Syndre was use to avoiding many things, mostly feminine slaps and the
eyes of the watchful Ebonstryfe. He couldn't tell you off the top of his head
how many times something had been throw at him, whether it be ill intended
weapons or in this case, a piece of frosted cake. On numerous occasions he had
been inebriated, so his quick reactions to escape danger in this state had
become instinct trough practice. Slipping off the cool rail, he managed to
elude Nydryn's vengeance for the most part, though slightly getting grazed upon
his features by the dessert. She was having fun, and her light laughter proved
to him that this was true.

A hazy gaze watched her, accompanied by a never ending smile. The bottle of
crimson wine was brought to his mouth and a short swig of the potent alcohol
was taken. Her small form stood close to the balcony railing, his glossy
pools of blue studying her every movement while gently setting the glass
container down against the white stone. He wondered with his infinite curiosity
what she was thinking, what type of thoughts were flitting through her clouded
mind. Since he wasn't telepathic and couldn't work her like he could a puzzle,
he decided he would instead disrupt her thinking.

The intoxicated rogue moved with careful steps back to the carved railing,
his proximity invading any personal space that she may have enjoyed. With his
body turned to face her, his left hand had risen to her fair visage, the warm
touch of his capturing fingers splaying softly along the slant of her jaw. He
guided her head sideways so that the attention she had recently given the
dark canal was now directed to him. Peering into her depths of blue, the thief
used the opposite hand to extract a fingertip full of frosting from his cheek.
The decedent glaze transferred from the tip of his finger to the fullness of
her bottom lip, slowly spreading the sugary substance from one corner of her
mouth to the other.

No words were spoken, just the deep tilt of his head that brought him ever
so close. His tender mouth parted and surrounded her lower lip with a sudden
sensation of warmth, drawing gingerly until her moistened lip slowly escaped
the bold seizure. He allowed her to take a breath, the tip of his tongue
peaking from between his lips to taste the sugar he had just stolen. The pause
was very short and after licking the sweet flavor away, Syndre's mouth returned
for more. His left hand slid away from her jaw line and into the recesses of her
golden hair, accompanied by the right hand which mimicked the action. Controlling
digits ran with languid ease through her honey hued tresses as second kiss was
delicately applied.

They were approaching the end of the Winter season and the cold air was
strangely comfortable, a gift from Rhysol to the citizens of his city. The cool
air caressed their skin as they occupied the open balcony, making the lingering
kiss they shared that much warmer. He didn't free her from his brazen affections
this time, the touch of his soft lips working in an experienced manner, as if he
had plenty of practice in this sort of activity. The comforting path his hands
had taken led his fingers completely thru her short golden locks, and now their
soothing glide had reached the top of her slender neck. They traveled further
downward while the drug influenced kiss continued, adept fingertips tickling
a trail along either side of her pale throat.

Her gaze had been over the murky waters beneath the balcony before Syndre had come close. He stepped, toward her, leaving her with no space to herself. Gently, he had guided her face to look at his. Originally, she had thought he was teasing her… that he knew that she liked him, and he was taking advantage of her intoxicated state. Maybe he was, but Nydryn didn’t care. His pale finger had taken the icing from his cheek, and smoothed it across her lower lip. Gazing up into his blue eyes, her own watched him to see what he would do.

The kiss had been a surprise, although it shouldn’t have. It was gentle, soft, and by this time, Nydryn’s mind had gone completely fuzzy. She didn’t care about anything, and kissing Syndre was so… pleasurable. Releasing her for a bit, she sighed softly. His tongue ran across his lips, searching for the remains of the sweet cake icing that had been stolen from her.

His second kiss was different. It began just as gently as the first, but had moved on from there. His hands had progressed from her jaw to her hair, and his fingers were running through it. As his mouth worked with hers, her hands came up between them. Placing them on his thin chest, she could feel the soft material of his shirt beneath her fingers. As his fingers trailed down her neck to the base of her throat, her hands moved around his back. Their bodies pressed together provided a substantial amount of warmth in the cool night air.

After a bit, Nydryn pulled back only slightly. She had needed air, for the kiss had lasted longer than she expected… but she liked it. Giving Syndre a small smile, her shining blue eyes met his. This was another way to lose control… one that she had not thought of before. The two remained close against one another, sharing each others warmth.

The effect of the drug as well as their closeness didn’t allow her to feel the cold breeze brushing by the two as they stood on the balcony. The hunger, at least for food that had been present before disappeared. Her euphoric state remained, smiles of course accompanying it. As she looked up at him, her eyes were large and trusting however, it’s not like she had a choice to trust of not to trust in this state. She trusted him to lead her tonight, to make her forget what had been troubling her earlier, but as of now, she couldn’t remember what that was. The effect of the alcohol was pleasing as was the drug, serving its purpose.

The pieces of her, the difficult puzzle he was slowly figuring out,
began to come together. Influencing her to indulge herself had quickly caused
her fortified walls to falter, and when he was finished those barriers that
she thought were strong would crumble entirely. Of course this would take some
time, but Syndre was off to a very good start. That's it beautiful... you can
trust this serpent...
The words unspoken, yet heard in his unclear mind, were
laced with a venom that made his own skin crawl. The combination of her natural
beauty and his coaxing arrogance melted together in a swirl of eager arousal.
She would be his this Winter night, and she would trust him all the more.

"I think your travels should end in this city...," his whisper pursued her
after she had slightly pulled from him. He didn't allow any escape, not even
for a much needed breath. The small but hard swell of his chest was felt
underneath her roaming hands, the black silk of his shirt so soft it didn't
even seem present beneath her touch. His mouth had found those pink lips
once again, but his kiss was different this time, more like a heated brush
that slowly swept from one corner of her mouth to the other. His slender
hands trailed down her neck on either side, searching fingertips moving over
the slight rise of her collar bone, then further down where his palms came
to rest against the top of her own hands.

The delicate caress of his mouth was followed by a playful nip against
the fullness of her lower lip. At the same moment that she experienced the
small bite, his nimble digits entwined between hers, making her grab either
piece of his parted silk collar. There was a tenacious pressure upon her
hands, and with very slow guidance, they forced the center of his expensive
shirt apart. Diminutive buttons released their fragile hold upon the silk,
one by one, until the last popped free and his shirt fully parted to expose
an upper torso hardened by a physical lifestyle. His shoulders offered a
brief roll, causing the black material to slip off and down the length of his
sinew graced arms as he released her hands.

"Maybe you have found what you were looking for...," quiet words were
accompanied by a careless toss of his silk shirt, the dark fabric flowing
lightly as it caught the breeze, then rippled against the stone balcony.
Brilliant blue eyes narrowed, making his features seem unnaturally wicked as
he took a step back, then another. His slow movement was surprisingly fluid
now, as if with purpose, reentering the candle lit chambers that they shared
for the night. The twin braids that framed his devilish face swayed with
his backward footfalls, freely bounding against his pale chest.

Maybe you have found more than you were looking for he thought while the
flickering glow from the candles bathed his half clothed form. He knew himself
well, and he knew that the few times people had gotten close to him, it didn't
end well. Syndre was trouble, and if someone wanted to involve themselves into
his precarious life, they should be prepared to face the dangers that he
seemed to attract. He could easily get you killed in this city, but the ride
would be memorable.

Vague warning bells were going off in Nydryn’s mind. He had held her hands and forced his shirt open, revealing his toned chest and stomach. Had she found what she was looking for? The feeling that she was experiencing now begged to support his statement. But soon after that, he had disappeared back into the room. Slowly, an idea formed in her clouded mind. She was still under the influence of the drug, as well as the alcohol, but her mind had grown a bit clearer.

She took slow deliberate steps following Syndre back into the room. Her small pale feet took her across the room and very close to Syndre again. Her large blue eyes looked into his, but then she looked down. Her hands came out from behind her back, and reached for his hands. But instead of holding them, her fingers continued to trail up his arms, tracing the contours of his muscles. Her hands had reached his shoulders, but did not stop. They instead continued down, across his chest and reaching his thin stomach. “I have a question for you…” she murmured, her hands still gently gliding across his chest.

They stopped, resting on the upper part of his chest as she looked up at him again. Reaching up so that her lips were so close to his, but not touching, she smiled slightly. She had realized that he had liked teasing her, so she decided to switch it up. Her lips remained that distance from his, and her blue pools were simply watching him. She had an idea that he wanted her… more than he had already gotten. Her teasing was not refusing to give him what he desired, it was just making the process more entertaining. “Do you want me?” her breath softly blew across his lips, when suddenly she was gone.

Her form had made its way to the other side of the room. The shadows hid her figure, but her eyes shone so bright that they were what Syndre could see the clearest. She had leaned up against the opposite wall, a teasing smile still on her face. Her hands, slowly worked their way over her long skirt, bringing it up. It slowly rose past her knees, but stopped about mid thigh as her eyes met his, and she smiled dropping it back down to its full length.

Her mind had become different. Most other times when a man wanted her, and she could tell, she would not allow him anything. Tonight was an exception. Nydryn felt dangerously dirty… or at least dirtier than she had felt in the past. Her mind had given her a break from wary thoughts, and her body wanted a break as well. Syndre was dangerous, and Nydryn knew that. The fact that he was made the night that much better.

A woman's touch went well with the sensitivity that his intoxication
supplied, and Nydryn's hands were welcomed upon his skin. He hid his icy
gaze behind closing eyelids the moment her sensuous whisper contacted his
lips, her words easily increasing his arousal. Did he want her? Ever since
they had reunited he had taken an immoral interest in her, she wasn't that
cute little girl he knew when they were younger. His friend had blossomed
from adorable to beautiful, and now that they were older playing had a
different meaning.

When he opened to his eyes to answer, she was no longer in front of him.
He turned about, accustomed to searching darkened areas, looking for the woman
who had lowered her barriers. The rogue knelt down as soon as her silhouette
came into view, his hands moving to his buckled enforced boots while catching
the brilliance of her blue gaze. He watched the bottom trim of her lengthy
skirt rise against her legs, the exposure of smooth skin greatly disturbing
his concentration. Multiple straps and buckles somehow managed to gain their
freedom and either foot was now able to slip from their confines. Before rising
from his kneel, his sheathed dagger was unclasped from his right boot.

The shadows danced against his bare torso as he moved by the variety of
candles, his precious weapon coming to rest against the table in the center of
the chamber. "I think it is you who wants me...," his words were spoken while
the tightly encircled sash around his waist was carefully untied. Attached to
the released cloth were a series of pouches, his coiled leather whip, and the
finely carved pipe. A multitude of sounds filled the room as he dropped the
dark sash and everything connected to it upon the same table. His black stained
pants drooped low upon his slender hips, the trim desperately trying not to fall
completely off his waist.

Ebony braids swung gently as he stalked her, the distance between their
bodies disappearing with each silent step. Reaching her teasing form, his
impatient hands took hold of the bottom portion of her blouse, his lower torso
pressing her lithe figure firmly against the wall as if to trap her. His head
dipped low and ivory teeth closed around the ticklish flesh of her neck,
the bite more playful than painful. It ended with suckling kiss that drew her
white skin into the recesses of his warm mouth. The slow suction was accompanied
by the rise of her blouse, the blue ripples bunching together as the fabric
slowly rose.

His head drew back and the creamy hue of her skin was left slightly discolored,
almost as if he were trying to brand her with his mouth. The deliberate drift
of her blouse continued, forcing her arms to rise upward until it finally slipped
of her body and dropped to the floor. The warmth of her exposed chest was felt
against his as he pressed her fully against the decorated wall, knocking a framed
painting to the floor with a quiet crash. The moisture of his mouth found the
opposite side of her throat, giving the surface of her skin the same treatment
as the other side of her neck. All thoughts had vanished from his numbed mind
except for one, which was made apparent by the creep of his hands.

Anxious fingers tugged her long skirt upward before finding their way
underneath the lifted trim, his sliding touch discovering the soft skin below.
Seeking fingertips rose pass supple thighs before completing their path around
each cushioned curve of her derriere, gaining a robust grip. Corded arms
tightened and Nydryn was lifted off the ground, her bare back sliding upward
against the texture of the wall, her spreading legs finding a secure hold along
either side of his stable hips.

His reply to her question was said, and Nydryn thought about it for a quick second. Was it really her that wanted him? Of course she was attracted to her childhood friend, but was he using her attraction against her? The thoughts left her mind as his form swiftly approached. He had taken his boots off and the sash around his waist as well. The only article of clothing that the rogue was wearing was his pants which were dangerously low on his slim hips.

His mouth was felt against the side of her neck, a tickling nip given. His hands had already begun to work at the material of her shirt, raising it gradually. When his lips released their hold, his pale fingers worked to raise her blue blouse over her head. It fell to the ground, making no sound as it landed on the furnished floor. His chest was then felt against her recently bare one, the force making her back press against the wall. A picture frame fell, but Nydryn barely heard it, her being so wrapped up in the pleasure of the moment. His lips had then worked on the opposite side of her neck, making the touch of their bodies even more pleasurable.

His fingers had then reached under her long skirt, the one that she had teased him with only seconds ago. Her back slid up the wall as his hands lifted her butt up. Her legs, ever so delicately, wrapped around his torso, and rested on his hips. The warning bells that had been activated earlier in the mind of the woman began to become louder, forcing her to admit that there was something not right.

Her arms wrapped around his neck as she leaned back to look at her handsome companion. Her blue eyes which had been sparking earlier were beginning to show some of her earlier wariness. “Syndre…” she began, her voice merely a whisper as she looked deep into his blue pools, “You are using me…” Her mind had finally found where tonight’s events didn’t make sense. The rogue knew that she was attracted to him, for she did not hide that kind of information well, and he knew that in a state where her guard was down, he could take advantage of her. Of course there was a part of Syndre that was attracted to her, but he took part in tonight’s activities so far knowing that if Nydryn had been fully aware of her surroundings, she never would have done something like what was going to happen… even with an old friend.

A good friend would never take advantage of another when they were in a state of decreased awareness. Of course, there was a part of Nydryn that still longed for Syndre, but if he were to deny the words that she had spoken, she would never trust him again. Denying the words would mean using her, and then lying to her about it. However, if the intelligent man admitted his intentions, then the night’s activities may continue… just at a slower pace. It was all up to the rogue, and his next words… or lack of.

Her soft words were laced with truth. It would seem that he had not broken
her guard completely as he had thought, which showed how hardened her life had
made her. Syndre was use to easy weapon, and though he got what he wanted from
them without much effort, it was those that put up a fight that intrigued him.
Challenging him meant instigating him into further levels of seduction and charm.
Rejection of his advances was not something he was accustomed to, and tonight
would be no different if he had his way. She was fighting herself internally and
Syndre knew that the odds of the battle were in his favor. Though her mind was
strong and tried to interfere, it was out numbered by the need of her body and
the pleasurable effects of the extraordinary herbs that amplified her desire.

"You are so troubled... so protective of yourself...," an almost saddened
expression was acted out upon his face with the quietly released words. Those
passionate pools of azure lust searched her questioning eyes, looking for any
sign that his whisper had stirred her emotions. His head tilted slowly to the
right without breaking his somber facade, gently touching lips upon her
encircling arm. The side of his pale visage then came to rest against that same
arm, allowing the smooth curve of his cheek to caress her skin. Another kiss,
as delicate as the first, was placed against the naked expanse of her curled
appendage and warm words were felt," I looked after you when we were children...
do you not trust that I would do so now?...
"

His tender lips and heated breath slipped away from the attention to her
arm, his head tilting back to where she could gaze into his drug altered eyes
once more, another very soft whisper escaping, "Let me free you from yourself..."
Supporting hands continued to desirably surround the softness of her bottom
as he moved away from the nearby wall. The movement freed her unclothed back
from the painted surface, causing her unbraced weight to drop and firmly
press against the front of his lower torso. There was no hiding Syndre's
longing for her, as she could now feel his obvious arousal between the length
of her supple legs. He held her with care, his grasping hands squeezing her
curvaceous flesh to keep her steady while he deliberately moved to the luxurious
bed.

A single knee lifted onto the lush blankets, followed by the other as his
slender hands released her cream hued rear and came to rest against the pillowy
bed. The bracing of his extended arms allowed him to lower her bare backside
upon the extremely comfortable material. He didn't advance any further, his
crouching form hovered over her beautiful body, the base of his lower torso
remaining positioned between the deep spread of her unveiled legs. His ebony
braids snaked downward to tickle the sensitive skin along her neck and his
entrancing eyes, filled with yearning, gazed upon the gorgeous creature trapped
below him.

She was troubled, needing to protect herself when no one else would. It seemed as though there was never someone looking out for her, and Syndre had noticed her lack of trust due to that. Nydryn’s eyes glanced to the side, avoiding his as he mentioned this to her. He also played upon some of the good memories of her childhood where he had shown her the streets of Ravok which at that time had been of great interest to her. While she remembered the times when he had looked out for her, she also had to take into account that they both had changed. Neither of them were children and while Syndre could be telling the truth, his physical attraction to her was obvious and led her to believe that he would say anything to keep her in the room.

He wanted to free her from herself… such a tempting offer, and one that Nydryn could not easily refuse. But the walls in Nydryn’s mind were there for a reason, and she was unable to give anyone, even Syndre complete control of her. But oh, how she longed for his warmth beside her… it would be hard to tell him know, but her mind told her that she must. “I trust you…” she said softly so Syndre could barely hear it. She did, but she forced herself to abandon that trust and keep her guard up as she had done for the past eight or nine years.

He had gently laid her on the bed, and his arms were now on either side of her. Trapped. That was how Nydryn felt as she looked into his lust filled eyes. Of course her body begged to differ as his braids came to tickle her neck. It was with great remorse that she slowly removed his body from above hers and stood up. “I can’t be free from myself,” her voice was a whisper as she glanced in his direction, “The only person I can trust with my safety is myself… it’s not personal.”

Her soft footsteps made their way over to where her shirt lay on the ground. She bent down slowly, picking it up. “Thank you though… tonight was very nice.” As her eyes glanced to his again, he could see the longing within her to stay. It was with great difficulty that she tore her gaze away from his. She slowly walked over to where her bag lay on the floor. Her shirt swiftly came back over her head and she bent down to grab her bag. Ny could feel the desire within her, and while she longed for Syndre, a kind of disgust came up within her at herself. She had not felt this way for a while, and although she wanted to stay, she had to go. Its for her own safety… right?

His sensual expression had shifted to disappoint after she had slipped
out from underneath him. It would seem she had a stronger will than he had
thought, even under the influence of his Sylrian herbs. He didn't know what she
had been through since he had last seen her as a child, but whatever had happened
effected her more than his seductions. This was a rare moment indeed, for he
definitely wasn't use to not getting his way with a woman. A small smirk crossed
his face as he lifted himself off the abundance of blankets, his knees rising
into a brief crouch before fluidly standing upon the bed. He turned to her as she
began recovering her clothing, getting a final glance of her topless figure
before she slipped back into shirt.

The fun may have been over for her, but Syndre refused to let the evening
go to waste. It didn't take much effort to free his lower torso of his pocket
lined pants, a pair of thumbs pushing the rim pass his waist until they slid
down around his ankles in a bundle of folds. The rogue bared his form in all its
masculine glory and a slight kick sent his leggings off the bed to the rug
below. His body's recent excitement was still present upon his naked frame as he
hopped off the edge of the bed, his darkened braids gently swaying along with
another part of his body. His disappointed features had changed back and his
aura had returned to that of nonchalance, responding to her explanation, " You
have your own mind... and you have your reasons Ny... but you are missing out
on a memorable experience...
"

Again that ever present arrogance emitted from his facial expression and
low toned words. His bare feet took his slender form out through the arc leading
to the balcony, allowing any passerby an unexpected show. He recovered the
bottle of crimson wine that had been left behind and returned into the large
extravagant room, casting his hazen gaze in Nydryn's direction. She was fully
clothed now and had her bag in her hand as if she was ready to venture out. She
was fighting internally with herself, half of her wanting to further indulge his
senses and the other desiring to escape the situation. Normally Syndre would
press on and try to coax the half of her that longed for the pleasure he offered,
but since this wasn't just any woman he decided to leave her a peace with her
decision. There were numerous women he could hunt down later this night.

Another swig of the fine alcohol was taken while he moved to the iron wrought
tub, which by now would be heated and welcoming. The thief carefully stepped into
the hot bath and proceeded to lower his tired body, immersing himself into the
relaxing water. The back of his neck rested against the edge with his head
tilted to the side, the pleasant sensation of the heated water display fully
upon his pale visage. Blue eyes, shaded in pleasure, looked to her from across
the room as his defined arms hung lightly to either side. The bottle of wine,
which seemed to be nearing half capacity, loosely hung between coiling fingers.
He didn't want her to leave, but he was ready to enjoy the rest of the night
if she did. "You know you can stay... there is no reason to walk out on a warm
bed and a good night's sleep...,
" he said, perhaps to convince her to remain
with him.

His brazen form had moved so he was standing on the luxurious bed. His face displayed contempt as he slid his pants off, exposing his wholly attractive body. He was teasing her… showing her what she was missing by leaving. It was all Nydryn could do to remain still and not run back to him. Her azure eyes took in his naked figure as he moved out onto the balcony to retrieve the bottle of wine. His smooth muscles moved visibly underneath his pale skin as he approached the tub filled with warm water. He immersed himself in the water, the look on his face displaying the pleasure he felt by its warmth.

She had decided on leaving, up until he mentioned the warmth and good night’s sleep she would be missing. Nydryn hadn’t even thought of that, but now after Syndre had brought it up, it gave the half of her that longed for him more of a reason to stay. Her eyes avoided his as she considered the situation more. It probably wasn’t a good idea to do so… she should have just left when she could but now her desires were growing stronger. Any being that experienced this feeling would be helpless against it and what it wanted… Nydryn included.

As her mind and her heart fought, the satisfied look on her face conformed into one of regret. How many times over the past few years had she been offered a warm, good nights rest? Not many. In the past, even if Nydryn had been offered the same option, she would have refused it in a heartbeat. It was different tonight. Even though Syndre could be lying to her, Ny was more likely to trust someone from her past than any passing stranger. Her conflicting feelings made it hard for her to think straight. Her heart was winning.

Her bag softly dropped to the ground, and even though it made a noise, Nydryn heard nothing. Her back slowly leaned against the wall, her back sliding down it so that she was sitting on the ground, knees at her chest. She assumed this position a lot, especially if she was in need of comfort. Her knees at her chest made her feel protected… safe at least for that moment.

“If I stay…” her voice was a mere whisper across the beautifully furnished room, “will you keep me safe?” For so long she had had the responsibility to keep herself safe… to watch her own back. In the last nine years, never had she trusted another with her personal safety… at least not while completely conscious. She needed a break, and to know it was a break. A tear slid down her cheek, making her feel weak once again. How could one man make her feel this way?
