Season of Spring, Day 90, 513 AV
Jantys wasn't usually one to take walks in the woods. In fact, Jantys had only ventured out a few times in his life. As a Syliran Knight, he knew he'd have to learn how the world of trees and grass worked eventually, but he didn't have to like it. Thus, though the sun was shining, the air was clear with a slight breeze, and the birds chirped in the trees, Jantys was as moody as he ever was.
The middle-aged squire was showing some signs of his training taking hold; he had developed a more definite shape, almost like an actual human being, but there was a long way to go before he was anywhere near the physical ability of your average knight. Despite his improvements, he still found the walk tiring, especially in full kit, which he had insisted he bring along in case of attack.
He wasn't alone in the walking, though. He probably wouldn't have gone and done it without some kind of partner in mind; for one it would be boring (although Jantys didn't usually find a whole bunch of entertainment in other people), and for another, he wasn't about to start this particular part of his squire experience without the push of someone else.
Stopping for a moment, he pants a little heavily (trying to mask the sound behind his gauntlet so that his companion wouldn't notice) and turns back to her. "Do you know where, exactly, these caves are, or should we just stumble in the right direction until we die of exposure?" His tone had hints of sarcasm, grumbling ill will, and general world-weariness, but that was just his usual pessimism. He was actually rather enjoying the walk for once.
