Annoyance was the closest word that she could think of at the current moment. Swatting at the air, her hand missed its target, again. With a furrow of a brow, she glared daggers around the room daring the little pest to try again.
Just as quick as it came it flew off again with a laughing hum of wings as it buzzed her in the face, just to prove that she was no match for its speed. “AGH! YOU STUPID THING!” Both hands swatted around widely as though she’d officially lost all sense. Anyone watching would surely think she had. Hair whipped around as she shook her head back and forth, hoping that her trendles could do the job that her palms couldn’t.
All she wanted was some semblance of peace and quiet as she worked. With another quick and daring dive bomb the pestilence did it again... and again. First, her ear and then bouncing off her forehead.
Shooting out from her seat, the wooden chair shot out against the rough floor and clattered to it’s back with a loud complaining screech. It’s legs raising to the air like a dog on its belly waiting for a scratch. Fire stormed around the room. Pacing back and forth she looked for something that she could swat at the persistent nuisance.
Grabbing up a sandal she sat with a huff on her bed, scanning the room, as she waited for it to try its tricks again.
Not even a few chimes later, it came back with a vengeance, first into the eye and then, what she could’ve sworn, was dancing in her hair. With a loud thwack, quickly followed by a hand rubbing out the soreness, the shoe landed on her head. Unfortunately, upon inspection, the flat came up fruitless.
