The fact she could see exceptionally clearly on his face that he was still trying to piece together the truth. Or at least what was fact and what was simply conjecture. At his comment about the doubts he held she couldn’t help but close her eyes with a knowing smile. “It’s hard to believe I know. After all when I’m at work I’m at work. Nothing will pull me out of that. And when I’m at play I’m at play. And right now i'm playing with you. Same mentality just a differ source of where I derive my entertainment from.” She glanced across as the glass she had was filled once again with the same deep ruby red liquid that she’d been supping on since before Garland had even walked in.

“I don’t even really need this to sustain myself. But some habits are hard to break in all honesty.” She spoke lightly as she lifted the glass to her lips and took another long sip. “And I can tell you believe the truth of the matter, even the thought of it has that twinge of fear creeping into your face.” Though as he inquired about how long she’d been here she sighed.

“I’ve had enough time to piece memories together. Of who I was before I died. And that’s why the words about the time before hit so hard. I was a hundred and twenty years of Age when I passed. It wasn’t natural nor a disease No it was something…Else. Still haven fully figured that much out. But that was as far as I can tell a good deal of time before the World sundering event that dropped me from my lofty home.” She paused again a deep sadness and heavy melancholic tone seeping into her words. “As for how long I’ve been around in this world, like this. As of the thirty first of summer, it will mark four-hundred and forty seven years on this plane once again.”

“And yes, Leth is bright this night. Though I fully expected the ground to be blanketed in sheer white. Seeing Morwen shirk her duties is a strange turn of events after all. In all of my years she’s never shirked her duty once. And I’ve had some cold summers in my time.” She spoke again trying to lift the pall she’d cast upon the conversation. “Though I must admit, my skills with a hammer and a flame have grown ever so rusty over the last few years. Perhaps I’m not pushing myself enough?” She shifted again lightly crossing her legs and layering am arm over her abdomen as she softly circled her finger over the rim of the glass. “Where do you stand on this Vantha matter Garland?”

Garland couldn't help but feel a bit childish asking someone their age. Although the entire chat had become rather somber, Cyrene seemed to want to keep things as light-hearted as possible.

Garland heard Cyrene say something he didn't quite catch, he shrugged it off as some old saying or a phrase from another language. "Work is work and play is play. I understand, I have a bit of trouble keeping them separated."

Garland simply listened to her speak, silent like he was when he was helping her work the forge, but this time without as much fear as before. Even telling a sad story like hers, her voice just seems beautiful.

If Garland had a mother growing up, he would think this would be her voice if she sung him to sleep at night. Instead he worked himself to sleep, staying up later swinging his sword in the yard.

Then there was the topic everyone was talking about. "Morwen, there have been rumors of why she hasn't come through this year. Some say Avanthal is in danger from something, others say the seasonal gods are fighting, but my personal favorite is that Morwen just got tired of us mortals and just took a break this year, although I doubt it, I do find it amusing if she was just sitting on her frozen throne while the world panicked because winter's not coming."

And now the controversy of the issue, the Vanthas. "The knights... Haven't said anything official yet, but I think they're on the side of the hunt." Garland's look grew dark and took another deeper swig of his ale. "Personally, I'd say we keep them out of harm's way. I doubt killing the followers of the Winter Queen would make her want to spread her white cheer, or maybe it will, a bit too much even... I wouldn't be surprised if next spring, summer, heck maybe even next fall we'd be perpetually in winter. Angering a god is never a good thing for us mortals, the last time that happened the wor-err..."

Garland let that sentence die out and instead he just downed his drink. He was feeling a bit tipsy now, but he could still see fairly straight.

“I can tell, it’s evident from the way you initially introduced yourself when you walked in. At least in a fashion.” She spoke in a rather joking manner wanting to keep the whole situation above board. The rather dumbstruck look upon his face had a rather endearing quality to it. Despite the fact of the matter at its heart.

His summations as to what happened and what the rumours as to why Morwen hadn’t stepped out from her icy throne to walk the world once more was enough to let her know that he wasn’t a man for conjecture nor his own particular machinations. And as usual those hold up in their ivory towers were more willing to side with those who had come with an explanation that pained a clear adversary. Even when a good deal of the knights themselves were vantha.

However his closing comment wasn’t one she lost her particular ear on. Shooting him a look that potentially could have cut the glass next to her. “I wouldn’t particularly joke about things you weren’t there to catch the tail end of. But in all honesty when you mess with someone who has a spark of the divine…You’re asking for trouble.” She lifted the glass to her lips once more consuming the final drops of the crimson liquid within. Thankfully things such as alcohol didn’t have a large effect upon her but that didn’t mean that she had to abstain from it.

“Garland, I’m willing to pay you back for the indignation you suffered yesterday. Even if it was your own lack of understanding that caused it.” She smirked and stepped to stand up her dress shifting and now as she stood at her full height she towered over Garland and if one were to add her horns into the Mix then it would be clear to see that she stood at a total height of just under six and a half feet. Without the horns just over Six feet. “If you’d be so kind, I could use an escort back to my lodging at the herald’s arms.” She offered her hand to him both as a means to help him stand up and to offer the invitation.

“Though please do try to keep down anything you’ve eaten.” She spoke with a small joking tone yet behind the words it spoke of a multitude of times which she’d been the unfortunate recipient of a unwilling or at the very least unwanted return of someone’s lunch.

"I wasn't joking, I would think Morwen would possibly get back at the other gods for killing her people." Garland just looked down into his mug, worried more than anything else.

He had asked himself the question of 'Would he fight a god' the answer had been yes if given sufficient reason, would he survive? Of course not, unless another god intervened, there was little reason for him to believe a god would take pity on him.

Garland followed Cyrene with his eyes, taking in her beauty, and her height. He felt small, and right now, very inadequate. "Miss Cyrene, I would be more than happy to take you home." Garland could feel the drink kicking in a bit.

The previous day's events seem distant now, like his public indecency didn't really matter and he would do so again if given enough reason.

He got up, and she was almost a head taller than him. "Well..." Garland pouted at his height, but shrugged it off, Garland went up to the bar and place down a gold miza and three silver mizas.

Garland held the door open for Cyrene. "Don't worry, I'll keep my lunch down, I usually vomit after my fifth mug then pass out at the sixth. I've tried to cut back because of... family."

Garland held out arm, hoping Cyrene would hold on to him. She didn't need to of course, but it was a gesture that Garland seemed to enjoy. It made him feel gentlemanly.

“I know. What the gods get up is often the down fall of those born mortal sadly. However as it’s been proven mortals can slay the gods. Just depends on the weapon.” She gave a soft and almost cheeky smile. When garland rose up before in her Isur form he’d been a good few inches taller than her, now she completely towered over him. He small look of being distraught over his height was something that she could understand. And as such simply let the word hang in the air.

“A little too much information Garland. Perhaps you should tone the wording down?” She spoke as she stepped through the door having already paid for her first glass when she initially entered. At the word family Cyrene’s eyes widened just a tad.
“You’re a family man? Then what are you doing out her in the middle of the evening? Should you be at home with the lady in your life, and any children you may have?” She spoke half in jest half in stark honesty keeping up an even pace with him and as he offered his hand she should have accepted it but the difference between them might have pushed him even further down the path of feeling Inadequate.

The arrival at the heralds arms wasn’t too far off from the Rearing stallion. Perhaps a few chimes walk but given the amount of people who usually saw a lone woman staling the streets heading to a place where one of the premises was “companionship” was a highly suspect thing to do. Even if she did feel somewhat safe with her own skills and Leth’s glow. Right now though It was nice to just simply share the company. It’d been a long time since she’d even really spoken to anyone in great detail. Or at great length.

Stepping through the doors of the heralds arms Cyrene greeted the owner with a small nod and smile pressing her fingers lightly into her forehead to pull a few strands of loose hair from her face. If Garland tried to leave the building she’d simply say in her smooth and musical voice. “I didn’t say you had to walk me 'just' to the building did I?” Before heading up the stairwell slowly. Taking careful steps to keep her dress flat against the back of her legs trying not to show off quite too much. Her hands trailing up the railing in a slow pattern. Leaving Garland to make the decision. Would he follow her up? Or would he turn and spend the evening with his family. What was more important to him?

"I don't have a wife, she... left, I have kids though, twins, but... They're in danger... There was this man, a knight.... Well... ex-knight that tried to sell a whole group of squires and a knight to slavery, me included."

Garland paused as he thought about that faithful day. "I sacrificed myself to get the other squires out, the one good knight got taken along with me, took out a good few of them before I went down though..."

The two walked down the streets, having the moon shine down onto Cyrene made her glow a soft white, her skin took the moonlight like a thirsty man to water and Garland couldn't help but stare at her in awe of her beauty.

He snapped back to attention. "Where was I? Right, I was captured... Had a friend there, she found me rather than actually there to rescue me, she essentially bought me, and we escaped, she stole her money back, I rescued the slaves and the knight, all was good."

"Petching Greveth..." Garland muttered under his breath. "I almost made it back, we split up by that point, my friend and I that is... And then that bastard that sold us out came in on a horse, I almost had him, but a search party found us before I could kill him. He spun his tale and because he was a knight and I was a squire, they believed him. Got thrown into The Tank."

Garland felt his hand tighten into a fist, he was trembling now. "Squires don't have homes, and I was their only relative, they were put in the orphanage and everyone knows that, I asked my patron to take them away the night I was put in the Tank, and when I got out they said the traitor came looking for them, now they're hiding, I see them from time to time when I ask my patron to meet me somewhere, I wish I could be there but... I need his death to protect my family."

When they finally reached the Herald Arms, he was about to leave before he was called back. He had no where else to go really, he needed company, another stiff drink, or a good brawl, and he could only have one.

Garland followed her up the stairs, his joyful mood had turned sour, rage was bottled up inside of him, but he still had his composure, though just barely.

Greveth needs to die... soon...

The walk back brought her a better understanding of what kind of man Garland was. Not a particularly bright man. But a loyal one. Loyal and for lack of a better term brave.
“I can honestly say there aren’t too many people of your calibre in the world. Most people would think about defending themselves or getting just those they know out.” She let her voice flow in that usual melodic state almost trying to console him. Still though his long pause wasn’t lost on her in the time spanning his next set of words. “Careful if you leave your mouth hanging open like that you never know what might fall out.” A knowing smile playing at the corner of her lips. Still though his story continued on and it was one she’d heard all too often. Someone betrayed by the ones they trusted. The ones they thought they knew. At that moment there was a small itch between her shoulder blades. Distinctly uncomfortable but something that she didn’t want to think about.

“So your kids are in the orphanage with what’s going on and about the city?” She spoke with a soft word of concern. “It’s worrying but then again don’t you have anyone you can call for help? Send a message to?” her words flowing like a simple stream. A stream of conscious that came from a source of logic. Upon entering the Heralds arms it was his lack of being able to hold himself together and the fact that what he felt was written upon his face so clearly that had prompted her comment.

As she reached the top of the stairs she picked up her pace ever so slightly to give her some time to get ahead of him and enter her own particular room. Taking the opportunity of a few moments to leave him with a bit of a surprised shock. Slipping her dress off of her and her undergarments but leaving the stockings and her high boots on her awaited the knock at the door. The moment his knuckles made contact with the wood she’d open it without a shred of embarrassment.
“For a few ticks there I was wondering if you’d actually have the nerve to open the door.” She smiled and reached a hand out to grab him by the shirt and quite literally almost yank him off of his feet into the room. Quite literally almost throwing him clear across the room and onto the bed slamming the door closed with the other hand. “Consider this a form of apology for leaving you hanging out in the open in the forge.” Standing before him her arms crossed beneath her bust accentuating it slightly and her feet open in line with her shoulders. Giving him a few moments to collect his bearing she’d speak with a tone ever so slightly closer to her Isur form.
“Are you waiting for a written invitation?”

Garland followed Cyrene up the stairs and when he made it to the landing, he saw her go into one of the room and quickly shut it. Honestly, he was wondering what they were going to do, she was flirty of course and that was on the forefront of Garland's expectation, but if she really was Quinlain, he didn't think she liked him very much.

Maybe she'll just make sure he'd keep his mouth shut about her two forms. He knocked on the door and waited for it to be opened, when it did, Garland's mouth was agape in absolute shock, a bit of glee, and some terror if one looked closely enough.

"Ah? Woah!" Garland was grabbed then thrown into the bed, like a ragdoll. He didn't expect that in truth, maybe from Quinlain, but not from Cyrene, her body did not much her strength.

"I-It's no troub-" He trailed off, being distracted when she crossed her arms. "I-um..." He felt he was back at the forge, he felt like it was Quinlain in front of him not Cyrene.

“Are you waiting for a written invitation?”

He found himself 'stand at attention' at that, he felt his pants tighten at that and so he looked up from her chest for confirmation. He started removing his own clothes until he was in his underwear, a visible bulge poked up.

This isn't your first time, you've had like three times now? Was it two? Oh gods, she's four hundred years old, she has more experience...

He swallowed the lump that was forming in his throat and removed his undergarments as well, his mini-Garland was 'standing tall and proud', the full-sized Garland was still shy and felt like a virgin right now.

The look of shock on his face was precisely what she was after. She may have been in a different form but some of her characteristics transferred over. Watching him swallow his words or at the very least fall over them was amusing to say the least. Not once did she shift how she stood until he finished disrobing like he had in the forge the other day. Though this time he didn’t even bother to try and hide himself. She didn’t move much instead taking a step closer it was just fun to watch him squirm.

“I thought you were a little more confident than this Garland?” Her voice carried that musical tone but was much more commanding, almost demanding. Her right arm slipped out from beneath her bust and motioned over to his face to cup his chin lightly lifting it to look her in the eye. She could see all the worry all the shyness and all of the apprehension there and then began to slowly trail her fingers down his chest. “Where’d all that bravado go?” She kept trailing her fingers downwards running them over his abdomen and then stopping just above his pelvis.

As she did she took her other hand and placed it on his shoulder. Before running the tip of her index finger over him. Letting him know this was real just in case he thought it was a dream. “On your knees Garland. If you’re going to be this shy then I’m going to be taking control.” She spoke again that line of command in her voice that baled no rebuttal but still came out like a soft musical tone. She pressed her fingers into his shoulder and dug her nails in lightly almost willing him down with that alone. And the moment he did she’d take the opportunity to press her foot on his equipment before doing as she’s done in her other form and commanding him with a single word.
“Lick.”
With that the night would continue on deep into the blackness of the night. Leaving the heralds arms with a familiar series of sounds, most of them fit to make most of the staff members blush and only two or three of the multitude form Cyrene herself.

Garland woke up with a start, had a strange salty taste in his mouth, and a roaring headache. His vision was blurry and he tried getting up, only he couldn't.

His vision started becoming clearer and clearer, until he could see where he was positions, he stared down a muscled figure of Quinlain, he had a content smile on his face, then sudden realization and horror.

His arm was trapped under her bulky body, which he had to admit he couldn't help but enjoy the view. He slipped away and stood by the bed, and gave a few stretches of his sore limbs, some places he didn't even think could have been sore were sore.

Garland knelt down near the sleeping Quinlain. He gave a small kiss on her forehead and picked up his clothes and threw them on.

Garland walked out the room and found a receptionist of the Herald Arms. "Can you bring up some breakfast for two to Ms. Quinlain room." The man nodded and he went back to the room and sat on the bed.

She's lived for so long, she'll live longer, don't get attached, this was just another one-night stand... You're just a friend...

He then noticed his backside really hurt, and then he spotted the hammer in the corner. "Oh...."
