First Impressions
Summer 20th, 508 AV

The fish market today was bustling with locals, both civilian and merchant alike, when Ricky and Odis had made their way through. The street being swept by the feet of man, woman, fisherman, sailor, and every other type of person in this city. It's bustle slightly irritated Ricky as he was eager to reach the docks, had he known the market would be crowded today he would not have taken the scenic route. As Ricky did his best to gently nudge around some people, he lost his balance in the process; running into a stall to catch himself. "Hey! Watch whatcha doin you big headed brute!" A woman exclaimed as he turned around to apologize. "Sorry lass!" He said as he looked upon her, a humble smile now upon his lips. She had hair that was dirtier then sand in color, and eyes that seem to be the color of the ocean at night. Her frown meant that she wasn't happy however, as Ricky clearly had crossed a line.

"Yeah you better be sorry! If you had knocked over any of my stock you'd be regrettin it!" Her voice was firm if not somewhat subtle, and very aggravated by the sound of her tone. "Look lass I apologize! I'm in a hurry to-" She cut him off before he could finish, her brow creasing in a deep angry expression. "Apologize?! Does an apology cover the amount of money I lose in earnings?! Not likely if the quality is lost because of an accidental bump an overgrown idiot happens to do!" Her slightly tanned skin became red as she ranted on, her eyes now glaring at Ricky. He hadn't the slightest clue what to say or do, he just shrugged with his fishing kit and rod in hand.

When she looked like her head was about to explode from her aggravation, a card played by Ricky's companion was put in to play. "Hmmhmmmh." Odis whined to pull her attention, when the girl looked over the stall to see the pup her expression changed. Odis was playing the puppy dog stare with her, and was winning the game fast. When he licked his muzzle a grin appeared upon her face. "Why hello poochy!" She cheered in delight, she came around the stall to greet the pup. 'Poochy?' Ricky looked lost on that one, he has heard plenty of dog, pup, doggy, and puppy; but poochy? Really? 'This one is an odd ball.' He thought to himself as he gave a fake smile, watching the girl receive Odis' slobbery kisses with giggles.

"Dawh who's a good boy!" She eclaimed as she showed more affection than any stranger would, you would think that she was in love with the dog; but that's just how Odis was. When Ricky cleared his throat to get her though her smile faded, and her expression died down back to it's original state. "Hm. Cute dog." He stated when she stood up wiping the slobber from her left cheek, Odis looked happier then ever when she said that. "Ruff!" He barked in his blissful victory as he won her affection over, but her aggravation was still being directed at Ricky. "Oh you're a good boy! Yes you are!" She cheered as she looked to Odis, her attention now seperated amongst the two. She took a liking to Odis fairly quick, Ricky wasn't sure if Odis liked her or was saving his master from her fury though.

She went back behind the stall and leaned against it, looking to Ricky with curious but still aggravated eyes. "So your a fisherman. Are you a sailor? You look the type, like them pig headed women chasin types too." She said coldly without a second thought, Ricky scoffed with a chuckle after that. "Sailin is somethin I rather not do, and my pa taught me better then to be a skirt chaser." He retorted to her, Odis hid his head underneath a paw. His "oh boy" expression. She rolled her eyes at him, looking to the fishing kit Ricky carried. "How much to you catch?" She asked bluntly to him, he could help his next retort. "What? Women or fish? I hear there is plenty o' both in the sea." He smirked at her as he spoke, mixing it with a friendly grin. The girl laughed at his remark. "So your one of those types!" She pointed at him when she spoke, his humor seem to break through a little at least. "What a lame pun you pulled there." She said with a scrimpy grin, Ricky only shrugged in turn.

"If was my best one, which ya seem to like if yer laughin." He pointed out with a loose grin, she chuckled a bit. "Yeah I laughed at how bad it was! If that's your best you apparently don't get out much." She joked back with a teasing expression, Odis only watched the two of them with a wide doggie smile. "Huh yeah, afraid so. We haven't been properly introduced, call me Ricky." He said humbly in a attempt to make peace with the woman, holding out his hand for the proper greeting. She chuckled as she took his hand and shook, another teaser escaping from her. "Bad jokes and a bad name, aren't you livin' a lonely life then." She raised her eyebrows to show her exagguration, and grinned from ear to ear. "Telion Gullwin, though you can call me Tel." Ricky scoffed again after she said that, her grin disappearing quickly. "and I thought my name was bad." He joked to her with a smirk, her face now trying to reject the smile that was to follow. It was funny how they were teasing each other back and forth, even though they had just met.

"Touche Rick, touche..." She admitted defeat before him now, both laughing at together when she did. "Listen Rick I'm thinkin' about makin' a deal with you." She stated to him out of thin air, completely random to Ricky. "Uh, sure I guess. What did ya have in mind?" He asked in his humble tone again, bearing an open mind as to what she was about to offer. "You seem like a nice guy and I already love your poochy," She looked down to Odis with a wink, "and I'm actually lookin for suppliers for my stall. If you can catch quality fish then I'll pay you for them." Her smile was rather too friendly on this, but Ricky had a feeling that she was a good person to help out. Or was that his good nature just wanting to help her out? He gave a friendly smile back, seeing no harm to follow with it. "Hmm. Quality is more yer thing eh? Well what if I don't fish up to yer standards?" He quizzed with a curious expression, stroking his fuzzy chin while he asked. "I'm sure you do better then most, call it a hunch really." She winked to him now with a friendly smile, Ricky's grin was his natural reaction.

He gave it a moment to fill his mind, the perks of working with someone as outspoken as Tel. After a few chimes of thinking about the advantages and disadvantages, Ricky finally came to his decision in all of this.

"Ye have a deal lass." Ricky said as he humbly accepted her offer with a nod, seeing that while she may seem eccentric she was a good business partner. Ricky had usually just sell his fish to other merchants on the market after a day of fishing, being a supplying would practically do the same thing. With better results if he was lucky, but that was for another time. Now he had to talk more of their "partnership." Tel smiled wide after he gave his answer, her hazel eyes lit up with joy. "Fantastic! I just kne-" "One one condition though." He interrupted her bodly, surprising her with the sudden turn out. "Wait, condition?! I think I should be the one layin those out." She placed her hands on her waist in disappointment, but her look changed when she noticed Ricky was grinning. "What? What are you planning?" She demanded he answer, but he simply took his time. After all the wind was in his sail now.

"I'll accept if ya buy lunch, and we can talk the details while we eat." He proposed casually with a curious look, her face now blushing from the idea. "What?! Ricky are you askin' me on a date?" She insisted as she tried to hide her cheeks, Ricky laughed when she asked him. "No no lass, if it was gonna be a date I would pay. Alas it's just business, so you'll pay instead partner." He reassured her with a humble tone, keeping the conversation to a smooth easy progression. She giggled in delight at the sound of it still, somewhat charmed by his idea. "Deal!" She agreed gleefully with a little blush still showing, Ricky came around the stall and placed his equipment behind it.

"Okay, let's get lunch then!" He insisted to her with a eager grin, her face dropped to a confuse look. "Wh-wha? Now? But I have to run the stall!" She persisted as she shook her head, Ricky looked at her with a challenge. "It's lunchtime lass, and yer buyin it. Ya take brakes, I know ya can." He tested her as he began to drag her away, she laughed and hollared in refusal until she finally gave up. Realizing that Ricky was more of a bear than she thought, she finally submitted to his playful attempt. Leading the way to the grillmaster several stall's down, she ordered the horned sand fish for the two as they found a spot to sit at. Enjoying the veiw of the see as they began to enjoy their meal.

Finally Ricky was finishing what was left of his lunch as Tel fed the rest of hers to Odis, the dog now eating the fish with a gleeful tail wag. When Tel watched Ricky finish off the last bite of his meal he belched, making her hide the laugh that echoed in her chest. "Op, pardon me lass." He smirked with a grin as she shook her head, trying to shake off the inescapable laughter. She looked back to him with a friendly smile, or at least Ricky thought it friendly.

"Ok, so now that I won your attention finally, let's talk about our little business deal." She said with a casual like business voice, Ricky should've guessed that they would jump back to the subject. He leaned back and stretched as he relaxed, looking out to the distant blue of the cojoined sea and sky. Honestly he was just happy with what she would give him, if anything really. "Tell ye what, I agreed to be yer supplier. So how bout this; anytime I'm out fishin and yer in need of some I spare what I can. Ya can pay what seems fair, and that can be our little agreement." He simplified the terms to just that, seeing as how it would be easier to accept what he could, instead of trying to argue some sort of wage. She looked rather stunned by this, like he was suggesting a stupid idea really. It probably was in his case, but that mattered little now. He had an agreement to keep now, and he would make it as simple as he could.

"Your either really trustin or really idiotic, aren't you afraid I might con you out of a bad deal?" She implied to him with a curious look in her eye, Ricky only shrugged at her reply. "After the little discussion we had I don't think yer the type who con's anyone, besides coin is coin and I can happily oblige with what ye pay me." He reassured her with his what would be casual voice, keeping the coversation interesting now. She only shook her head at him with a grin.

"You are terrible with negotiation's." She pointed out, pulling her hair out from her face. Ricky charmed her with one of his friendly grin's, "I do my best, ye ain't so bad yerself." He joked to her poorly, she only looked at him with the "really?" face. Odis drew their attention with a belch of his own, causing the two to laugh together. They were on a good start to a business deal, and pretty soon they would become closw friends. All in time of course.

For now they would enjoy the rest of Tel's break, chatting and getting to know one another. For someone so outspoken she was actually rather quiet, listening on Ricky's stories about growing up with his dad. When she would speak it would usually be a manner of sharing a similar experience or make a joke. Indeed their business partnership had just been the beginning, as Tel would no doubt be a close friend to Ricky.

Great solo, you did some fun dialogue between them! One thing though, when a new character speaks you need to put their dialogue on a new line. You had Ricky and Tel saying their own lines multiple times over in one paragraph, when really you needed a new line each time the speaker changed. I enjoyed the thread though, would be enjoyable to see more from these two :) If you have any questions or concerns regarding your grade, please send me a PM and we can work from there.
