Eda could not help but let a shaky sigh escape from her lips as they met, forehead to forehead, his hand hovering over the softness of her neck. So far it seemed he did not want to pull away, and she was glad. She had never felt like this before. She had never had this feeling of everything just melting away and her mind focusing so intently on just one thing. Before it had been his soft lips moving against hers, now it was the pound of breath along her lips and their foreheads resting together lightly. Just sitting there with him, now, alone, quiet was perfect. Absolutely perfect. She could not help but close her eyes, focusing only on what she could feel.
Eda shivered slightly as his warm breath passed out over her mouth and skin, and she would have replied explaining why she needed to apologise, but Kayiri pulled away. She opened her eyes, intent on complaining and telling him to put his head back, but he moved closer to her again, speaking lightly into her ear. She was shocked, utterly shocked. She knew that he had responded in full to her kiss, but it seemed highly unlikely to her that he would want more. It was her first kiss, he had held the reins, it seemed entirely impossible that he had enjoyed such an unskilled kiss. "But, I'm not that good--" Her voice cut off mid-sentence as he turned and pressed his lips again to her cheek. She signed as he rained down kiss upon kiss, his lips resting lightly along her cheek, her cheekbones, until finally, they arrived at their destination and pressed a slow, tantalising kiss against her lips once more.
She thought of pulling back again, of asking him why on earth he would want to kiss such an inexperienced immature girl such as she - but for once, a more self confident version of the young girl kicked in. She berated herself - if a strong Drykas warrior whom she liked intensely, and who seemed to like her back equally, wanted to kiss her, why should she complain and scare him off? He seemed to have stopped for the moment, his lips lightly touching hers, his eyes not entirely shut, and not prolonging the kiss at all. It was as if all of a sudden, he was not sure. But all of a sudden, Eda was. She wanted him and she genuinely liked him. And she wasn't scared anymore.
She pulled back a tiny bit, a small smile gracing her lips. "I really, really like you, Kayiri." With that crucial piece of information released, she leaned forward yet again and pressed her lips firmly to his, dancing her tongue along his bottom lip, begging entrance. Chills ran down her spine, but not of cold in the winter chill, but of joy at what was transpiring. |
