Dante enters the Sea of Grass

The Wilderness of Cyphrus is an endless sea of tall grass that rolls just like the oceans themselves. Geysers kiss the sky with their steamy breath, and mysterious craters create microworlds all their own. But above all danger lives here in the tall grass in the form of fierce wild creatures; elegant serpents that swim through the land like whales through the ocean and fierce packs of glassbeaks that hunt in packs which are only kept at bay by fires. Traverse it carefully, with a guide if possible, for those that venture alone endanger themselves in countless ways.

...The Animal Inside You, is no Match for the Demon Me...
Dante

Dante was unsure of following her for a moment, his instincts telling him to keep walking rather than agree to accompany Amunet. However, he did so cautiously, and before he really understood his own decision was on the mare's back with Amunet hugging him tightly from behind.

It was not very long before they were headed away, racing passed the green pastures around them as the ground blurred against the blue of the sky. However, as theride progressed, Dante was not truly focused on the scene around them. More so, he was committed to the touch Amunet had on him. No one, especially a woman, had ever wrapped their arms aruond Dante as Amunet was doing. In a matter of moments, Amunet had done what Dante once thought an impossibility for a man like him.

Compassion was an emotion he was unaware existed. A foreign, perhaps even extinct perception that Dante had always been blind to. Yet here he was, choosing this girl over the suicide he had started on, with no why or reason to it. He hoped that the gods were not playing him for a fool once more, and his heart raced with a pulse he didn't think it was capable of.

As the bells passed, they suddenly slowed to a halt as shadows appeared against the darkening horizon. A man stopped them, riding on top a strong looking horse much like Amunet. They spoke quickly in Pavi, Dante only able to catch a few words at most. He heard his name, but remained on the horse and motionless. This was the scene where he was most familiar with, the moments where a wrong word or move could mean his life or worse.

Another man came from behind the first, silencing him. Dante noted that power, and focused his eyes on him until Amunet pulled herself from the horse. Helping him off, Dante positioned himself strategically behind the bulk of the horse, just in case they wanted to make a attack on him while Amunet spoke.

Her smile spoke wonders to the anxiety building in his chest, and the fear that maybe he had made the wrong choice was stilled just for a moment. "Blessings to you, Dante." she spoke gently. Dante returned the answer with his eyes before she galloped away. Leaving Dante n the care of strangers he understood off the bat, were not going to be as kind as she was.

He placed his left wrist over the hilt of his blade once more and eyed the oncoming men he urged their mounts forward. Positioning his feet in a rough square just in case the men were in no mood for talking. The demons inside his soul awoke, and Dante's heart hoped it could keep them at bay with the new strength that young girl had given it. Dante's green eyes had a spark now.

End
