Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

It has been merely a day since Karl had arrived at Riverfall through the wild Suvan Sea. He enjoyed the cheerful atmosphere greatly and took his time roaming the streets of Riverfall, taking in all that he could. It was after he left a shop that he glanced at the beautiful sky decorated with white clouds of all sizes and shapes.

He couldn't remember last time he soared through the sky, enjoying complete freedom. It was a pleasant day with great weather so Karl decided he would fly through the skies in these, to him, unknown territories, today.

He went back to the Kulkukan Tavern and Inn and quickly went up to his room where he took off his clothes and stood near the window so he could take off as soon as he was ready. He hadn't morphed in a long time but he was anxious to turn into the majestic aerial creature once again. He didn't take anything into consideration.

Standing still, closing his eyes and not making a sound he stood there for a minute or two before he finally succeeded in silencing his mind completely and detaching it from his body. He felt like he was in another dimension, one where he could be whatever he wanted. And he wanted to be an eagle.

He could feel his body changing drastically. His face, legs, torso and arms all transformed without much pain or uneasyness. Eventhough it had been a long time he was confident in his skill of transforming into an eagle. He had trained many months on it and had memorized the design of his eagleform flawlessly, he even knew how to fly. Which was necessary to learn before diving out a window or of a tree, because it's not because you transform into something that you automaticly know how to move like your new body. It took many painful falls and errors before he finally knew how to fly.

But the sensation of flying is like none other, not once has he regretted picking out this form as his first true full-body transformation. Opening his eyes he could see his golden beak, fluttering his enormous wings he could feel his feathers fluster. He couldn't change the size of his mass by much yet so his transformation always resulted in a very large eagle, which he didn't particularly mind. It made him less of a target for predator birds afterall.

Hopping on the railing of the open window he jumped off and dove head first off the cliff before flapping his wings, at first a bit uncomfortably but quickly he regained his flying ability and he spiraled upwards at high velocity before turning around and flying over Riverfall.

Everyone looked so tiny, the sky was so enormous and the wind felt so good. It was great to be in this form. He decided to fly a bit more and further and ended up flying over the Sea of Grass, although still making sure he didn't stray too far from Riverfall.

He saw a thing move on the ground, sometimes stopping at bushes and such. Worried it might be a spy or scout, Karl skydived down in the direction of the person or creature. Once close enough he saw it was a woman, harvesting or something like that.

He quickly flapped his wings to decrease his speed and he ended up hovering near the ground, looking at the woman from several feet away. The wind caused by his wings blew the woman's hair in disarray so he quickly landed and bowed deep, hopefully making the woman realize he was apologizing for his behaviour.

I Spy With My Little Eye [Kavala]

ImageShe was racing against time. Kavala felt that acutely - moreso than she'd ever felt a sense of the passage of time since she'd been born. Soon, she wouldn't be able to be out here gathering. Soon the snow would fly and there'd be no ability to pick up last minute herbs. They'd either be lost beneath the snow or lost to the weather and those that needed them to survive the winter.

The Konti was not alone either. There was a dog with her that frolicked through the grass, protectively. He was a silkena, sleek and fast, one of the Cyphrus hunter types that brought down small game and helped, in groups, hunt larger things like deer. A stallion grazed nearby as well. He was a small one, buskskin, with an air of age about him that meant he was more than watchful of the Konti as she worked.

On Kavala's part, most of the work involved digging with her folding shovel, using a trowel or a set of clippers to harvest leaves and stems. She didn't' have her eye on the sky, only on the horizon around her and the plants she was kneeling beside. The wind was cold too, so she was wrapped thoroughly up in the warmth of her cloak, trying to stave off the coming winter.

She saw the shadow of the eagle swooping, and automatically turned to look at it. It was a lovely thing, but alien because as she extended her senses to greet it, there was no sense of feeling from it. There was no otherworldly predator that held no hint of humanness. Kavala could feel animals, their emotions, and even sometimes read their thoughts. But from this creature there was nothing - no hint of anything remotely eagle about it. She stood up then, full height, slightly alarmed. She had her blow gun, her daggers, and a few other weapons - namely a crossbow strapped to her back. But she wasn't quite sure she'd need it yet.

Something else was going on... something that confused her.

So when the bird hovered, she paused, tilted her head and looked thoughtful. It wasn't an aggressive move. No, it was more like a gesture of one sentient creature to another. Kelvic? No... certainly not. She'd feel them too... just as easily. When it landed, bowed, and looked hopefully at her Kavala nodded back.

"Hello. You are no eagle though you look like one. Why have you come?"
She asked thoughtfully, cautiously. She was ready to run or fight, depending on the circumstance. But this could be something else too. This could be an occasion for listening.
