Fall 57 512AV As the cooler air thickened into a more moderate temperature, Gallo knew he grew closer to the city he was tasked to. The young man, who wore heavy robes as well as a bag that held various traveling items appeared to be nothing but a tourist. Gallo had found the Kabrin Road and followed it off a tip from a friend. Soon his eyes were met with that of the great gate that served as Syliras' only exit and entrance. "Hmm, here I am. Not to late to turn back," Gallo thought to himself as his feet continued to walk toward the busy entrance. "Of course! Look at how obviously fortified it is. Yet," Gallo passed by the guards with a smile and a look of awe of the majesty of the city. "it would seem to be a false sense of security." Gallo continued to think to himself before he approached a guard who seemed to be there to help direct travelers. He waited as she spoke and directed people before him and approached her with a smile. "Hello," the young man seemed to be excited, "I've just arrived and unfamiliar with this city. I was wondering if you could direct me to the nearest place of rest and possibly get some food?" The knight sighed a little, "welcome to Syliras. I can suggest to you the Rearing Stallion Tavern for some food and ale. Right now, there is only one place to take up lodging now, The White Swan Inn." "Oh? Were their more options before?" Gallo asked curiously as he looked at the stone walls and tight alleys laid out ahead of him. "Yes, there was the Golden Dragon. It was destroyed during a storm, not that you'd be able to stay there boy." The knight responded dismissively. "But if you need a room, I'd suggest cleaning up a bit before going to the White Swan." Gallo looked at his garb, "what is wrong with what I wear right now?" "You smell horrible and look like you haven't had a proper bath in weeks. A vagabond and no one of importance." Gallo crooked his brow and stifled a retort. "Which way should I take in order to get to the White Swan?" Gallo asked as he wanted to end the conversation quickly. The knight waved a hand in a general direction and swiftly returned to a conversations with another knight. Gallo only stared for a moment before he turned around and started to head off in the general direction. "I'm going to kill you one day," he thought in anger to himself. It was mostly out of playful vengeance with an undertone of seriousness. Gallo began to make his way toward his destination but stopped off along the way to observe Sylirian life. Unconsciously he began to compare and contrast his home land to Syliras, so far, even without bias home seemed much more pleasant than this city. oocHello folks, would love to rp with people either at the Swan or later on in the thread at the Rearing Stallion. If your PC was around during the djed storm, that would be of some benefit to me. Basically, this is a socialization thread that is extended over two days in game time. |
