Devoting himself to study, Faraluun pays a visit to the Medical Library and meets a curious konti.

Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

"May the gods see you patience well received, in the mean we can only but wait and make good use of our time" Faraluun said, a faint smile taking shape on his features. Patience had never been a problem for him because after all he was ageless, and needed not fear the ravages of time. Any other race would be more than happy for that, but they didn't understand the tortures it beard. He ached to be back beside leth every waking moment, and to live forever was torture but he knew his god had displaced him for a reason. There was much to do before he could resume his place in the heavens.

The reminders of leth brought him to thoughts of night, and casting a glance around he took a step to the side. Suddenly his head swiveled to look at her, and a rare wry look spread across his face. "Have you ever met an Ethaefal?"

oocI'll have Faraluun head to Zeltiva as soon as it's safe to do so, but i need him in Mura for a good portion of Spring to learn from the healers there before he returns to the University in Zeltiva. Perhaps though they can exchange correspondence though via messenger birds?

OOCMessenger birds sound like a wonderful idea!

"An... Ethaefal?" she peered at him with curiosity. She had been able to surmise that he was no human, but she could gain no further insight than that. "I'm ignorant."

She stared at him again. An Ethaefal... had she heard the word before? She wracked her brains, and though the name rolled off the tongue, she could not place it, nor discern its association.

This man was marked by the God's, and now it seemed he was no mere human. His thoughts were attuned with her own, which was odd. Not many shared her sense of adventure - to seek out knowledge long lost.

There were other reasons for her heart's call too. She wanted to heal, and restore. Helping those who needed help. There was little to do in Mura for a healer. It was a peaceful city.

"Sometimes it is better to learn by observing" He remarked after a moments pause, and moving past he negotiated his way between the rows of books, his pace steady. It wasn't surprising that she hadn't heard of his kind, he hadn't even known it's name when he first came to be on this world, only learning it in the duration of his care under the tutelage of a wise inarta. Just as well his kind was quite rare, he himself never having had met one of his kind before. He didn't feel lonely because of it though, rather he felt better for it for such a proximity with one who had shared what he had would only deepen his loss.

Dusky light alit across his features as he stepped out of the medical library and into open air, a cool wind blowing through his hair. It was only a few chimes away from sun set, he could feel it in his very bones and he knew too that soon his commune with is god would be made possible with the passing of his lover. Everyday seemed so long, stretching along, drawing out the time before he would be graced by the moon once more. More than that, with the moon risen his form was once more as he had possessed at leth's side, and the memories of what he had lost sometimes came back under the moon's light. It was a paltry recompense for what he had lost but he took what he could get.

"When the sun sinks below the horizon, you'll have your answers" Faraluun stated looking over at her before turning to face the sunset and take a deep breath. It was time. The sunlight seemed to grow bright then as it ringed the horizon in a thin golden light, and then within another few blinks it winked out of existence fast fading sky and letting night resume it's hold over the land. Faint slivers of moonlight burned across his skin, and with it the changing light, his body reformed, growing taller and more lithe, and his hair shedding its brown color to give way to gold. From his temples luminous horns sprouted ringing their way in the air, and shined a dark violet in the starlight. His figure better filled his clothing as well as he grew into his clothing.

Turning about to face her, his silver eyes locked onto hers "Any questions?"
oocI'll do some looking around to see how to make it work, but it would be a good way to keep in contactImage

When Faraluun spoke of observation, she got up to follow him out of the library, awaiting the moon's glow by his instructions.

She gasped, air caught in her throat. Stepping back just a step, she watched the transformation. It was a soft one, graceful even. But soon he looked very different, taller, more of a presence, with golden locks. It was the horns, however, that caught her attention. They shined a deep purple in the moonlight.

"You're... you're beautiful."

Those silver eyes spoke of the glimpses she had seen. This man had transcended humanity. An Ethaefal... she had heard the word used before, she was sure of it. But where? Why?

"Does this happen every night? I thought I recognised the name... the Ethaefal. What... what are you exactly?"

His smile was a soft one, and his eyes filled with ancient knowledge that belied his young face.

"Yes, for it is when leth reigns in the sky I return to my true form. An ethaefal straight from let's domain, snatched away in the wake of a destructive force. My form is that what my god has chosen to grace me with, ageless and unmarred, though is poor consolation compared to what I lost" He murmured softly, his knees almost weak at the thought of what he had been taken from. His knowledge of what was his purpose served to steel him though, and straightening his expression, he stood straighter and cast his eyes to the stars for the moment it took him to find solid footing once more.

"It is a form I feel most comfortable in" He admitted, eyes on her.

Avina could feel the pain as he spoke. His eyes glistened as he looked to the stars - a son of Leth, and his moonlit domain.

So the Ethaefal... they had been cast down from the sky? That sounded so terrible. And she could see that he longed for that which had come before. She tapped her Gnosis mark lightly, whispering a prayer to Avalis. Those glimpses were obscured, but radiant, as if bathed in gold. She found herself crying, for no reason other than the emotion that spilled into her.

She pulled back, wiping a hand softly against her eyes. "Sorry," she said quietly. "It just... makes me feel so sad."

Gathering her composure, she moved forward again and put a hand on his shoulder.

"We're both children of the God's then, I of Avalis and Laviku, and you of Leth."

Looking at the konti with his somber eyes, he turned his head to the side slightly.

"Such was not my intent, though perhaps for children of the gods this is the balm that will heal spirits" He murmured softly, his hand going gently over her own. His road had been a long one, and in it he had learned much, but patience was like a second nature to him, and before the end it would be the support he needed till he rejoined with leth. Till then eyris bided him further and he abided knowing that in the end, it would help all it touched.

"But let us not dwell on such things that cannot be changed and instead enjoy the moments we have" Faraluun said, a bright smile cracking through his somber mask. Such was what he learned from a fiery inarta. Live life by the moment.

She nodded fervently at him.

"Of course, of course."

She couldn't help but admire him. At night, the Ethaefal were truly beautiful - torn right from the heavens themselves. They were surely more Godly children than the Konti, for their forms were so magnificent.

"I agree. That's why I wonder if I can stay on Mura forever. It's starting to feel like wasted time... like I could be, or do something else. I just need a push."

She smiled at him, looking up to Leth's moon, and Zintila's stars.

"Perhaps we could stay in contact, Faraluun. You're one of the most interesting and friendly people I've ever met here on the White Isle. I'd like to keep in touch, and know where you go, or what you're doing. What do you think?"

"Where fate pulls you rests with you, a choice is a choice and it's ripples will spread through the ages but I wish you well in whatever endeavors eventually pull you from these shores" Faraluun said taking a step forwards to accept more of the moonlight across his back.

It felt good to be in Leth's light even if it was a hollow pleasure, and standing in the grass as he was he couldn't help but reminisce about his 'birth' on the world, the cold sea water and silvery moonlight heralding his arrival. In a way he and the konti both came from the sea but his was through no effort of Laviku, at least he didn't think it was. The gods tended to be mysterious beings though, always surprising him.

His silver eyes moved slowly up to look on her once more as he thought on her words. "Of course, while you remain in Mura you can easily find me in the medical library, though if circumstances pull you from it's shores, and you leave me word of your direction, I'll write you" Faraluun replied as the contemplation faded from his eyes. That would suit him well, for it seemed a shame to lose on as interesting as her. He had few people he could trust in this world, but to them his loyalty was great.

OOCShall we wrap up here, on in your next post? Thanks for threading!

"That sounds perfect," she said softly, a delicate smile touching her face.

She could visit him again in the medical library, and if she ever left, she could exchange messages. Something pulled her to this man. She wanted to learn more about the Ethaefal. They were beautiful, otherworldly. There was just a glamour from their appearance that shone deeper than the soul.

"And now.. it's rather late. I'm glad to have met you, Faraluun. I'm sure our paths will cross again."

She nodded softly, then turned around and left the library. Thoughts of her divination flashes bubbled inside of her. He was an interesting man...
