Evora stepped out of the pub, still hanging on to Gaius' hand but this did not stop her from checking the crowd to make sure no one was following them.Large crowds did not make her nervous, but she did not enjoy them. One could not watch people if they were dispersed so widely and Evora liked to know where everyone was at all times. After she was sure no one was trailing behind, Evora turned her attention back to Gaius.

"Well, where should we go to? The city is large and wonderful, plenty to see, plenty to do. Any ideas?" he asked.Evora was at a loss. She looked about her. She was new, it was only her second day in the city.

"Show me around, take me somewhere. I have only been in this city for a day, I do not know it well. I'd be grateful for some direction," Evora said, starting to walk down the street aimlessly, waiting for Gaius to take some direction.

About that drink (Gaius)

"Show me around, take me somewhere. I have only been in this city for a day, I do not know it well. I'd be grateful for some direction," Evora said as she slipped away from Gaius and began to walk aimlessly. If it were possible to walk in all directions at once, Evora seemed to be putting her best effort towards it.

I'd be grateful for some direction. The words rang in Gaius' ears as though they had been rung from a church bell. Wouldn't we all like some direction? Ah, but I'm being rude and she may wander off soon if I bore her. Gaius racked his brains for somewhere interesting to go, but he had not been in the city long himself and had seen little. Then, just as hope was about to abandon him, he remembered a scrap of conversation he had heard once, not long ago, from a group of passing sailors.

Gaius hurried to catch up with Evora. "Why not the bazar? I hear it's this great thing under the castle, could be interesting," Gaius said as he hurried forward. He placed his hand on her shoulder as he came even with her, hoping to grab her attention.

About that drink (Gaius)

Evora felt a strong hand on her shoulder and spun around, relaxing when she realised that it was Gaius."Why not the bazar? I hear it's this great thing under the castle, could be interesting," he said, his hand still resting on her shoulder.

"Sounds great,"Evora smiled, willing to go anywhere as long as she could enjoy the company of another. She had traveled alone for so long, "lead the way."

She fell in step next to Gaius, enjoying the last warmth of the day as she watched the sun turn a brilliant orange and the horizon become a dusty pink.

"Sounds great," Evora said with a smile. "Lead the way." As she spoke, she fell in step with Gaius, who walked with a purpose and direction. Part of him couldn't help but notice the beautiful way the sky was turning, as the sun blossomed into a brilliant orange and the horizon around it turned to a dusted pink color, as if someone had scattered powdered glass into the sky.

Gaius knew only vaguely where the bazaar was, but that was all he needed. Once they got closer, he could always ask someone if they knew where to go. And it was no matter if he knew where they were headed or not, he simply relished in Evora's company, and the chance to spend a day with someone as wonderful as she seemed to be. He thought back to the days in Wind Reach, days of sparring and practice, or trying to impress others and falling short of his own expectations.

Gaius shook his head to clear it as he realized that he was wandering. He needed to focus, on here, on now. A quick glance to the right confirmed that Evora was still here, still following him. He had been half afraid that she had wandered off as soon as he had lost himself in thought. Gaius smiled at her, about to say something, before he ran into a tall, thin man and threw him to the ground. Gaius stood for a moment, stunned and blinking before he realized what had happened.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going, here let me help you."

About that drink (Gaius)

Postby Mordechai Zoltar on June 25th, 2012, 11:59 pm

"Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going, here let me help you." The man said to Mordechai after running him into the ground 'accidentally'.

"Now you and I both know you were raised better than that Gaius!" Mordechai said, taking the hand of his friend. He was accompanied by a lady. And quite nimble bodied by the look of it. She had an air of control about her. A warrior maybe? "And who may I ask is your friend?" Mordechai finished but then instantly recalled her from the other day. "Wait a minute. Evora," he said slowly, "am I right? We met briefly a while back. My name is..." he paused, but then realized if it was a friend of Gaius' that she could most likely be trusted. "My name is Mordechai."

Brushing himself off and re-slinging his pack over his shoulder, Mordechai continued. "And where were you headed in such a hurry?" he inquired. The two seemed to have, in addition to haste, an energy between them. They were quite familiar with each other, it would seem. Mordechai smirked at the thought of a blunt Inartian like Gaius with anyone going smoothly. The very first 'Does this dress make me look portly?' conversation would end it all.

Mordechai scratched his tuft of beard pensively while he waited for their rebuttals.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going, here let me
help you." Gaius had colided with a man and was now offering him a hand to help him up from his spot on the ground. "Now you and I both know you
were raised better than that
Gaius!" the man barked as he scrambled to his feet, picked up his satchel and grasped hands with Gaius.

"And who may I ask is your
friend?" Evora felt the mans eyes on her as he studied her,and watched as recognition unfolded on his face, "Wait a minute. Evora," he said slowly, "am I right? We met briefly a while
back. My name is..." the man paused uncertainly, as if contemplating whether or not to trust her, "My name
is Mordechai." And finally the man with the coin had a name. Though far from relaxed or trust, Evora felt considerably better now that the man had a name.

"And where were you headed in such a hurry?"
"Gaius was going to show me the bazaar. We're somewhat at a loss as to what to do." Evora admited. She also had a sneaking suspition that Gaius only half knew where they were. Evora looked over to him, an amused smile on her lips.

Gaius caught Evora glancing at him, an amused smile dancing across her features. He smiled back, wanly, before moving his attention back to Mordechai.

"Yes, we were headed to the bazaar. Though, I don't suppose you had somethign interesting in mind? And perhaps you'd like some company?" Gaius asked, hoping that Mordechai would say yes. As much as he enjoyed Evora's company, he was out of his depth with these social interactions. But Mordechai always seemed to have something more interesting in mind, somethign Gaius was at home doing.

"So, anything?"

"So, anything?" Gaius asked.

"Well I was just headed back from the bazaar so I don't really feel like going there again. My plan for the evening was to just go back to my tent and relax in front of a nice fire." Mordechai said with a wink as he let a wisp of res come from his mouth on the word 'fire'. "I don't suppose you'd like to come with and share stories, would you?" he said to both of them.

Mordechai raised his eyebrows once and grinned at the two of them. Walking around them and then backwards away from them he joked "Or you could both wander around until you get so lost you can't find your way back! Either way I'm heading out of the city so feel free to follow if that is what you wish." As he finished saying this Mordechai turned around and began meandering off as if to some lullaby, waving his hands about to the sound of himself humming.

Gaius and Evora both raised an eyebrow at the act before shaking their heads and following.

Mordechai had an addictive way of speaking, all his features animated, full of grins and his feet danced about the Inartans. Evora enjoyed this rich persona far more than the stranger in the streets from before. Evora also admited to herself that Gaius' easy mannerisms around the stranger also put her at ease.

Mordechai offered that instead of the bizaar that they accompany him back to his camp site outside the city. Evora saw no fault in this seeing as her camp was also pitched in the nomadic community that had sprung up around the city. But his words seemed to imply more. As if his intent lay far beyond the campsites.

"Or you could both wander around until you get so lost you can't find your way back! Either way I'm heading out of the city so feel free to follow if that is what you wish." Mordechai sang walking off waving his hands about as he hummed some unknown tune to himself. Fiery and determined Evora was not the sort of person to back down, especially when she felt she was being mocked. Studying the man she wasn't sure that was his intention, so shaking her head she once again fell into step beside Gaius this time with a determined stride.

Gaius hesitated. He watched Mordechai walk off, dancing about and waving his arms, looking quite comical, unsure of how to proceed, unsure if Evora would follow him. Finally, he shook his head to clear it and began to follow his friend. He was relieved to see Evora fall into step beside him.

Gaius realized that the two of them were closing in on Mordechai and a sudden nervousness slammed into him like a well aimed war hammer. Slowly, he took a deep breath and turned to Evora, the two still walking still closing in on Mordechai.

"I didn't even think to as if this was something you wanted. I'm sorry about that, we can go somewhere else if this isn't how you wanted to things to go," Gaius said, hoping to the sky and wind that his words sounded less pleading and afraid to Evora than they did to himself.
