The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Two redheads are better than one

Postby Raeyn on October 3rd, 2018, 10:06 am

Fall 50th, 518 AV

As the season hit it’s midpoint and so elegantly glided past it, Raeyn would grow certain that it was going to go down in the memories of his history as one of the better ones all things considering. Hard, as it was, to remain a miserable git when surrounded by such fine company as the Guild of Hunters. For in the warmth of the inn and fuelled by booze, the happy-go-lucky atmosphere was infectious. One would certainly struggle to maintain a sour mood.

Natural, as it was, Raeyn had found himself gravitating to the very most unpleasant of the hunters. None of them were perfect by far, but Liard had proved himself the worst of the very worst. A double edged sword, of a sort. For however much his antics and his spiteful comments infuriated Raeyn, the Inarta also loved the man for them. If a decade wasn’t enough to change him, nothing would. There was beauty in that.

Whether by wonderlust or by relentless naging, Raeyn had found himself suckered into a hunting trip outside the walls of the city at the side of his comrade. ‘Just like old times,’ he’d say. Well a few things changed since then that was for sure.

But with the sunrise came a knock on Raeyn’s door and a sunlit, smiling face behind it. Anditicipation saturated his very greeting. “Aeyup! Morning ladies.”

I had been years since the old, dingy walls of Raeyn’s appartament had seen these many souls congregated all at once. In fact, has it ever? For the moment Li’s cheerful self appeared in the doorway, accompanied by the smell of pipe smoke, Mara was the first one to come to greet him with a brief hug before being on her way to work.

“Good morning, Liard.” Smiled Sasha who sat just an arm’s reach away, leaning back in his chair, still visibly sleepy. He was polite enough, albeit a little cold, knowing little of his predecessor who hadn’t the habit of frequenting their humble abode. Trust in his other half had to suffice for quenching the little sparks of jealousy he felt knowing the next few days would be spent alone due to this bastard.

As for Raeyn himself, he had just about managed to get his kit ready, his arrows nested snuggly in his quiver, his bow in hand, the spear in his other. The heart of a hunter, yearning for the outdoors, was excited at the prospect of the adventure to come. On his way out the door he left Sasha a loving kiss of a parting gift before falling in line with Liard’s step as the two redheads made their way outside the city gates. A good day it was to be a hunter.
