But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on December 12th, 2011, 7:43 am

The conversation in the other room didn't go by Revy for even a second. Even though she was looking at the other horses, eyeing them if they had any guts, she felt her anger boiling at the point where the midget stated what a shy horse it was. "That's my horse! Those petching idiots didn't see the bit and bridle!? I'll gut them, I'll gut them and mutilate their bodies.", she thought angrily as she loosened her shield from her back.

The three men hadn't noticed that there was another customer, or even noticed that that particular customer owned the horse. One of them, the newcomer, was looking around a little scared. He could feel the anger coming from somewhere else in the shop and that little part saved his back, but one of his companions had to pay for it as a towershield hit the guy in the back of his legs, the teeth ripping the flesh open as he screamed in pain.

As an angel of wrath, Revy came walking from the other room with, in her hand, her longsword. Her face darkened by anger, she eyed the scared man, the one lying on the floor grabbing the back of his ripped open legs and the last one, that had drawn his cutlass and dagger. "You think you can sell my horse? Well, let's make sure you guys won't think anything anymore after I'm done with you.", her voice dark and emanating. Completely different from what bob had heard before.

The scared man yelped shortly before he grabbed his weapons. "Calm down calm down, she's on her own and clad in armor..... oh shit armor, she's probably a good fighter.... no no no, she has the be slow. With the two of us we could beat her and grab the money. Yeah, that's what we'll do.", he thought as he readied his gladius. His eyes turned a little crazed and the mercenary spotted the fear and lust for blood in them. A scared and bloodthirsty man is usually more dangerous that a skilled one with a blade, as the skilled man knows when to give up. The former would attack recklessly, but more dangerous.

Giving Bob another glance, Revy grabbed her longsword with both her hands, readying herself for what the guys might plan. Her eyes started showing her lust for blood now as well. "One down, two to go. Let's see how they'll fight. Gotta watch out for the one with the gladius though. I dislike fighting figures like him. Can't scare them off as well.", she thought as she assessed the situation, "Don't think that shortstuff will be of much help, so gotta take them out on my own. Great.... couldn't wish for a better situation."

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Postby Zarek on January 1st, 2012, 1:47 am

OOCSorry for the long absense, but I am back now, and btw Revy, do not be afraid to take a few swings at me. I figured it would be a we bit more interesting too have a little fight between us before having the thugs step in to take advantage of the situation.

It had been some time since Zarek walked away from the conversation between Bob and the women. For Zarek was not too keen on the idea of standing there listening to Bob try and persuade her into buying a horse, for he did not wish for a horse, but a Dog. “hmmm, if I were dog kennels, where would I be…” Zarek thought to himself as he walked further away from the front entrance, standing in the middle of Killroy’s Kennels. Zarek surveyed his surroundings too see if he could spot the faithful companion he seeks. “I’d walk towards the smell of shit, if the entire shop didn’t smell like it.”

After a short few minutes of just browsing the surrounding animals that crowded around him in the assortment of cages, he eventually thought it was best to just wait for Bob. However, after only 5 to 10 minutes had transpired since Zarek left Bob to deal with the angered women, a shriek of pain reached his ears, shortly followed by the growl of a familiar voice. “Son of a…” with a heavy sigh, Zareks forehead fell onto his hand as he shook his head. I walk away for but only a few minutes…only a few! he thought, as he made his way towards the area where the horses are kept. He did not care to much for what might have transpired, however, Zarek also did not wish to remain in the kennel for much longer and did not wish to find Bob hurt. For Zarek had to leave Sunberth shortly, and did not wish to be held here for much longer.

After stepping outside too where the horses were kept, it did not take a genius to catch up to speed to what happened. For straight ahead laid a man, grasping the back of his legs in pain, with a toward shield resting on the ground close by. To Zareks right marched the women, sword in hand, and locked onto two fools who stood near a horse. “Now now, people, people! Let us not cause more of a ruckus, some of us paying customers would like to get on with our day.” Bellowed Zarek, walking directly between the two with both hands stretched out. He did not care if they wanted to stab each other, but he did care that more of his time was being occupied from these turn of events then he would like. Besides, maybe the two men over there would be willing to buy Zarek a drink for stopping the inevitable events that were about to unfold.

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

oocAttacking horse thieves in Killroy's huh? Can't have that! I'll give each of you a reply before I reply again ^^

The scared thief jumped back as Zarek approached, following Sunberth logic anyone who wasn’t your friend was probably an enemy. “Daniel … Dan man, this isn’t any good. We can’t handle this … we should call them.”

The stronger thief, Dan kept his eyes on Revy but acknowledged his partner. “They’ll be pissed; you know how they can be.”

“Yeah yeah b-but look what she did with a shield, a shield!” the anxious little man exclaimed and was given a curt nod by Dan. “SAMSON!” The scared man’s holler echoed back through the stables.

The cheery man who entered was by no one’s knowledge named Samson, he was the man of every hour in Killroy’s Kennel, Jolingood himself. Flanking his strut through the stables were three large, armored and armed thugs; Daggerhands if their tattoos were anything to go by.

“What!? In my amazing name is going on in here?” Killroy gave a jovial chuckle, he was just hilarious! Looking distastefully down at the man writhing progressively weaker as the blood loss effective silenced him. Snapping his fingers he motioned from Bob to the bloody mess soaking into the dirt floor. “You clean up shyke, this is right up your alley … uh George … whatever your name is. Fix this.”

The quivering thief quickly regained composure at the sight of the three older daggerhands, “Samson, this bitch just up and attacked us! We were only looking at the horses, just doing business.”

In reply one of the daggerhands, this one with dark brown skin and an enormous flamberge strapped to his back grunted and stepped forward until he was just behind Revy. It appeared that this was the man named Samson. “Take ‘im to the Doc, both of ya.” The two remaining thieves reacted immediately even though the command had only been a grumble. They lifted up their fallen companion and began to tote him away.

Killroy sidled up beside Samson and gave Revy’s backside a cursory glance. Musing in a salacious tone, “Now, my lovely young man. This is a place of business if you want blood sports there’s a pit not far that would be ecstatic to employ your generous talents, I am sure. “ He let out a throaty giggle and indicated Revy's horse, “Buuut, if it’s this lovely piece of horse flesh you’re after. I could part with it for … 20 gold mizas? A deal for the unpleasantness.”

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Bob was testing the strength of the horse's mane and tail just to appraise it more or make it look like he knew what he was doing here. It was something he knew he was supposed to do with dogs to see just how well they are being taken care of and horses are animals as well so it was better to stick to what he already knew to try and reduce the possible mistakes. Anticipating a reaction from the horse when he gave the tail a soft and quick tug his full attention was on it because as useless as it looked it would still be able to defend itself. That was when the commotion with the thrown shield started, the clanging of steel when the heavy mishandled tool which should have been used for defence landed on the ground after doing its damage. "Be patient until I..." look at the horse to see if there is anything to do Bob wanted to say but he also heard the cries of pain then. "Damn it! Don't you have anything better to do than to go into stores and start looking for trouble?" Like Bob had mentioned earlier to the fiery tempered woman, "just go and take it outside or something." because he did not want to be responsible for anything else.

But he already was in Killroy's eyes when he would come and his own convictions. Seeing the weapons coming out and the plans being made Bob acted fast like Zarek to try and settle the situation down crying out without much effect that "you are trying to buy something and they are trying to sell something. Why don't you guys just wait for your turns instead of jumping queue?" thinking that all this was just some customers having a fight over the wares rather than one stealing the belongings of another. Seeing Zarek's interference, Bob quickly shouted "you wait for your turn last since you suddenly disappeared. No one is keeping their spot on the line here!" The dogs are still going to be there once the day was out. The only problem was whether or not any of these people will be if things went badly the way they are now.

There was only one thing that could stop them now which was the timely yet unwanted appearance of someone else who was in a position of power such as the owner of the place with reinforcements. Fortunately it was not yet the time that Bob knew just what sort of people the Daggerhands exactly were, giving a breath of relief when he saw them. Bob quickly answered the question that "it is just some customers getting a little bit too excited after seeing all the great things that they could buy" while he headed over to the fallen man to fix things. "You heard the man" he said turning him upright and removing the shield which is already all covered by blood. No need for false pretenses like earlier. Without any consideration for what Revy might feel, Bob picked up the shield while holding firm to its strap so that the combination of weight and blood would not give him any trouble until he was sure that it was secure before moving on to the man. "Ouch..." that looks just as painful as the other blokes who visited Uncle Marny's clinics with injuries caused by weapons.

At least he was going to get proper medical attention now from his friends. Bob would not have realized that these people were Daggerhands thinking that it was only one of those freelance horse sellers that comes about to get things off their hands. He could put it off for his lack of experience in Sunberth just as his lack of experience with animals or dealing with customers. "She actually came here to get a horse boss" Bob told Killroy as he heard his offer to Revy when he handed her back her shield. "I actually showed her a few. You know? That very spirited Nightwalker which is just waiting for that special owner or that Sungold you have been...ahhh....uhhh...trying to train?" both which Bob were really hoping to hurt Revy physically and financially but at one fell swoop Killroy's offer and guards have already promised that. Bob was already getting a new respect from his boss and getting the urge to learn more from this man. Very confident that "you would have a better way of doing that since I don't really know how to persuade her it is to her benefit..."

With most of that out of the way Bob headed towards the back of the stable giving a smile to Killroy and an even bigger one to Samson as he passed on through to get a mop to wipe off the mess of blood on the floor. From his experience he really wanted to do that fast. The last time that happened, it got the animals all so excited that it gave him problems doing his work for the rest of the day.

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on January 17th, 2012, 10:43 am

The mercenary looked at the frightened man as he shouted for help. She was ignoring Zarek completely, only intent on taking the lives of the three that wanted to sell of her horse, HER horse. "You two...... are dead.", she hissed just before Killroy entered. She was pissed beyond reason. "Petching dicks trying to sell my horse. MY HORSE! They've got some nerve.", she thought to herself.

After the thief with the least spine started whining against the samsonguy or whoever he was, Revy immediately snapped back: "Shut the petch up, piece of shyke. You're trying to sell off my horse and you'll pay for that." But right now she didn't make a move just yet. She had to assess her chances of getting out alive first. "Let's see.... four more joined, though I haven't taken a look at them yet, but..... darnit...... can't make too much of a ruckus now. petch petch PETCH PETCH!"[/i], she cursed in her mind.

The following remark of Killroy was something he shouldn't have done. The human woman turned around in a split second, her eyes crazed with fury. "Trying to sell me my horse, son of a whore. And on top of that also calling me a man? Who do you think you are?", she asked him with a forced voice. The sound of it showed her sheer anger, no even fury as she was way past what could be considered anger.

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Postby Ink on February 27th, 2012, 2:08 am

Killroy Raised an eyebrow, “Why, yes of course my mother was a whore. What else would the woman have been?” He snorted and eyed the woman once, “Pity, 40 gold mizas is the new price then. Unless you’re considering a name change to Timothy?” He let loose a high-pitched chuckle, his jokes were the best. But the laugh cut off quickly as her final demand struck home, how dare she not know who he is? Swiftly switching into frigid annoyance, Killroy glanced once at the mountain of a man, Samson, and raised his hand as if to begin with a signal. “You will pay the price for the pounds of horse flesh in mizas or with your own pound of flesh. Choose quickly wench, we’re busy men.”

Samson lumbered menacingly beside the smaller kennel master and withdrew his flamberge from its straps on his back.

The mercenary's face contorted even further as her fury reached critical points, but luckily for them and probably also for herself was that her reason kept her from attacking them outright. Even though the guy in front of her, drew his flamberge, or oversized toothpick as Revy thought about it, she wasn't scared of him. The reason she didn't just attack them there and now, was that the fight could quickly turn sour for her. There were too many possible opponents in the kennel right now.

Grunting and clearly furious with the course of actions, Revy forced her body to relax, putting her sword in the belt again. "Petching jerk. But don't think I've got much of a choice here." Her dissatisfaction showed clearly from her body language. Right now she wanted to vent her anger on Killroy, beat him to a bloody pulp. But she didn't want to do this at the cost of her own life.

"So the price was twenty mizas? I'll pay the darn cash, so after this... I don't want anything having to do with this place anymore.", she said.

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Perfect! Let no one say you didn’t get a great deal at Killroy’s!” The strange, egotistical little man announced in cheery tone. As his arm returned to rest Samson resheathed his sword. “Now, back to business gentlemen?” Killroy and the Dagger Hands turned and headed back towards his office. As a parting quip he tossed over his shoulder, “Bob will take your money when you’re ready to make your purchases.” Maybe the kennel owner had miraculously recalled the dwarf’s name or maybe he had intentionally left it out. More likely than either option he had considered it some sort of strange joke. As soon as the door slammed shut behind the men the entire kennels appeared precisely as it had before. The only indication of the scuffle was the already soaked in blood smudge on the ground and the stable hands claiming the few horses still riled from the incident.

OocContinue as you were before my intervention! And whenever you're done please submit it to the story teller requests thread for your grades. :)

Now knowing what exactly Tua meant at the time, Bob gave a chuckle along with Killroy because "Timothy is a good one boss" even if it was just the kind of thing that would sober up a drunk as it was that stupid. Bob was thinking that maybe he should get a musclebound bodyguard one day too because he can just get away with making stupid jokes like that and seeing the so called wo-man's change in attitude.

The best part of the day was even if things went out of hand thanks to the misunderstandings obviously by people who wanted to make nothing but trouble was that Bob seemed to be rising in status at the kennels. One of the first times that he was handling the cash. In just a few days! Peeking around the sides of his eyes, Bob made sure that Killroy and his entourage as well as the foolish thieves from earlier were truly gone leaving only the two and the addled animals before getting on with business.

"Twenty?" Maybe that was part of the deal she had with Killroy but seeing that Bob had to put up with her, he decided to go saying that "mister Killroy said forty ma-am." giving a smile of satisfaction. While she did not pick one of the horses he offered, she still ended up losing and Bob would have to take his petty victories where he can, and then some. "Maybe I can interest you in something for your uhhh, new horse? We have saddles and feed or maybe you should get a branding iron so something like this won't happen again?"

But I just work here (Zarek & Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on June 5th, 2012, 10:37 am

Revy almost snapped at what the little runt in front of her said. He tried to wrench her arm out even more? How dare something so small try that with her! Not to mention he -advised- her to brand her horse. Inflicting unnecessary pain on her horse? She wouldn't even think about it. Even though outwardly she seemed uncaring about anything, she still cared for that which she possessed or considered as a friend. "You dare mention something as mutilating my horse? You really have a death wish don't you, you little runt. I'll let you off the hook for now as I have some business elsewhere, but next time I see you I'll make you at least a feet shorter.", she threatened Bob.

Pulling out her purse from behind, the human mercenary counted out forty mizas. She hated the fact that she was getting conned and the fact that she knew it, but if those guys returned the situation could quickly turn really nasty. "Don't try to pull any more cash from me, got my own saddlebags and stuff.", she said with a forced voice. It was clear that she was suppressing herself from attacking Bob right now, especially as a vein on her forehead had swollen quite visibly.

Walking over to her own horse, she gently lay a hand on it snout, the horse calming down a little. "I bet you were scared, huh? Don't worry, you're mine and I ain't letting anyone hurt you.", she whispered softly. After picking up the saddlebags and taking her horse's reigns, Revy made a final gesture at the little runt, she put up her middle finger to him. "Remember you rotten weasel, I'll be coming for your head when i return. Keep your neck clean as I don't want to stain my blade with your filth too much.", Revy said as she walked out of the shop. "Petch, petch petch. Didn't calculate this friggin loss. I'll make sure I'll be getting it back -with- interest after returning."
