The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

90th of Spring, 516AV

Syna's light was still just beginning to strengthen in the sky as people in the city below scrambled in their preparations for the festival. The various Tents seemed to already have been built. However, they seemed to be key waypoints for the workers who were going back and forth with supplies and decorations. There was a general thrum of excitement and busy energy hanging in the air as if the city itself couldn't wait for the festivities to begin.

Izuyanai dodged fellow caterers who were already flying every-which way and managed to hail down Alhea who was busy manning the headquarters.

The area had been set up with a colorful canvas stretched out overhead and acting as an airy roof. Long wooden tables had been brought over from somewhere and had been dragged into a formation that sectioned off part of the inside as where bartenders would work. Crates littered those tables and countless stacks of chairs were left unattended. Decorations were haphazardly unfinished. All in all, the Drinking Tent still had a ways to go until it was functional.

"I'm glad you could come, Izuyanai. Congratulations again. I trust you'll be able to help us out here as well," Aleah said with her soft smile.

Even amidst all the hustle, she didn't seem to lose her ethereal calm. If the raven wasn't mistaken however, the proprietor did seem brighter.

"Of course. Is there anything in particular that needs to be handled?" the kelvic replied.

"Supplies are being brought in by some of our workers and volunteers, but as you can see," she waved her hand toward the mess, "we appear to be short on people putting the place together."

Giving an assuring nod to Aleah, the raven immediately pitched in to help set the place up. Or as soon as she could, anyway. Blindly taking on the nearest task would be foolish as there was so much that needed to be done. Izuyanai also knew she had a inefficient habit of wanting to do everything by herself. While she didn't trust everyone, there were so many other people whom she may as well utilize.

From what she saw as she moved further into the shade of the tent, it was probably best to split the activity into three major groups. A group to bring in supplies, which was already being managed. Which left a group to set up and stock the facilities of the tent and a group for decorations to be managed.

At that moment, a voice rang out from behind her.

"Hey, do you know where this goes?"

It was a young man, boy really. Looking rather windblown from what must have been more than a few trips across the peak. He was holding onto a medium sized crate, which showed faint glowing through the opened top.

Forgetting the initial question completely, Izuyanai fought becoming mesmerized by the softly glowing orbs she had caught sight of. "What are those?"

"These?" he said, taking out one of the glass containers and holding it up for her inspection. Contrary to her initial impression, it wasn't the glass that was emitting light. Rather the smooth white stones encased inside of the glass creations. "They called them opalgloams. Imported straight from Kalinor."

He looked a little proud of himself. As if she would be impressed by his expertise. Perhaps he didn't know that he'd given himself away by his use of 'they'. No matter, she had captured a resource.

"You can leave those with me," Izuyanai held out her hands. "I need someone to unpack and start arranging the bottles that are arriving. Think you can handle that?"

With a grin and a quick dash, the stranger was among the supplies.

Left with the crate in her arms, Izuyanai lugged the bulky thing over to a comparatively more colorful section of the tent where decorations were gathering. A fresh delivery of flowers, a chaos of paper decorations, and a little more of these opalgloam filled orbs.

Under the pretense of fixing a hook attached to one of the orbs, the raven unlatched the top and slipped a particularly well formed stone into her palm. Tucking the stone away in her vest pocket, Izuyanai quickly moved onto the next matter of the decorations. The stone was for...research. After all, now was not the time the be using up energy on Auristics. Not yet anyway.

Unceremoniously grabbing several of the more sturdy looking workers she directed them toward a new task.

“Could you get all the supplies off the counter and to their respective areas? Decorations here and bar supplies to where that young gentleman is working over there.”

Gathering a few glass orbs, Izuyanai herself went along what was to become the bar, setting down some on the table and hanging others overhead. The light they gave off was dim, even in the shade of the tent. Though the raven suspected they would reveal their full potential as soon as night fell. All around her, preparations continued in earnest as she recruited more and more people to accomplish different tasks. It was more difficult than she had expected. The slightest miscommunication would result in a poor volunteer making an unnecessary errand run. She had to watch each activity out of the corner of her eyes to make sure they were being done to her satisfaction.

Still, even in the chaos, the kelvic had to admit it was enjoyable. Stepping back to take a proper look at the place, Izuyanai was pleasantly surprised to see that the tent looked much more presentable. Flowers now adorned various corners and counters. At least, those which had survived the excessive flower crown weaving of the local children she had enlisted. They were now running around in anticipation of the festival, bright blossoms in their hair and around their necks. It seemed to work, though they were being used for a different purpose than intended.

Candles and chairs had been set up in anticipation of the evening. Along with the glass orbs, the candles would provide the perfect light for the occasion. A number of chairs had been carried away from the tent to be lined at random throughout the vicinity. At the moment they seemed oddly out of place, but when she consulted Aleah, Izuyanai was assured that the festivities would hardly be contained to the Drinking Tent.

Her workplace had seen a definite improvement as well. An abundance of supplies were lined neatly at opposite ends of the area. Dragging a chair over into the shade, the kelvic perched herself on it and observed the last dregs of activity being completed. Places which had been churning with movement gradually calmed as people dispersed until the festival began.

She ended up waiting and resting with Aleah and Roric until the beginning of the festival was announced and a trickles of people began arriving at the tent.

When the festival's start was announced over at the main plaza, Izuyanai could hear the loud cheers of many excited citizens. Customers started showing up in earnest, in one's, two's, and sometimes in a whole gaggle of friends who sent the Drinking Tent into a frenzy of orders. To think it was still early noon.

Exchanging drink tickets with wares was easier than when the money actually had to be counted out. It spared many customers from Izuyanai's unfortunate math skills that would have gotten all the more scattered as countless tasks called her attention. There were orders to be filled, glasses to be cleared away, washed, and then sent out to the milling throng once more.

Izuyanai forgot to keep the bells in mind and it wasn't until Aleah shooed her out of the Drinking Tent for a break, that she got to roam the festive peaks.

Lhavit was quite an attractive city even without the festival, and the addition of lanterns, colorful streamers, and decorative flowers made the whole place look like somewhere out a dream. Outside of the radius of her Tent, Izuyanai could see the colorful canopy above the dance floor and hear distant music floating through the chatter. The Okomo also seemed to have pitched in to make today's event a memorable one. A few were standing patiently next to their caretakers, allowing citizens to clamber onto their backs.

Izuyanai circled the peaks, planning her final destination toward the main plaza. If she remembered correctly, she had been invited there at around the 11th bell to receive some sort of recognition. It was a perfect opportunity to boast humbly and she couldn't imagine why anyone would pass it up. Perhaps she should expect to run into her fellow adventurers at the ceremonies.

She and a few others stepped away from the gathered throng as the host welcomed them to come forward. Pleasantly scented crowns of woven blue flowers were placed on each of their heads as a speech about the adventurer's bravery and contribution rang out across the plaza.

Izuyanai recognized the unmistakable form of the goddess Zintila, as she too, commended the citizens for stepping up in a time of need. Zintila's being seem to radiate light even under Syna's rays and her beauty and poise fitted that of the gods. The crowds formed around the tier cheered in unison for their benevolent deity and their voices signaled a new swing of activity in the festivities.

Even as she graciously accepted the slips that were drink tickets, Izuyanai's eyes were trained on the Alvina until the temporary heroes dispersed and she too, returned to her post at the Drinking Tent with the crown of flowers to herald her part in the mystery of the fountain.

oocI did include the appearance of the Alvina as the calendar noted that she would be present. However, I hope it is acceptable since I did not control the diety in any manner outside what the storyteller had in mind.

Notes

Nice job thread! Since you were only doing your job in three posts, I couldn’t give many xp though. If you were looking for more, you could’ve described the decoration of the tent and coordinating the different work groups in more detail.
