I think it would be a good idea to start off as them joining one by one since, if they already knew eachother, they would have joined one by one nonetheless. It would also develop the ties between the PCs more. It could also be a group flash back so it could be both.

I agree with Coba and Serenity in that it would make the most sense to have the group members filter in one by one, most likely via flashbacks. Also, how are we going to handle group decision making? Are we going by majority rule, or is there going to be a leader who handles that sort of thing?

So we're a pre-formed group, or we form in the present?

If you have a group of six children, would it not be more plausible that you have a loose form of democracy, with one or a couple children who the others respect to make general leaders of sorts. While they're tough enough kids to survive street life, they're not adults. They won't conform absolutely to one ruler. From my experience with small, evil things anyway.

Maybe we could have a few people we respect to make general decisions but if most people disagree the group can go against the "leader".

For group organization I see it going one of two ways. Either the loose democracy that has been talked about before, or, if there is a distinct break of ages, a pseudo family group. Being abandoned/orphaned for various reasons they could want what they see some other kids having, and if there are one or two older to a few younger then the older one(s) could act as a parental figure to provide that semblance of family.

As far as the meeting of the group, I prefer the idea of meeting as of current, but either way works for me. Course, that is assuming this takes place in Ravok and I'm involved.

There is also the possibility of existing family ties (I.E. two of the members being actual siblings) though I'm not sure if that would affect the group dynamic in a negative way. But it seems that a few things have been agreed upon: Ravok looks to be the favorite choice for the city, netting us Alenias in the process. As far as group dynamics are concerned, the idea of a democracy with one or two "figureheads" (Chosen leader/parental figure etc.) to help give the group a sense of direction/security seems to be a recurring preference as well. I like the pseudo family spin that Alenias mentioned, it would add a layer of depth and believability to the group. I would like to see what Derric has to say though, especially since this group was his idea. Once that is taken care of though, I think we could move into the character development stage, unless anyone else has anything they would like to add?

Speaking of existing ties, in Alenias' backstory I specified a Treanas as a child of the street who had taken Alenias in and taught her a bit about being a thief. I didn't really have any plans for him, so if someone wants to take up that role you're more than welcome to.

How much info have you already written up about this Treanas? Are there flashbacks involving him? I must admit, I'm half tempted to steal him (for use within said group of course ) Also Vick, none of us are posting with the characters we would like to use at the moment (except Alenias)

Currently all I've got for Treanas is his name, a little bit about him in Alenias' history, and a quote, "Sharing food is good, because there's always more. Just don't share much else," from him I pulled in a current thread. From Alenias' viewpoint, Treanas has been missing for a good period of time, but I didn't specify what he was doing, or what happened to him.
