Kel continued after his little gem, each step bringing him a little closer to her, his body a symphony of motion as he ran and ran and ran. There couldn't possibly be a better feeling in all the world. He felt as light as air... I might as well be floating. Oho... I wonder what brought this on? Oh shut up Ash.
But Kel was obviously more amused than annoyed, his smile breaking out once mere as he weaved his way through branches the size of fully grown trees. Slowly he became aware of onlookers and passersby as he ran, some calling out and waving, others even letting out chuckles and catcalls. He laughed along with them and waved back, a strange comfort overcoming him...
The Spires. In this place people could smile, and laugh, and play. They could continue to their hearts content. Yes the surrounding jungles were dangerous. But here the people walk with their heads held high. And with that thought Kel himself ran with more confidence. He practically flew through the trees, his feet creating a steady beat that matched that of his heart. His breath even and controlled.
I could live for this. Heh. I could live for this too. Chasing pretty ladies through the woods all day. Makes ya feel giddy don't it? Ash! I'm appalled at you. But in truth Kel was barely able to suppress a laugh and Ash knew it. But he didn't press his little advantage, preferring to let Kel run free on this one... at least for now.
Slowly, oh so slowly, Kel began to catch up with his glittering little gem... And all my stuff. Kel could hear Ash's laughter at that, but chose to ignore it... at least until the little beauty in front of him began to toss his clothing over her shoulder, letting his equipment fall where it would.
He groaned in chagrin as she scattered his things. In the low hanging branches of trees, behind bushes, or even just left on the ground. One by one he saw his clothes distributed across the spires. He gave her retreating back a glare before taking a look around him. She's trying to slow me down isn't she? Yup. Though If I were you I would grab our clothes. You have time... I'm fairly certain she doesn't paln to leave us behind.
Kel shook his head as he slowed down to gather his gear, his hands a blur as he grabbed each item and moved along. Oh yeah I plan to get her for this. Ash just laughed, his mirth seemingly boundless at his brother souls distress.
.........
It took no longer than a few minutes for Kel to gather his items into a bundle and resume his chase, but still... he feared he had lost her. He followed the trail of clothing all the way to a stream running along one of the larger branches. How odd... a stream on a tree. Might as well follow it my friend. You don't have any other clues. Kel thought about it a moment, taking the time to stretch some of the tension from his muscles... until he spotted something in the moss beside the stream. The impression of a footprint, about half the size of his own.
Well now. It seems your right Ash. Kel smiled wickedly as he jogged along the stream to its source, his feet moving a little faster each second. Until, at last, he stumbled out into the light. He covered his eyes with a slight intake of pain, his vision swimming with the sudden change from dark to light.
But when his eyesight finally returned and he dropped his hand from his eyes... it was not his vision that reeled. It was his mind... Maybe even his heart. The bundle of clothes he had gone to so much trouble to gather up, once more fell to the ground forgotten, landing in a heap with the clothing already there. Kel's eyes roamed all around him, disbelieving, taking in the woman's clothes where they lay with his own, before he could manage to return his gaze to the vision before him...
So much beauty. His breath was completely stolen as he gaped openly at the dream, for surely that must be the truth of what he was seeing, in all her glory. Just the scenery was beautiful enough to make a man's heart soar. Sparkling waterfalls all flowing into a single central pool. The waters themselves crisp and clear. All around were beautifully scented blossoms, fantastical animals... And yet...
Kel beheld only one thing. A single radiant gem in the center of it all. Her skin dappled with glittering beads of water. Her hair dark and heavy around her shoulders... As he stared on, enraptured, a single drop ran down her golden cheek. Slowly it glided its way down her full lips, down and down until it was lost to his sight. The need to trace that little bead made him groan out loud, even as he tried to clamp down on such an uncharacteristic thought.
Sweet Gods. She is HOT. Ash PLEASE!! |
