Footsteps were heard as Eridanus sensed someone enter the room, and he opened his eyes to find Shale standing there.

"It's going to be your turn soon, follow me."

With that, the ringmaster threw a cloak for him to fasten around himself, and they walked in silence towards the arena. Inside the ring the combatants were already in the midst of combat, and he found familiar faces. Bones the gladiator whom he met earlier, and Bob the midget troublemaker.

They were fighting against two well-oiled Isurs, and their bodies - as well as their unique metallic arm - glistened in the moonlight and the various torches hung around the place to provide illumination in the night.

"What's my role?" Eridanus prompted the kelvic.

"Free-for-all. Go in and target whoever the hell you want. Just know that in return any and all of them can target you as well. Create chaos, show that ethaefal body. Ladies love it."

Eridanus snorted. Of course he knew ladies love it. His face was enough to make mortal women swoon due to the divine beauty granted by his celestial glamour. Ethaefal bodies were perfect in smoothness and always remained uncared despite injuries, and they beheld a unique glow only found in the day or night, depending on their respective deities.

He began to pull on the flux strands within his body, mentally keeping a grip on them so that he could manipulate them at will, but Shale put a hand across his chest, whispering, "Not yet. Wait a little more."

After getting thrown, Bones was a bit winded. He did his best to not look it, and to recover as fast as he could. He could not show weakness in this fight... Not against this isur...

And though this isur might be hardy, with skin of stone, he was smaller, and not as strong... Bones could use those to his advantage, victory could still be his...

He prepared himself, crouching a bit like his opponent, readying to come crashing in at him, and to grapple and fight. Though he was fairly certain this isur was a better wrestler than him... If he wanted to win, he would need to use more of his close quarters combat, from fighting unarmed, than his grappling of wresting...

He heard with a part of his perception a sound from his partner, clearly of pain, but he could not spare a glance to see why...

He simply assumed this meant the other isur was busy... And so it was time to take the offensive. He dashed at isur, smashing into him... This time he dug in his feet, and warded off Bones, keeping him from taking him down.

Bones simply wrapped his arms around the mans back, his opponent doing the same... They wrestled a bit, trying to get one over the other, while pressing up against each other... Finally Bones got a firm hold, dug his feet in, and lifted the isur clean off of the ground, leaving his feet dangling in the air, while Bones held him up.

His feet flailed around, trying to find a hold, but before he could kick him, Bones took a step back, and began to pivot on the spot. Then he spun, spun on the spot, the force of the spin sucking the isurs feet out...

By the end, Bones was holding him by his hands, as he was being swung in circles, his body parallel to the sand beneath them.

Once he got him going fast enough, he released him, sending him flying fast and hard and out of control, attempting to aim at the other isur... Though he doubted he would actually hit him... More than likely he would simply collide with the ground in a heap, a good distance away.
Bones is a Constrictor Dhani. He likes to eat meat. He also has some speech problems.

When he speaks, a double s (ss) means a [th] sound, that he cannot say.

A triple s (sss) means just an [s], but it is extended in his speech.

This has been a horrible idea ever since it came from Shale. "Do you-have any-idea where-you are?!" because even if the isur did not, Bob...could feel it. "Uggh!" Doing his best to try and escape the isur's grasp actually made things worse because trying to tear his arms apart only made him squeeze tighter and trying to wiggle out got them both into an even worse position. Now he really regretted not putting on the oil properly but there was no way to remedy it now. "You..." are going to be hurt very badly now since the other less physically painful methods have failed.

One more time Bob tried to pull the isur's arms apart to make him think that he was escaping but the truth was Bob planned for something entirely different. If the isur had paid attention properly then he would have known that Bob was not making any attempt to slide himself off along the ground like he did before. Once Bob felt the pressure coming in again he was sure that the isur was focusing more on not allowing him to escape than protecting himself from anything else that Bob might do, as if Bob could only think of one way to escape, the awesome hero adored by all the women there quickly released the isur's arms and "owwww!"

That could have been planned better but Bob has already fully committed himself to his plan to let a li...ot of pain distract him. Now only that there were too many eyes watching for him to succeed that it would be such a shame if he disappointed them now. Taking the pain to his sides, Bob straightened his arms and smashed them into his opponent's head before straightening them again to repeat the motion on his opponent's respective shoulders. The pressure lessened. Bob was ecstatic that it was working. His plan was actually...not working because the isur curled his arms over to catch Bob's arms.

Now his arms were stuck there but at least it was better than how he was held earlier. Now Bob also knew that the isur was not so impervious to pain as their arms and reputation suggested. Since he knew that he could take the chance with his newly freed body and see "how do you like that now?" Probably a lot since the isur's face changed and let Bob go. Taking his chance Bob wiggled out of the isur's grasp as his victim comforted the spot that he was attacked at. Fortunately there was no men around and the women would not truly be able to understand how dirty the move that Bob just pulled.

But he did remember especially with the very recent time incident that it also happened to him which is why he gave his opponent a chance to recover and get up. Better for him because it gave him a chance to pose at the audience and make himself appear as the better man. Especially since it was his partner which put both their opponents down. Bob was not 'that' wicked to hit a man when he was down. Especially when there are witnesses.

There was a loud horn blaring, and it came from Shale who stood up from his seat holding a strange, red device.

"Half-time!" He boomed, waving his hands for the combatants to disengage. Assistants came running out to help the gladiators separate, with water pouch in hand and towels in another, cleaning up the sweat and offering a drink if they require it. Another group of assistants came in with oil, and when the above was done they began to lather the gladiators, covering them up in glistening oil that shined every contour of their body.

That was when Eridanus was sent out, and when the half-time was over, he found himself staring at two very familiar figures and two Isurs. The celestial creature raised a brow at the snake-gladiator and the trouble-attracting-midget, then turned his gaze to the Isurs who gave him a nonchalant shrug. They did not really care who was in the ring, only that they had to beat people up until they remained standing.

He supposed it was best to ally himself with the people he knew. Bob was a different story, but at least he knew Bones had a modicum of honor in him.

"Alliance?" He called out to Bones, all the while grasping his djed threads within his body. His muscles were half-tensed, ready to spring should there be a sudden attack, but not completely tense so as to disable flexible movement.

It seemed it was time to take a break, as Shale waved them off. Apparently they were breaking up the fight, and splitting it into bits or something. He had never seen that done before... Of course he had rarely been in a battle not to the death, and certainly not like this...

He stood up and let out a huff of air, and flexed his arms a bit, stretching them out. It had been a bit strenuous, even for him, to toss that isur with his large weight. He had been lucky to catch him as he did, though he was not sure what was going to happen now.

He took a spurt of water, and spit it out, before taking a second gulp and swallowing it, as he was dried off. Soon enough though, more were coming out, oiling him up again.

As he walked back out though, he was surprised to the new addition... Someone he had met recently in fact. Though he had forgotten his name...

"I sssuppossse ssso... Ssough what are you doing here? And any plan?"

Halftime?!? Do they even have halftime for these sort of things? But Bob could use a little break before they continued, greedily emptying out the water pouch and snatching up the towel because he did not need the assistants touching him in front of all these women. Unfortunately he cannot do the oiling on himself alone so he had to walk back towards the gate they came from and waved them to do it there. When he was done and went back to the arena, he saw the most horrible thing he ever seen.

It was Eridanus. That worthless ethaefal. Bob should have known that the halftime break was too convenient. A way to place someone into the situation where he was not even wanted in by anyone. At least the ethaefal did not bother to greet Bob which was fine. Bob would have loathed to respond but Eridanus did something really good that he can use. The idiot just publicly let out to everyone, the audience, Bob, his partner and especially the isur pair. It should be able to work out in the end to teach Eridanus to never again come in Bob's presence and that he was not as good as he thought he was.

Each had their own way of using their djed. Instead of preparing the djed that was all over his body like the ethaefal interloper, Bob called to those and started to draw them towards his mouth. He could feel the djed in the furthest reaches of his body receding and decreasing as the ones at his mouth grew. It pained Bob to do this but he yelled at Eridanus with a nod in the end. "Three is more than two Eri. At least you can let us take it a little bit easier." at the same time he released the djed towards the two isurs who would be able to overhear him. The sudden thought implanted as if their tiny isurian brains would have reached it on their own. "Beat the ethaefal and the weakened pair will be a whole lot easier." Even Bob would follow that himself.

As for the plan it would be easy. Bob already established familiarity with the ethaefal so the isurs would know that the team is very likely but now it was to single him out. Bob yelled loud again for everyone to hear. "You take one, me and Bones will take the other. Should be easier for you. You're fresh." His decision made, Bob held on to the shoulder of his true partner to try and hold him back from acting first. Better a person who has proven himself in the fight so far as reliable than a person who has proven himself untrustworthy for two seasons but acting otherwise.
