When Savio finally opened his eyes with a groan, he was greeted with the sight of a small sobbing boy. The blonde boy was babbling on about something, but from what Savio could gather, the kid was in trouble. Savio narrowed his slate colored eyes and looked past the boy to see a shouting man running towards them. Adean was able to help Savio and the boy to their feet, but Savio held the boy close to him, moving the trembling child behind his back protectively.
Adean cursed loudly as he saw the raging drunk heading their way. “That bastard is going to bring the Knights down on our heads!”
Savio’s friends all scattered into the shadows, leaving him alone with the crying boy. He cursed colorfully under his breath as he grabbed the child’s hand and took off running too, guiding him away the best he could. He could still hear the angry shouts behind them. Where could he go?!
The kid said something about the forest? Perhaps that would dissuade the man from continuing his chase.
