Bottles And More [Beodan]

The Konti kept silent for a few seconds. She carefully looked at him from head to toe, trying to understand his words. Why would he speak as if he understood the predicament as a Kelvic? He didn't say it directly, but did he just imply that he was a kelvic as well?

"Huh?" she asked almost comically. Her eyes were wide with amazement and confusion. "Are you...? Huh?"

Nira'lia gave a soft laugh. She couldn't believe how tactless she was, but she was grateful that her friend didn't appear offended. Thank goodness for that.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't even realize! No, no, it doesn't bother me in a rude way... it's just unusual because not all cultures, including mine, are as accustomed to it. It depends, really. I think even the Svefra don't care too much for clothing." the Konti said. Her eyes were back on the road now as led the way and turned a corner. The shop was now a few turns away, and it wouldn't take long until they made their way there. However, she was much more focused on the conversation. Something in her urged to take a quick look into his chavi. She was so curious to discover exactly what animal he was! Restlessly, she looked at him and just went ahead with the bold question: "What kind of Kelvic are you, Beodan?"

Bottles And More [Beodan]

The grin that had split across Beodan’s face at her bewildered expression quickly turned into a rumbling laugh that had him covering his mouth and wiping his eyes. It was times like this when not having any obviously animalistic features, like the feline Kelvic’s slitted pupils, worked to his advantage. In this case for a good bit of amusement! Just when he had begun to sober, she asked a string of incomplete questions, and more that enough ‘huh’s to last through the day. He managed to merely chuckle as he responded with a sound of his own, “Mmhm!”

Nira’lia joined in his mirth for just a moment, until their laughter naturally subsided. She apologized, which had him tilting his head to the side, not knowing quite why she was doing so, "I'm so sorry! I didn't even realize! No, no, it doesn't bother me in a rude way.. it's just unusual because not all cultures, including mine, are as accustomed to it. It depends, really. I think even the Svefra don't care too much for clothing." Dan rubbed his chin, his brow furrowing. That did make sense, but he had figured as much. It was why most people here wore clothing all the time, even though it was quite temperate (as far as he knew). Nothing could compare to the simple pleasure of the sun warming your back, or wind caressing you as it passed lazily through the trees, or grass between your toes… The list could go on. That reminded him, he would have to ask if she had soft feet! He had a theory that the more people wore shoes, the softer their feet got, so they would have to wear shoes more often. It was a horrible cycle bent on deadening all the wonderful sensations one could get without bits of leather tied to them.

Realising he needed to respond, he waved off her apology, “No, it’s quite alright! Most people can’t tell just by looking at me. And besides, bringing it up is like telling someone that I have a stomach; it’s just who I am.” He smiled benignly, “You should walk without shoes in the forest, if only to have a little taste of that kind of freedom.” He closed his eyes briefly, to allow the stone walls and noise surrounding them to fade away as he imagined himself in his lovely little clearing. “What kind of Kelvic are you, Beodan?” she asked, in a tone that suggested she had been holding off asking ever since their conversation had paused a chime ago. He scratched the back of his head, a little embarrassed at the attention, before shooting her a small smile and replying, “My other half is a horse, of course!”

Bottles And More [Beodan]

Postby Nira'lia on January 22nd, 2016, 10:17 am

The Konti gave a slight frown as she imagined walking through the woods with bare feet. She imagined the twigs and the sharp rocks… and it actually did not seen that appealing to her. However, it made sense to her that he would enjoy it. After all, he was a horse!

She mused that horses would have liked running around in empty fields or so as well--but she didn't know a lot about horses, and settled on the thought that he indeed must feel very confined in such a crowded city.

"That is very fascinating," she said with a grin. "Who is your partner? Does he or she live in the forest with you? Oh, I suppose they are also into herbalism!"

If she remembered correctly, Kelvics often had partners. Or were they called bondmates, or something else? Again, she didn't have that much knowledge about the topic.

The familiar facade of the Inner Fire Glass soon came into view. From their vantage point, there didn't appear that many people in the area. Still, there was the usual cramped feeling that the city always had. A few Knights made their ways past them, donning the armor and emblems that described them as the city's protectors. The Konti was careful not to make eye contact. She had no reason to do that, but their stature always made her feel intimidated and uncomfortable.

With a grin, Beodan’s lovely company asked, "Who is your partner? Does he or she live in the forest with you? Oh, I suppose they are also into herbalism!" Her smile, mixed with questions about his favorite thing on this earth, was so infectious that he found himself cracking a smile of his own before she had finished speaking. With an expression that made it seem he wanted to bounce up and down rapidly, he replied, “Oh! Her name is Moxie! We sort of trade off living spaces. I need to tend to my plants, you see. She certainly is getting more and more into it the more she works with me, it’s wonderful!”

They came up to the glass maker’s shop just Dan’s gleeful exclamation had left his lips. He looked at Nira’lia with new eyes, comparing her to his bondmate. “You actually look a lot like her! She is just a little bit shorter, and with eyes of an enchanting violet with little flecks of blue…” he trailed off, his eyes glazing over a little. He grimaced as a pulse of pain tickled his heart. Their bond was relatively new, and being apart from each other was like stretching fabric too far. But it was something they had to do; it would only bring them closer when they reunited. Joy filled him when his bond send waves of comfort across their link, though he could feel a hint of the same pain from her as well. “You two share a dreamlike quality to your features,” he said, locking his gaze to hers with a small smile, “She says it’s part of being a Konti, and maybe so! You’ve made being Dreamlike two for two on Kontis I have met.”

The Horse Kelvic pulled the door open and waved Nira’lia inside with a grin. He let it shut behind him as he followed her in. His jaw dropped. Glassware of all types and colors was, while ordered neatly, covering absolutely every surface and spare space a shelf could be put in the large room. Talk about having stock on hand! The maker probably never left the forges, if she made all this. He picked up a cup with swirling greens and showed it to his companion, “Look! Isn’t it pretty? All of my cups are boring clay ones. This glass is amazing!”
