| Winter 78, 510 AV She entered the large training area she had made by creating a circle of dirt with some archery targets made of hay and obstacles for her horse. Her large black and white warhorse walked up next to her as she took off the side bags from the saddle and hung them on a post on the cheap wooden fence. She strapped the quiver to her back and mounted her horse holding her bow in the right hand and the reigns in the other. She normally liked to either hunt on horse back or in her other form, so she wished to train on horseback most of the time. Gripping the reigns, she decided to start with the basics of her riding her steed first. Kicking the horses side, he started to trot around the pen, making a clicking noise with her mouth, she signaled him to go faster till he was cantering at full speed around the pen taking the turns hard and making large dirt piles around from his hooves digging into the dirt from the harsh turns. As they came around another turn, she quickly pulled the reigns to pull him to the middle of the ring quickly. This movement was to sudden for her new mount, so he kicked back and neighed loudly as her feet came out of the stirrups and fell onto the ground. The horse bucked a few more times then slowly calmed down and stopped. Slowly getting up, she rubbed her backside and went and picked up the fallen arrows and bow, then walking over to her horse and patting the side of his neck looking into his eyes and smiling. She knew it would be hard to train such a large beast but she wanting to ride him to his full extent and become the closest she can to this animal. Getting back onto her horse she decided she would try the same maneuver again, this time she would succeed. As it came to the turn point, she bend over, her backside not touching the saddle took a slow breath and pulled the reigns. At that moment time seemed to slow down, she could feel the horses feet digging into the ground, his heart beat and his breath were in sync with hers. The horse took the turn and kept galloping on, a smile grew on the corner of her lips but she remembered the fence a head of her and she quickly pulled the reigns again, but this time pulled back on the reigns "Whoa boy!" The horses hooves stopped in the dirt and dug a trail as he slowly came to a halt. She let out a large breath and she patted the horses neck again. |
