[Location] Soothing Waters Bath and Massage

10th of Spring, Year 511

This place is nice Bolivar thought as he enjoyed the better part of the day in Soothing Water. He got himself a hour session in the area and felt like warm dough at the end of it. True he had to wait a hour and a half before he actually got his session in but he spent the time learning about the architecture of the bathes. The concept of a public bathing area was still pretty new to the halfing as he walked around the area he took in the architecture of the placequickly taking the basic layout before preparing to write on his pieces of paper.

He produced a quill, an inkwell, and a piece of paper, and quickly went to work. He quickly drew a flat layout of the the area, making simple squares and rectangles to outline the area. He had some experience when he was back in Sultros working with the parents but he was still pretty novice now looking at his finished work. A simple drawing but something he felt grasped the idea of the general area.

After he spoke to the attendants in the general area before taking a dip in the pool. He quietly reflected as he quickly remind himself of what the attendant told him.

"Yes we the water gets replaced and cleaned regularly as to make the coin worth the experience. And seeing as we are the only ones providing the service in the city I am happy to say we are quite successful in this sector of business."

"This place is sanctioned by whom exactly?"

"The knights of course. They own everything in the land. Everything is theirs, the owners work on a salary as well. Nothing is truely theirs they must upkeep and maintain this the place."

"Ah so that is the way the politics and rulers operate in this city? Very well it is an interesting concept to say the least. I thank you, I would not wish to get into a deeper conversation. I know you'd rather ...relax?"

At this the attendant bowed gracefully happy she was relived from the topic.

Hmm... This isn't the way I think the supposed leading city would be run. I was thinking in more of the fashion of electorates would help lead the city's development. Though I admit, they have done a very good job so far. As long as these knights aren't corrupt at the management levels and are able to keep those patrolling the streets in line it seems like this city works. He thought grinning, sharing his view so far on the city. Now I'll have to see if this process is actually done right while I'm here.

Eventually it came the time for his massage he got up and looked around before he got ready for his massage. He noticed a sultry redhead giggling as he got up. He winked as he turned to leave, the Isurian blood in his system showed off his body in pride, flexing for her while leaving.

The massage truely was something wonderful. The woman named Calyna truly knew her way around the art of massage. Even though he was a half blood she knew how to work the body that is made after the union of an Isur and Human. Fulfilled by the progress and events of the day he found himself heading back to his residence looking somewhat satisfied. However as it would have it he saw a unsavory looking figure a few blocks from the traveler's row. He opted to keep silent as he tried to go around the man.

He stuck to the back streets still, he was no coward, his pride as a native of Sultros denied him any chance of being so. Rather he still didn't want to be near anyone while he was on the way to his abode, the extra labor to avoid possible extra trouble won everytime in his mind. He tried to move quietly, he didn't sneak or take long jogging strides, but rather he trudged along. He felt was the most efficient of the two and if done correctly made even less sound then sneaking around.

The designs of the city (Devlin)

Postby Devlin Bristol on April 2nd, 2011, 7:04 am

Devlin was sulking on one of the side streets on this day, an almost empty bottle of wine in his hand. So far this city had been a let down for him. He had figured that since it was the biggest and most populated city around that there would be many more opportunities for him here. However it seemed that the Knights who protected this city were in far more abundance than he would have liked, and they even did their job. It wasn't what he had been hoping for; all he wanted was to make a living without having to do any real work, was that so much to ask? But it seemed the knights were determined for him to make an honest living. So far he hadn't even gone to find housing or employment yet, and really he had no intention of doing so. Dev was just far too stubborn for that.

The bottle touched his lips and he poured what remained of the red liquid down his throat. It burned slightly as it went down an he let out a sigh as he dropped the bottle to the floor, shattering it. He tried to remember where he had even found wine today but he could not recall. Having not had proper rest the past few nights, dark circles had formed under his eyes and he let out a hearty yawn. I hate this place..., he thought to himself. So far this place had let him down, but he knew he still needed to give it a chance.

Eventually he pushed himself off the wall and made his way back out in to the busy streets. The alcohol had caught up with him now and he was definitely feeling the effects of it. He continued walking humming to himself as he went and as he walked it almost looked as if he were dancing with himself. Before too long he saw someone veer away from him. He felt slightly insulted by this, was it that obvious that he was drunk? Without even realizing it he found himself turning around to follow the man. He didn't know why but he felt compelled to tail the man, perhaps he would find some entertainment for the day. He quickly caught up and began walking in stride behind his new friend, he was very close to the man now.

The designs of the city (Devlin)

The man looked pretty ragged, dark circles under his eyes Bolivar found himself glaring at the man as he walked over to him. The man insisted on getting close, his breath stinking of alcohol the very sight of him annoyed Bolivar. To think there is still these types of people in the city, I would think they would wisen up after the first few days he thought as he nudged the man away. He continued at a normal pace now, not bothering to keep quiet now as he shook his head in disapproval.

So he just decided to bother me and see what happens? To poke fun and bring me down to his level? Never I would not be found dead acting so foolishly, he thought agitated. He kept a steady face as he tried to ignore the man, he started forming a steady flow of djed to his hand his arm shining dully with the focus of energies. As usual he kept the flow subtle as it flowed to opposite side of the stranger a small concentration of res in the palm of his hand, they were almost about to make their way out of the back streets now, the housing of Traveler's row coming into full view now.

He didn't even bother to acknowledge the man next to him. If he was expecting a conversation with an Isur he would be sadly mistaken. His kind were known to not deal with people outside their family ties, and Bolivar was no different. He didn't mind sending a random drunk on his way before continuing on his business without another thought. Hmph, trash he thought as he was making the final steps to walk out into the open street.

The designs of the city (Devlin)

Devlin grinned stupidly as he continued walking in stride with the man. He was shorter than most and Dev could tell he was of another race but he was not sure which one. And his mind was filled with every short joke that he could think of. Such a childish game managed to amuse him in his inebriated state. Although when he found himself bored he was not above such things when he was sober either. He could tell the man was becoming frustrated now and he wondered how long he could keep it up before the man would say something.

However he was somewhat curious as to who this man was. He was wasn't like the usual sort one would find walking the streets in Sylrias. What purpose has he here? I wonder..., his mind began to wander about the strange man and he almost forgot that he was right next to the man now. Dev's mind was having a hard time focusing now, his vision was slightly blurry as were his other senses. But somehow he managed to keep his stupid game going until they had almost reached the busy streets again.

Suddenly Dev noticed a change in the man now. Something was different but he couldn't quite tell what it was. The smile faded as he tried desperately to try and find out what was happening. It felt very familiar to him and he could tell that he should know what it was. No, its just your mind tricking you. After all you aren't in the best mind set now., a voice in his head assured him. But he couldn't get the thought out of his mind. After another moment Dev finally opened his mouth, "So w-what is your deal, huh? Obviously you're not from around here. And you walk around with that...thing." He raised in hand and pointed at the large sword that the man was carrying with him. Dev had not seen someone wield such a large weapon.

Bolivar rolled his eyes at the man as he continued walking. "There is nothing wrong at all. I'm not from around here similar to the other hundreds of people that arrive here annually, so what's the deal? And your bothered by a bigger sword? I would think weaponry should be the least of your worries here. You have knights going around with similar tools of war as well so don't tell me your bothered by something like this" he chided obviously having little patience with the man. Obviously if he had an exotic weapon he would understand this man's rambling, but he didn't have an exotic weapon and the blade was outfitted to suit him. The sword was sized to look like a regular greatsword when compared to his 5 foot frame, so he didn't understand what the cause for all this was.

He found himself in the front of the his lodging before he stopped to see the random man off. "Look I don't know what the point of your game is but as you can see I'm not interested. We can just stop this here and now, and end it. Or we can just have it so the day ended with you having a unpleasant afternoon. I'm not going to get riled up by such childish games and I'm not going to start now. Either leave or I'll see you off" he said, not a hint of sarcasm was on his face as he crossed his arms and glared at the drunkard.

The designs of the city (Devlin)

Postby Devlin Bristol on April 12th, 2011, 4:22 pm

Devlin's eyes glared back at the man, however he was having trouble focusing. His eyes were glazed over and bloodshot by now and his cheeks were slightly flushed out. It had been awhile since he had consumed this much alcohol and it was catching up with him now. However it was still clear to him that this man wanted nothing to do with him which slightly insulted Dev. "Hey...d-don't be like that man...", his speech was slurred and his balance was slightly off as he spoke.

His curiosity was powerful and was what usually got him into trouble, but that did not deter him very often. He wanted to know more about this guy and was determined to learn. His eyes narrowed and began to focus, preparing to try and manipulate the man's mind a little for some information. STOP!, a voice in his head shouted at him. You are really in no condition at the moment. The voice was right, attempting such a thing now would only end badly for him. He cursed under his breath, it appeared to satisfy his curiosity he would have to do this the old fashioned way.

He drew in a deep breath and gathered himself. He stood up straight and gained his balance, somewhat anyway. "Look, I'm sorry this is no way to act. I was simply trying to be pleasant to a new comer...Allow me to introduce myself." His arms spread out to his sides as he leaned forward just a bit. "Names Devlin, good to know you stranger." His teeth gleamed through his smile. Attempting to sober up on the spot was no easy task but he was trying his hardest to accomplish it.
