feet and began his search for the body.

The smell here was much stronger this side of the river. It was making him hungry. Wiping some drool from the corner of his mouth, Treachery's eyes finally found the rock. Rounding it at speed, the zith once again found himself the victim of gravity. What had he tripped over now?! Growling as he crawled to his knees, he threw a punch at the ground in anger. Huh? Looking where he punched, the squire realised that he had found the body. Beneath his fist lay the slowly cooling corpse of an adult male with short brown hair and large injuries across his torso one of which Treachery had accidentally stuck his hand into. Removing his hand from the corpse as quickly as he could, the squire checked over the body. The man was definitely dead, from this distance he would have been able to hear his heart beat otherwise.

Though the body was still warm, so he hadn't been dead long. It smelled good. The zith's stomach rumbled. He hadn't been able to have breakfast yet either. Maybe just a nibble? That thought vanished as soon as it appeared. No, Sera Kovan would kill him. That woman was scary enough when training him as it was. He was not going to face that woman in a real fight. Pondering over what to do, Treachery nearly jumped out his fur when a twig snapped behind him. Whirling around, he focused his ears on where it had come from. Sure enough, masked partially by the noise of the bats, something out there was breathing heavily. Slowly reaching for his kopis, the Zith stood to protect the body from whatever was out there.

OOCHope this is okay.

hidden behind the concealment of a tree and the blanket of darkness the man watched Treachery. The mans name was Caleb, he was searching for his brother in the woods when he spotted what he thought was his brother. The light of the lusmishrooms dashed that mans hopes by revealing the humanoid outline to be that of a horrifying zith. He bided his time with his sword at the ready in case the monstrosity was caught of guard. Caleb thought he had found the prefect opportunity as the monster hunched over what the human could only assume was it’s next meal.

He swiftly charged at it but stopped when the moonlight highlighted the facial features of the corpse. His thick brown eyebrows lowered in rage at the vile creature who murdered his brother.
“Face me you abomination!” He hollered into the night. “ I want to see your hideous face as I plunge my sword into your gut.” Caleb sword was held firmly against Treacheries winged back just above his leathery wings.

——

Patcha made the final jump on to the other side of the stream, and without hesitation ran towards the smell of death. As they ran closer, they heard the voice of someone yelling and they didn’t sound the least bit happy. Nivel knew it wasn’t from Treachery and the pycon couldn’t help but worry as she rode ever closer to her friend.
Nivel’s fears were realized when she saw a man holding a sword against Treachie’s back.
“Stop!” Nivel cried as loudly as she could muster “Don’t hurt poor Treachie! He’s done nothing wrong”

The man hesitated but didn’t revise the blade from the Zith instead he put more force behind it, causing it to slowly pierce treachery’s back.
“I don’t know who you are but surely you aren’t talking about this reached beast” Caleb didn’t bother looking at Nivel but judging from her manner of speaking he assumed she was a young and naive little boy “You shouldn’t even be out here boy, Zith aren’t pets they are murderous beasts and this one just killed my brother.”

“Treachie is not a murderous beast, he is a squire!” Nivel protested in defiance. “ He fights evil in the name of justice, and peace.” She paused for a minute before adding one final correction “Also I’m a lady, and a fine one at that!” Patcha backed to voice her agreement.

“What?” The man said in bewilderment as he looked back at the pycon accosting him. “Oh a pycon, should have known. Well tiny knight.. who exactly did kill my brother then? how can you be so certain you know this beast as much as you claim too?” Caleb wasn’t going to believe that a Zith could ever be a squire any sooner than he was going to believe a tiny pycon could.

“I just do!” Nivel yelled back with anger “ He was with me the whole time and I sensed with my magic that your brother was already dead when we got here”

“Likely story!” the man snorted, but he eased the pressure on Treachery.

Postby Treachery on March 17th, 2016, 7:04 am

Damn those bats. By the time he had heard the foot steps over their racket, there was already a sword pressed into his back. The next time he saw one he was tearing it's wings off. Freezing when the cold metal hit the skin under his fur, treachery dared not even breath. He was right next to his wings. Nope. Nuh uh the was not going through that again especially not if it was permanent. He'd rather drop dead than be flightless for life. Brain scrambling with the images of the life of a grounded zith, Treachery didn't even both translating what the man had said. He understood well enough the situation he was in though. A weapon aimed at his most valued limbs in a way that made it impossible for him to strike back, an angry person screaming at him in a language his brain wasn't ready to understand after catching him over the fresh corpse of a human. But he hadn't killed the corpse! Wrong zith! He had to get that across. Yet the words in common evaded his mind.

Breathing picking up speed, the zith almost cheered when Nivel appeared despite not understanding what she was screaming fully. Realising he'd have to calm down to get even a chance of the upper hand here, Treachery closed his eyes and focused on what he could here. The stupid bats came to his attention first, then slowly the more he searched he heard his own heartbeat, rapid and panicky, his breathing the same. He heard Nivel shouting at the man and the man shouting back. He heard Nivel's rat make soft noises and finally he heard the man's heart beat and breathing. Honing in on the breathing he tried to match his own tot he man's inhaling when he inhaled and exhaling when he exhaled. After all he was calm-ish, so copying him might make Treachery calm-ish too. Still shuddering at the notion of the loss of his wings but definitely calmer, the zith let his mind try to grasp at the common being spoken around him again.

The man was mocking Nivel, ha, as if pointing a sword at him wasn't enough to want to claw the fool's eyes out. He was asking her questions. Who had killed his brother? Oh! So the corpse was his brother. No wonder he was riled up. Treachery could remember a time when such a thing would have sent him claws out, questions later as well. His next question had the zith answer it sarcastically in his head though. Of course Nivel was sure. He had barely been gone from her side for more than a few chimes as she was so desperately explaining now. Hardly enough to create the corpse without suspicion besides they were both squires of the order; if Nivel didn't trust him, she at least trusted his patron to keep him in line. Rolling his eyes, when the man didn't buy it. Treachery slowly tried to think of a way out of this. He had been like this man, what would he have wanted if he was were this man stood now. The answer slowly dawned on him. Vengeance. A ploy concocting in his mind as the zith pieced together what he was going to say carefully.

“If you so sure, do it.”

The contact from the sword returned with some added pressure so quickly Treachery had to stifle a gasp. Okay, not the best ploy in the world. Urgh, gotta keep talking or he'd be skewered.

“I'm a squire. I no run away. No like what did kill you brother. That probably run away quite fast now. Zith good tracker and hunters. Could help. But if you okay with letting it get away that not my problem.”

Slowly the pressure lessened again reassuring Treachery to continue with his gamble.

“What are you saying, beast!?”

“If I done it, you can take me head back to me patron. Go on. Find out then that you let you brother killer escape. Or! You let me and Nivel help catch killer. You still no believe us after ward? Go on and stab me. I no run away from likes of you.”

The contact with the sword remained as the man obviously weighed up what he said. Holding his breath, Treachery spared a small glance towards Nivel to send her a reassuring wink and hoped beyond hope that he hadn't just talked himself into an early death.
