Fiachra has been confused for a Chaktawe by those who are less familiar with the race, largely due to her nearly black eyes paired with glossy black hair. Closer inspection however reveals that they are merely very dark grey, as many Ravens are, though she has no visible sclera.

Due to a tendency to shun clothing when she can get away with it, and not wearing more than necessary when she can't, 'Chra tends to be fairly tanned all over.

She is slightly lanky though still feminine, of average height, her hair is shorn asymmetrically in the front and is often slightly disheveled looking.

Four thin scars can be found on her upper arm from where a Chained One raked her with its nails.

Character Concept

Fiachra does not yet have well developed life goals or even a particularly complex personality. This is largely because she has not bonded.

She is more intelligent than many unbonded Kelvic, simply because it is in the nature of a Raven to be intelligent and curious. The main issue is application. If it is not novel, if it is not fun, she is likely not going to do it. The thought of being a labourer in the field like her parents, to do the same thing in the same place every day is about the worst thing she can imagine.

Any one place only holds her attention for so long, particularly if she does not find a suitable bondmate. Both her own inquisitive nature and the driving need to find a proper bondmate mean settled life does not suit her particularly well, for all that she is trying, since it is the correct way that human live.

Character History

Fiachra does not have a particularly colourful past, yet. Her Kelvic nature was a surprise to her human parents, two labourers still living and working at the Mithryn Outpost, who still have no idea which of them carried the bloodline. Though they love their daughter, they don't quite understand her, and the extreme speed with which she matured further distanced them from her. While their relationship is amiable, she does not see much of them, and all parties involved are all right with this.

Being by nature extremely curious, it is no surprise once fully grown and ready to leave the nest, Fiachra headed for nearby Sylaris. She didn't spend particularly long there before hearing a piece of advice, or warning depending on how you look at it. 'Don't go to Sunberth'. So of course she had to see what all the fuss was about. so far, while more interesting than Syliras, Sunberth too has been lacking her bondmate.

Fluent Language: Common, AvianBorn to and raised by Labourers of the Mithryn Outpost, Common is 'Chras first language, though her Kelvic nature grants her an innate understanding of Avian speech as well. Being a Raven she can get the gist of what almost any bird is saying, bridging the predator/prey gap, though it is true Raven-tongue is better suited for cursing out and laughing at other species than holding an eloquent conversation.
Basic Language: TawnaAs 'Chra is often mistaken for a Chaktawe, it is no surprise that upon venturing into Sylaris and coming across the odd member she took an interest, often following, listening and later impersonating. This was only exacerbated by her finding out about Eywaat. She doesn't worship him, or really understand what he's about, and clearly Ravens are superior to Crows in every way, but a people who worship the God of what she sees largely as little brothers can't be that bad. It basically means they ought to be worshiping her. Her feathers are lovely and glossy after all! Her Mastery is rough, she understands more than she speaks, her grammar and sentence structure are often wrong, but she can usually get her point across.
Poor Language: NariThe Inarta very rarely venture into Sylaris. When they do, they make something of an impression. Certainly they did on 'Chra. Ravens are still better than Windeagles, though she might secretly wish she was large enough to bear a rider, but she was quite impressed with them. Whenever one is in the city, unless they are particularly stealthy, it is not unusual to see a black Raven somewhere nearby, trying to appear nonchalant. Because the language is more Avian than any other, 'Chra has picked it up more easily than most, but since her opportunities to hear it in practice are few and far between, she knows very little. She likely could not follow a conversation and would often be frustrated trying to express herself.

Erik made me a template! Now I am fancy pants!

Chatting, Toc-toc, Whirr

Lookit this cool height comparison!

In Progress PostHe seemed properly impressed with her Raven-self, which earned him a few points in Chra's mind. She saw heself as fairly average when she was human, but she was quite taken with her own bird form. Peoples tendency to confuse her with the Sunberths skull-crow population meant she didn't get nearly the admiration she might hope for, and people were more likely to throw things than praise. It was really the one aspect in which 'Chra could be considered vain.

Bobbing her head once in acknowledgement of his thanks, 'Chra beat her wings, taking off from the table, grabbing the makeshift pouch of coins as she went. It was fairly heavy, but for a short flight it was more than manageable. Unthinkable for long distances, but the hop from cafe to the roof several streets over where her clothes were cached away? No problem. Perhaps longer goodbyes were the norm, but to her mind, their interaction was not ended, merely paused. She would do the map he'd requested and then the interaction would be picked back up upon the Drunken Fish. Plus what creature of Caiyha had ever been one for drawn out goodbyes?

She flew for a few minutes before landing on a roof she used often. Changing, she dug her clothes free from the thatch that sheltered them. Wrinkling her nose in distaste for a moment, she pulled them on. Coins were transferred to pocket, rag and all. It helped muffle any clinking that might have drawn undue attention. This done, she let herself down into the narrow space between 'her' building and the one next to it, scrabbling rather ungracefully, legs first over the edge, holding on to the roof and scooting back until she hung from it. This done, as close to the ground as she was going to get, she let go. Bending her knees as she hit ground. It wasn't a perfect landing, but she didn't fall all the way onto her arse again so that was something.

Spring in her step
