Now that I've gotten that out of the way...Hola ¿cómo estás? Before you ask...yes I do speak a little spanish. I passed a year of Spanish Educations so I at least know the basics, enough to write a couple sentences in Spanish. Besides that, I usually just use translate for stuff I don't know [¡Viva la Google Translate! :p :p :p ]. Anyway, my name's Shadow, or at least that's what you call me. I'll also answer to Nane, Mr. Shadow, and Master Demon Shadow :D .

How's about a little about me. [If you don't care then stop reading now :'( ] Currently, I live in the magical world of Atlanta, Georgia where squirrels get run over and cats go around like they own the place. I am a high school sophomore so don't expect to much out of me. Bare with me and we'll work well together.

In terms of likes and dislikes, I like food, good people, writing, and zombies. Lots and lots of zombies!!! I don't like exercise [I only do it so I don't become fat like the rest of America], people who are loud and rowdy, math, musicals, and flies. That's about all there is to me. ¿Qué hay de ti? ¿Quién es usted? [Words in Spanglish :D ]

Hi Shadow, it's nice to meet you! :) I took three semesters of Spanish in college but I am embarrassed to say I hardly remember any of it. I can pick out a few things when I hear it spoken but actually speaking it is just not gonna happen. I hope you enjoy your time on Mizahar, we have lots of friendly people here who are willing to answer any questions you may have as you get started so don't hesitate to reach out. :D

Hey Shadow, pleased to meet you! ^^
I studied Spanish for three years in secondary school...none of it really sunk in but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway :')
I like zombies too! (wooo!) :D
Out of curiosity, what's your plan for surviving the inevitable apocalypse? ^^

Mucho gusto Sra. Valkyrie! This plays looks fun, but it might take a while before I actually get the hang of it. In about a week or so I'll probably know everything I need to know.

@Sketch: High-five fellow eventual zombie killer! :D

When the invasion comes, I'd just rescue a couple people [must be at least one female] and steal a car to get away in. From then on, I'd either head north or to a rural area, all of which during the day. If there's anything I've learned from the movies it's that you never travel at night during a zombie invasion and that you steer clear of well populated areas. What about you? (Note: Anyone that has no plan will get eaten by zombies :paranoid: )

Something I've learnt from the films is that the girl dies first...so maybe rethink that? :')
Well, I live on an island, so the currently plan is to grab a weapon, raid as much food as humanly possible, get on a boat, sail out to open water..and stay there until the zombie threat dies out :D

The problem with remote areas lies within finite resources. What if zombies rise in the winter? You'd die of exposure before any ghoul makes its dinner from you. You also cannot assume a zombie outbreak is temporary; perhaps you're aware that the government is taking action against it, and perhaps it's a small outbreak, but if the whole thing goes World War Z and hell presents itself in a neat little hand basket, you may want to rethink your open water strategy.

Me, I'd likely stay in my apartment. I'm seven floors up and there's a small convenience store at the foot of my building. There are enough resources for a few weeks, and enough people to establish a community that can help each other in need. Travelling in groups to get more supplies, for instance. Also, the potential for level after level of barricades and fail safes to ensure zombies don't get to the top. I'm also a short walk from a dentist's office, where medical supplies are readily available without the risk of a hospital if the dead begin to reanimate.

My choices in weapons are obvious: a crowbar, for its extended reach in melee range and its built-in practicality; a semi-automatic rifle, provided I could get my hands on one (one round per trigger-press expends less ammunition than its automatic and submachine gun cousins and its quickness makes it superior for firing several zombie attackers at once); and more than likely a secondary melee weapon, as firing arrows through zombie skulls is much harder than it sounds, and guns are LOUD, and should only be used in dire straits.

Zombies love noise.

Ah, that's about all I can think of for now.

tl;dr version: I'd stay home.

A long standing thought I've had, should the zombie apocalypse truly be unleashed, was that I and a group of people would take shelter in a mall. The one I've had in mind is in my city, it seems pretty touch, and there are many of those handy slide-down metal grate things that we can use to barricade ourselves in, assuming the zombies aren't intelligent.

In this mall, there is a pharmacy, a doctor's office, a food court (we might need to scavenge for those wonderful non-perishables a bit, but we can crunch on some sushi until then), and a smattering of electronics and clothing stores. Also, there is a Tim Hortons and a Bentleys, but unless we want to get a caffeine fix and post watches, or move en masse to a new base of operations, I can see they won't see much use. Any one of these places, but perhaps Tim Hortons, has those metal grates. We can hide out in a store, or two, depending on our numbers, lock it down, and retreat as far as possible from the open mall just in case a zombie or two breaks in and decides to rummage for a snack.

The mall is downtown, so there are a lot of handy places to pick up necessities like medicine, food, and water. The dollar store carries much of what we might need as it is.

Oh, and the movie and video store carries a zombie survival handbook. I'm sure that could be useful for something.

Oh yes, welcome to the game, Shadow! You have fun now, ya hear?

Females may die, but we need them to repopulate. If you were just surrounded by nothing but dudes, you'd probably turn gay. That's why you have to save mostly females. HOT Females (you'll see why if you watch Highschool of the Dead :p )

The whole open sea plan would probably work for a while if you're really out at sea! The first thing the military will do to try to solve the problem of an invasion is nuke a city (it happened in Resident Evil). If you live near a city, it would probably better to take a helicopter or something because a boat isn't a fast means of escape. When World War Z does happen, I'd just get out before they had a chance. The first time you see a zombie on the streets, you know it's time to book it. Unless of course they have those mutant zombies like on Left 4 Dead. In that case we're all going to die. :'(

In terms of weapons, I'd just get nothing but melee weapons. Long range weapons are too loud and hard to use. I look forward to combing through the zombies with my simple machete and gardening tools. >:)

If everything does go bad in winter, we just have to bundle up and look forward to eating ice cream until spring. Who needs dentists and medicare?! I do, so I'd probably add a dentist, doctor, or someone with medical experience to my group.

@Chamaelon: The answer to your question can be found in the following song by Johnathan Coultan. It's called Re: Your Brains
