Sunberth--Spring 15, 513 AV
Afternoon

A loud yawn passed Thorn's lips as he guided his mule down an empty street of Sunberth, pulling the reigns every now and again to avoid a trash-heap or a homeless person on the side of the road that got in the way of his cart. He could practically smell the vagik from behind his medical mask that he almost always wore to hide his appearance, making him wrinkle his nose in disgust at the fact. Pulling a strap tighter on his face, he tried to focus on the road, but became lost in his own thoughts despite the fact that there were black clouds rising in the distance.

The whole place smelled like skyke that day, along with the overpowering smell of smoke. He couldn't claim that he himself wasn't as fresh as roses, as he had just been traveling for the last week, but in comparison to what he was seeing, he would have smelled godly. Again he had to wonder why he even came to such a rat-infested and gods-forsaken city that particular afternoon, but then he remembered: low morals and low life-expectancy, which is just what he needed.

Being a Nuit, Thorn wasn't accepted in very many places, especially the more superstitious and secluded towns on the road, but he knew that it was in cities where he could disappear if needed. It was cities that gave him the anonymity to go about his business when he wanted to be undisturbed and, if he wanted to continue his research, he needed to stand out as little as possible in that circumstance. But, seeing as it wasn't a rare occurrence for a person to get mugged/stabbed/murdered/all-manner-of-unwholesome-things, it was also a great place to offer his healing arts. He still wasn't sure if there were any other physicians in the city or which part they might even be located - hells, he didn't even know where he was going to be staying - but he knew that one could never have too many doctors in a city where you could more likely be stabbed than go out for breakfast.

After considering the fact that it was odd for him to yawn in the first place and how living of a thing it was to do so, Thorn directed his cart into where he assumed the marketplace was located. He only thought this because there men and women with stalls set up and advertising their wares through loud calls in an attempt to get a customer. A smile crept at the corner of his face from behind the mask, knowing it was the perfect time to advertise his own services.

Finding and navigating to an empty place where he could set up his stall was a more difficult process than Thorn had anticipated, as he had to push past more than a few crowds of people. Seeing as his cart was much larger than the average pedestrian, there were many pardon me's and make way's, but he was eventually able to navigate his way to a blank wall where he could set up his stand.

Jumping off his seat and stepping onto the side of the cart, Thorn pulled a large canvas tarp that covered his assorted equipment, actually a little surprised that he still retained it all. Searching through it for a moment, he finally pulled out a sign that proclaimed, "PHYSICIAN" in large red letters. Hooking it to the side of the cart, he also produced a table that sat on four legs, which he set up at the front of what he now considered to be his stand.

Placing his medical kit on the table, along with a ceremonial incense that he lit to hopefully provide the feeling of calm and health, Thorn began to call, "Citizens of Sunberth, are you ill? Do you have a wound that festers and rots? Bring me your sick and wounded! Smelling salts for vitality, medicine for pain, and I also specialize in surgery for those with gangrene or stabbings!

Looking around the Seaside Market from behind his mask, Thorn knew that whether these people knew it or not, he would save them. Dragging and screaming? Perhaps.

A Little Medicine

Michaela was walking down one of the side alleys in Sunberth; she decided that she was going to go to the market to see if she could pick up some stuff that she would need. When she got there she noticed that there was a new stall that was set up against the bare wall. She slowly walked over to it and seen a sign with bright letters. Physician eh? Well that was something new. I went over to the tent to see what was going on. When did this person come here and what was he selling. As I got even closer I noticed that he was a doctor. Did he really think that one doctor could heal all the people here. He would be over-whelmed for sure. I went up to him and started a conversation.

“Hey welcome to Sunberth; are you new here?”
I love to RP if anyone wants to create one and needs people or want to do a 1-on-1 just let me know :) I love to RP :) And I am up for any!

The doctor narrowed his eyes a little from behind his mask at the approaching creature. His specialization really dealt with humans, but he figured if she needed pain relief or a cut healed he could manage it.

Looking the female up and down, he had to wonder if he had ever met her before, as she seemed a little familiar, but couldn't seem to see clearly enough through his mask. Putting down his hands that had been raised to get any customer's attention, the Doctor waved to the speaking figure.

"Thank you, it is a pleasure to be at the service of Sunberth's citizens! How did you know that I am new here?" As Thorn spoke, he tried to sound as human as he could manage, talking in short quick sentences and sounding happier than anyone had the right to be.

Something about him was off. Something ... Michaela couldn't really figure it out yet ... She looked around ... "Because I come here to this market almost every day and I have never seen you around or have a stall here; also I wander around this city all the time and I have never seen your face around here before." Michaela said as she answered his question as quickly and straight to the point as she could.

A Little Medicine

Thorn placed one arm across his chest and propped an elbow on it with his other, touching his fingers against the beak of his mask in a pondering gesture. In his whole existence, he had met few enough Zith, but he was sure the one standing before him had to have been the most odd one he had the opportunity to meet. Mostly for the fact that she wasn't trying to eat him or take him as a slave, but also because of the way she spoke - almost human, it sounded to him.

Still trying to shake off the feeling that he had met the Zith somewhere before, Thorn made subtle nodding gestures with his head as he said, "Then you must be familiar with this fair city, indeed! Yes I do happen to be new here, came in this morning, to be precise."

Raising his hand as if he had forgotten something, the Doctor took of his hat and bowed as he said, "Forgive me, I have not introduced myself! I am known as 'Doctor', but those who know me well simply call me 'Doc'."

Standing upright again and replacing his hat on his clothed head, he continued, "What can I do for you this fine day, Miss-. . ."

"I am sorry I seem to have forgotten my manners. My name is Michaela. What brought you to such a horrible place as Sunberth?" I asked him, thinking that he might make a good slave, but he is a doctor and probably had many tools behind his stall, and it was daylight out, which was hard for me to be stealthy especially with blending in so well. So I am going to befriend him and see where it goes from there.

(So, this is actually a bit after those fires and my character was actually pretty damn injured so he's going to visit doc)

Nemanjak knows just one place where to find that doctor, the marketplace. He got up, barely feeling the pain of the fires. He grabbed something like a cane, and began to walk towards the marketplace. The pain, it was really something, even after these days, nothing had changed, it still hurts. He made it to the marketplace, watching everywhere for a clue of where that doctor might be. He read, food, water, tent and all that, but no doctor. He checked one stand, and there it says physician. He thought of checking that one out.

He went to the stand to see a human and a Zith. He walked towards them, throwing away the cane. He grabs the table, which was the only reason he was still on his feet and said: "You the doctor? With those words his grip fails him and he falls. He grabs the table again and says: "Fires, blazes were here a few days ago, saved two houses, last time I do something good, look at me! Nemanjak had cuts old and new, bruises and burns on him. He had short hair and some muscles, but not a lot.

I grabbed onto the man that was gripping really hard on the table. I looked at the doctor. "you must help this man. He is severely injured." I said to him looking really worried. The fires have been taking a pretty big toll on everyone. I sighed ... Sunberth was getting worse and worse each season.

As I worked with my friend's golden ring I felt a burning senstation on my thumb as I look down I see my thumb's fingernail had melted and was smoking. I cursed out my self for being so dumb and I rushed to get a bottle of whiskey and poured it on my burn as I rushed down to the marketplace to see if they was a doctor because of all the fires that have been going on. As I get to the marketplace I see they are a odd looking man with two people in front of him with one badly burned and the other helping the man. I throw down the whiskey and ask the doctor for help. " Doc I need some help I done burnt my damn thumbnail to my thumb I feel like cutting it off." As I stand there I also notice the person next to me has extreme burns. So I decided to let him go first. I sit on the ground and waited for the doc to fix me up.
