Anyone who was stupid enough to stay in Sunberth most certainly had a death wish but Bob was smarter than that so he felt that he was an exception. That being said he also felt that he should remind her as a worker in the kennels and someone who knew Sunberth as the place which a person would lose anything that was not nailed down unless the thieves were also into nails that "it is not mutilating. Mutilating is when you find your horse taken by some hungry people and getting prepared to be cooked with no way to save it since you have no way to prove that it's yours. That might have been a very excessive scenario but Bob needed a way to impress on her the importance of having her horse branded so that she would be more likely to make the decision "are you sure you don't want to?" in a way that was more favourable to him.
But of course it was only typical of someone so hot tempered like her so Bob let it slide still keeping to his happy expression when he said "there is no need for threats when I'm just trying to help" especially when he got his petty revenge, and profit. Taking her mizas and counting them so it would be easier to seperate Killroy's twenty from his own, Bob could not really care about that vein he did not even bother to look at said in a monotone voice normally found on bored unnamed shopkeepers "won't pull any cash but remember to return to Killroy's Kennels for all your horsing needs" as a way to get a final taunt in.
After all he has done he was not surprised with the "tip" he got but he advised her that "plenty have tried..." and as she could see none have gotten him yet. He even took to waving goodbye with his hand that had the missing fingers to show her what he meant. She should not be able to do anything to him anyway. She was too scared or she would have already tried so long ago. Even before that unneeded intervention of Killroy into the scene. Bob could have protected himself sure but then the other guy seemed to be one of those wanna be heroic knight types too. He could have easily distracted her for Bob to run if things really came up to that as far as Bob was concerned.
But maybe she has gotten her interest already because the dogs set off barking as soon as she left. Probably that tone of hers that she used. Bob made his way to the kennels that the dogs were kept announcing loudly without a hint of weakness that they should be "quiet!" He was in the position of power here so they should be listening to him. Unfortunately some of the mutts did not seem to see it his way and continued barking so Bob sighed and got to work trying to remember what he was told to stop the dogs. "PHEEP!" he whistled but it only made those which already stopped start barking again. "Wrong one!" he told him as he ran to get some food and water. When all else fails, those would work to keep their mouths busy. "Have fun" he told the dogs softly as he filled up their bowls hoping that the voice will calm down the dogs the horrible woman excited with her vulgarity so that he will not get attacked, again.
