A lawless town of anarchists, built on the ruins of an ancient mining city. [Lore]

"A servant of Dira?" Ignotus inquired sharply, a furrow already developing in his brow. "Where?"
He was an undead. Evalin was an undead. While she was likely- very likely- to have done more than he had to irk the Queen of the Dead... What if he had still done enough to be on the list? What if he was mistaken for her? Ignotus didn't like to admit it, but he was afraid. There was so much more he needed to do!
Fortunately, the witch's second question distracted Ignotus' mind long enough for him to break free of that corrosive train of thought. And get to work puzzling out another problem. He could not say he fought Sagallius without damaging his reputation in some way. So he would have to lie. Any God that was too powerful would be obvious, however, but it was unfair to him to pick a weak one. Yahal could work, but felt a little bit too fitting. It could be seen as false. Morwen never did anything to him, nor he to her. Priskil had the same problem as Yahal, compounded by the fact that she was relatively peaceful, and Tyveth was too powerful. Then again, perhaps Yahal could work... Yes. He would do nicely, Ignotus decided.
"Yahal did not like what I have been doing. I suppose living forever displeased him. It was a miracle I escaped him at all."
She'd believe him, right? Of course she would. She had to. Why wouldn't she?

"Yahal you say?" Evalin's brow furrowed, and suspicion lit her eyes, "You clashed with that righteous God of the Knights?"
Evalin's thoughts swirled as she turned this one over and over in her mind, the previous question of where she had met the servant of Dira lost in the sudden contemplation.
There was a pause in his speach... The familiar observed, and Evalin turned her head slightly as if to listen.
Think you his words be false then?
Think I that whole truths be lost in this conversation.
Evalin nodded slowly, perhaps a bit odd since no one spoke in the tick or two that passed, though perhaps Ignotus would think it was an acceptance of his words when she spoke again, "I see... I heard speak of this God from the Knights that I traveled with from Zeltiva. Perhaps with so many of those arrogant braggarts in one place he saw fit to follow close by..." Though skepticism still hung in her voice, Evalin looked at Ignotus and inquired, "What precisely could you have done to earn his fury? And how is it that one such as you could escape? It is not often that one can brag of fleeing safely from the God who holds such honor from the Knights of Syliras."
What purpose be there in lying? To face a God, any God, would be reason enough to boast. Could it be he has done no such feat?
Tsenrika's icy voice slipped between the folds of Evalin's pondering, Perhaps it be not the act that is false, but the identity of whom he speaks of...
Evalin's frown deepened, a troubled look crossing her face for but a moment, For what purpose should such information be hidden?
For what purpose is any information hidden?
The Immortal Witch's eyes looked over Ignotus with a greater intensity, Perhaps... to hide a secret of his own.

Wretched Aura: As a Wretched One Evalin possesses an unnatural aura about her that causes unease in those who get too close. It can come as a prickle of the hair on the back of the neck, a sense of 'wrongness' about her. How people experience it is different depending on their personality and how they handle the unnatural and unknown. Animals tend to become more agitated, more easily sensing how wrong Evalin is and often avoiding contact with her.

"Yes, that Yahal." Ignotus said. Evalin's doubt was not lost on the Nuit: his story needed to sell, lest Sagallius' mark become less secret than he would have preferred. Fortunately, that was easy enough for him. "As it turns out, sending a little girl to her death in exchange for immortality wasn't something he approved of. Evidently, he decided to take the opportunity to dispatch me without killing anyone else. Fortunately, good Gods have the same weakness as good men."
The Hypnotist smirked, and raised his open palm to his eye level. A globule of Res the size of a robin's egg drifted there, and Ignotus lazily observed its ripples and oscillations as he spoke. "They care too much about those around them. I would have expected Caiyha to save her forest friends, but..." the sphere burst into flames, and slowly petered down as the Res started to burn, "Not him. Perhaps he knew that his dear Knights would be caught in the blaze if left unchecked. Perhaps he simply liked squirrels. Or maybe it just distracted him. Whatever the reason, it gave me time to escape."
The last of the Res went out in a plume of smoke, and Ignotus shrugged. "Or it could have been the lightning bolt. That could have slowed him down too." Finally, the wizard turned his gaze back towards the witch-child flying with him. "Does that answer your question?"
