The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

31st Summer, 516AV.

Amelia was not often charitable. She firmly believed that good things came to those who worked hard – this despite the fact that, until recently, her luxurious lifestyle had been funded by her father and not her own efforts. But then again, she had fulfilled the role of ‘Perfect Daughter’ pretty well, having only a handful of diva-like tantrums every season (and really, who wouldn’t sulk when their father refused to buy them a must-have coat?). So perhaps, in her own way, she had done the hard labour that meant she deserved the extravagant lifestyle.

All that changed when Cliff Trisswell, her otherwise doted and loving father, admitted to having an affair with a girl a mere season that his own daughter. He subsequently left Lhavit with the slut in question, taking with him his impressive income, his expensive possessions, and the general high standard of living that Amelia had grown accustomed to.

This change in her lifestyle, if anything, made Amelia even more unforgiving towards other people also down in their luck. Poverty was due to laziness, hunger was due to bad financial management, and the worse sin of all – bad style – was due to ignorance and stupidity.

Though she could do little for the first two problems, Amelia was convinced that her own good taste in clothes, make up and all things beauty could of great benefit to mankind. Thus, she had set up a small table outside of the Silk Palace, her usual place of work, on which lay several swath of different materials, different colours, different make-up types and the necessary tool. There was also a small sign, which she had tacked onto the table top, which reading:

TODAY ONLY! FREE MAKE OVERS AND STYLE ADVICE CURTESY OF AMELIA TRISSWELL-BARKER.

The seamstress stood eagerly behind the table, her golden hair styled in an immaculate braid that trailed over her left shoulder. Green eyes were lined with black kohl on the upper lids, flicked at the outer corners in a classic cat-eyes style. Even Amelia’s lips were lined and dyed a faint pink that complimented her pale skin tone. The dress she wore – one of her own designs, of course – was baby pink and featured an A-line skirt that showed off her slim calves and upper thighs. She looked quite lovely; and Amelia knew it.

Ornea had starated to work early in the morning and round noon rest Edward Lucis had ordered her to take a few bells off. He had told her to referesh hersel and relax, and as Ornea always obeyed his orders she had dutifully taken a quick shower at Zinthia Rest and brushed her hair, before she went for what she thought of as relaxing; a long outdoors walk in the city.

The Inarta's hair was very red indeed. She was slim and short of stature but fit and somewhat muscled due to her job. She wore a simple shirt and pants of greybrown cotton, her working clothes. In the workshop she used aprons, so the clothes were only slightly stained. Her hands beneath the rolled up sleeves were protected by gloves when she worked at the foundry, but it was still easy to see that they were the hands of a working woman.

When she saw the sign it struck her that style and fashion advice could be useful for her ambitions to get integrated in Lhavit. So far she hadn't embraced the city's fashion, as she liked Inarta clothing. But maybe it was time to take the step.

She strolled over to table where a well-groomed blond young woman stood waiting, with an eager expression on her face. If it was possible she wanted to get the free makeover and advice!

OOCI took it you meant this as a sign up so I made it short. Feel free to continue as you find best :)

Classless to Couture

Urkut wasn't one to frequent the Silk Palace- and not without reason. It was an expensive place, with fancy, billowy clothes that restricted movement and slowed a person down.

If I ever got killed by a Myri-cursed dress, I'd have someone's head on a silver platter lined with that silk.

And yet, here she was, stationed outside the Silk Palace, watching with growing interest as a petite young woman set up a small stand. The stand advertised for free makeovers, and despite Urkut's insistence that makeup was for the vain and the weak, she did love her own war paints. She loved lining her eyes with kohl, creating a dark and intimidating look, and the tattoos on her body couldn't be considered anything other than aesthetic.

The first woman who visited the stand was also well cared for. Her body was strong and dressed in practical clothing, as though she had just been working. Whether this was true or for show, Urkut could not discern. She was short, small, with a body that kicked out in places she knew would make men drool. Urkut nearly rolled her eyes, but contained herself. There was no doubt that the little redhead was just another arrogant rich woman. She didn't need anything free- not like Urkut did.

Finally justified in her plans, Urkut slunk forward, approaching the stall quietly. She glanced around, searching for the supplies that might be used in silence. She saw kohl on the woman's face, which was a good sign, but the rest of the makeup confused her.

Couldn't she find anything better to do with her time? Perhaps Urkut could recommend something a little more...worthwhile to her.

OOCPoor Amelia. This one is gonna be fun. :p Evening or early night would probably work best for Urkut, although I'm pretty flexible.
