Veldrys' Home
Perched on the Tenten peak, not far from the Bharani Library and the Catholicon, was the home of Doctor Veldrys Vervain. The path that led up to to the house that was directly attached to the rocks was steep, but that did not matter to the Symenestra who was used to climbing nearly vertical surfaces and would at least deter some of the people that bothered the few other members of his race that resided in Lhavit.
The house was made of stone and decorated with small quantities of skyglass that shimmered almost as brightly as the crystals in the caves that surrounded Kalinor. It consisted of two rooms, the Symenestra’s living quarters and his laboratory where he grew herbs and created his salves and potions.
As far as private residences were concerned, it was perhaps a little more luxurious than the average house in Lhavit. Long drapes of jewel colored silk covered the walls and also separated the living quarters into two parts, his bedroom and the room where Veldrys cooked, ate, studied and prayed.
The furniture was new and of an acceptable quality, and there was a proper hearth rather than simple firepit like in the houses of the poorer citizens of Lhavit. Soft carpets covered the wooden floor. In a corner stood a small, carved table with an offering bowl where the Symenestra spilled his blood in the name of the god that had once marked him.
On the inside Veldrys’ house looked almost like one of the houses in Kalinor, but the door was of course not on top of the building, and it did have windows whereas the houses in Kalinor usually had none.
