Meera could tell that the issue weighed heavily on Aren's mind. She gave a small squeeze against his hand to prompt him that it would be alright for him to share, and complemented it by offering him a small smile. She could tell that what he said "didn't matter", did in fact matter to him. If they were suitors, shouldn't she share in that burden? After all it was only fair that he share, considering that she shared her own.
They were getting close to the sweet shop and time was running out, Meera thought, for Aren to tell her. She shouldn't press him anymore, she should be nice and not push the subject. Unfortunate for Aren, he had selected a woman that was stubborn, but fortunately she did her best to curb the urge to interrogate. She instead did a method that was famous for her gender to use: guilt.
"If no want to share, is okay. I only tell you my secrets so to be closer. Is okay if you no want to be close..." Her voice trailed off and gave a hint or more of playful teasing, as though the guilt trip she implemented was trivial, but it was only a defence mechanism in case the method backfired.
"Is like child, cannot distract you from sweets." Meera laughed.
