Forging Bonds (Aleath, open)

Postby Aleath on April 14th, 2011, 7:39 am

Aleath sat comfortably on the ground and waited for the two start fighting. She was curious how it would turn out. She didn't expect Ishamael to put his arm around her shoulders and start talking about her joining the training too.

She sighed in mock desperation. "Nooo, not training again." she whined a little childishly, but smiled and let herself be led to the place where Dimitri stood, ready. She continued to complain silently. She stopped finally, when Ishamael threatened her to silence her in some way. She gave him a crooked grin. "Just you wait." she mock threatened with her finger.

When Ishamael brought three sticks of wood, she quickly caught hers. It was slightly longer than her half-spear, but not too much. She then remembered what her Drykas friend told her last night and she took the stance, which he showed her. She was feeling more confident than before. Now that she at least knew how to properly hold a weapon and some of the basic moves.

Dimitri then took off to attack Ishamael first. He was fast. She was only standing there because she didn't even have time to react somehow, but at the same time she knew that Ishamael was a good fighter, surely he will be able to defend himself.

Forging Bonds (Aleath, open)

Postby Ishamael on April 15th, 2011, 3:58 am

Ishamael quickly calculated Dimitri's movements as he rushed forward. Side stepping. Dimitri's first attack he quickly backed away several paces to use his longer weapon to his advantage.
You move well your master teaches well. But I wonder how you will fair without your shield!

Racing forward as he finished speaking Ishamael gave two quick thrusts of his weapon in succession. Moving to his right. Ishamael kept prodding at Dimitri to keep him at range. Ishamael continually moved to his right starting to circle Dimitri now in the hopes of keeping his footing unbalance.
Aleath come forward and join! I would have your aid for the man is skilled. Move as I do and try to attack when he is occupied with me. And do not fear I will tend to any aches you may have for I would like your favor on me

Smiling largely Ishamael looked toasted Aleath for just a moment taking his attention off of Dimitri.

Dimitri was carefully parrying the longer 'spear' as the blows continued to jab. While it felt weird not having his shield, it provided two distinct advantages. It freed up a hand, and he was able to move faster. He continued with weak slashes and parries, he began positioning himself so he had Ishamael in front and Aleath in back. He didn't know how well skilled either were but suspect she was the weaker of the two by how they talked.

He changed stances so he was sideways between them. He had heard some people refer to this as a fencer's stance. He was able to keep an eye on both opponents from this stance. He feinted a neck high slash and followed it through allowing the slash to build momentum. It swung at the wrong heigh and was about to crash into her face. A sharp pain in his wrist caused him to stop his swing. A small rock fell to the ground. "You know better squire," his master said. He pulled the slash and turned a stab at the man. He pulled it at the last second, purposefully practicing his feints, keeping an eye on both still. He crouched low while spinning low, his makeshift sword on a path to strike her in the back of her ankles.

When Dimitri attacked Ishamael, Aleath stood frozen in place. Not in fear, because she knew that her Drykas friend would be able to defend himself, but because of the knight's speed. She hasn't seen anybody as fast as him. That was maybe she was so unexperienced, so she watched.

She was strartled when she heard Ishamael's voice and her head snapped up to him. She mentaly slapped herself. Of course, she was supposed to be helping him and instead she is just standing there and staring!

She looked at Dimitri, who was now trying to attack her. He did some kind of low swing with his wood stick so she jumped up high to avoid it. "Ha, that was easy." she shouted in victory while she was still in the air. She, however, forgot, that she should be also looking down to see where is she going to land and she ended up sprawled on the ground.

"Ow! It's not that easy." She carefully stood up, hands rubbing her trousers to remove the dust and dirt, but she wasn't ready to give up. She did a quick stab at Dimitri's neck and then she swung her wooden stick to attack his left arm.

Ishamael recovered quickly as Dimitri feined another attack. His mind had been distracted momentarily towards Aleath, leaving Dimitri an opening he luckly had not taken. Returning his concentrated to where it belonged Ishamael parried several of Dimitiri's weak parries. Moving to gain advantage, Ishamael circled mimicing Dimitri and moving to a low crouch.

Searching for advantages was difficult. Ishamael's opponent was well trained, especially for his age. Suddenly, Dimitri sprung turning towards Aleath making a low strike towards her ankles. His high strike had been stopped short but this blow looked like it was about to land on the back of her legs.

First mistake squire, you leave yourself open!! Ishamael quickly jumped forwards and upwards bringing his "spear" around and coming up on the sword arm side of Dimitri. Making a quick sideways thrust, Ishamael attempted to "slash" Dimitri across the stomach. The angle however was slightly awkward because of Dimitri's low stance, so Ishamael's right side was left exposed.

Dimitri saw the woman jump over his low slash. He continued the slash, maintaining and building upon it's momentum. As he turned he saw a slash toward his stomach from the man. It was high compared to Dimitri's low stance. The makeshift spear was above his own wooden blade. He took the opportunity and angled his slash upward, slapping the shaft of the spear with the flat of his blade. This would drive the spear over his shoulder and toward the woman. His blade continued down the shaft toward the wielder's hands.

Dimitri then stepped to his left turning toward the woman once more, standing upright and pulling his blade up through the air. He stepped back as he parried the woman's attack, directing it toward the man. He was now instead of between them, now out I front. The man was to his diagonal left and the woman to his diagonal right. He saw a swing of the woman's spear, which was originally aimed at his left arm, now coming at his torso. He ducked, and moved toward the woman, slashing at her upper thighs as he dipped below her guard, keeping an eye on the man.

Forging Bonds (Aleath, open)

Postby Aleath on April 25th, 2011, 5:00 pm

Aleath was carefully watching Dimitri to see his attacks and be ready for them. She saw how both Ishamael and Dimitri avoided each other's slashes. She noticed that they looked like they were on exactly the same level. One searched for a way to defeat the other but they seemed to be thinking exactly the same.

If she wasn't fighting too, she would be very happy to watch just the two of them. Now she was trying to pick something up from them, but it was almost impossible because of their speed.

She was holding the wooden stick with both hands, the front side of the stick was slightly upward and she was contemplating what to do next. She looked at Dimitri, who was now standing in front of her and Ishamael. He dodged her previous attack and he aimed at her thighs. As she was holding the stick aimed towards him, she didn't manage to parry the attack and Dimitri's stick hit her. She hissed in pain. There will surely be big bruise later.

Now it was time to strike again. She quickly ran towards Dimitri and she swung her stick like with a sword and aimed at his right side.

OOC :
What wold you say to stopping training and doing something else instead? Not that the training isn't interesting, but I think it's time for change. :)

Forging Bonds (Aleath, open)

Postby Ishamael on April 27th, 2011, 1:26 pm

Ishamael spun away from Dimitri as his sword slid down his own spear. Turning back towards his opponent Ishamael was contimplating his own luck at having two open weaknesses miss handled by his opponent when he saw Aleath get hit by Dimitri's stick. Now ordinarly it wouldn't have bothered Ishamael, but the sight of the young untrained woman snapped him out his concentration.

Hold good squire, we yield to you. You are well trained and it shows in your moves. However, I let my spirit get the best of me this day in bringing a maiden into this fight, let us rest for a moment, then I would possibly like to take a walk around the lake. Or, I am open to any ideas that the two of you have. Of course, if you and your captain must depart we would not keep you either.

Bowing to Dimitri in a sign of submission, Ishamael rose then quickly walked over to Aleath. Giving her a quick examinatory look up and down he bowed again and with his head down said Please forgive me Aleath if you are hurt, this was not my intent, but I let my grassfilled brain get the better. If you would allow it I would like you to accompany me on this walk.

Raising his head Ishamael keep his face placid waiting for everyones decision, especially Aleath's.

Dimitri halted the attack as the man spoke. He lowered his make shift blade, and saw Ser Adamal approach him, he quickly returned the bow to the man. Ser Adamal was behind him, and slapped him on the back of the head. "You could have pulled that blow, boy."

He turned to the pair, "We must be getting back, but it was our pleasure. I thank you for helping to teach my squire, he's still a wide eyed boy sometimes. Keep the deer and snake, consider them a welcome gift from the city. I hope you enjoy your stay. Milady, please be safe." He bowed at the pair and saw Dimitri picking up his gear. He smiled at the boy, he had high potential, and he would make sure the boy would go far.

Dimitri having gathered up his stuff looked at the two, "Thank you, and I apologize my lady for injuring you. Welcome to Syliras sir."

The pair turned and began to walk back to town, Adamal patting him on the back, Dimitri beaming like a little kid.

Forging Bonds (Aleath, open)

Postby Aleath on April 28th, 2011, 3:06 pm

It seemed that after Aleath was hit by Dimitri, Ishamael realized that they were training for some time now and he decided to stop it. She was quite relieved, because she generally didn't like fighting. She rather negotiated when she was in danger. But this training wasn't for nothing. It was another experience which might be useful for later.

She blushed a little, when Ishamael and later even Dimitri started apologizing to her. She smiled at them. "Don't worry, I'm not as fragile as you might think."

When Dimitri's master decided to leave her and Ishamael, she looked sad for a moment but cheered up after a while. "It's a pity that you have to leave, but I hope we will meet again sometime."

Then she sat down on the grass to rest for a while. She saw some berries on a bush and since she knew it was safe to eat them, she took one. She laid down and watched the sky thoughtfully. After a moment she looked at Ishamael. "So what are we going to do? Like you said, we could go and have a look what's on the other side of the lake." she shrugged her shoulders and smiled at him.
