12th day of Spring, 501 AV.
Location: The Learning Gallery.
Time of day, between 6th and 7th Bell.
Nakiru felt like he was on some grand adventure. His young imagination working overtime, filling his head with how it might be. It was to be his first day at the The Learning Gallery, and little Nakiru was immensely excited. His mother had given him strict orders not to wonder from the path she'd shown him the day prior. He didn't have any trouble so far, he could handle this, that was for certain.
Confident foot falls continued to lead him along the path his memory carved out for him. There were so many places in the city he'd never been, so many sights he was eager to see. Each path that would lead him astray, he marked in his mind for a future adventure. He would explore the whole city one day, he was sure of it!
Eventually, he found himself winding through the cavern pass that lead into the Yasi Training Center. He could hear the laughter and noise of other children as he neared the cavern's opening. Then all at once, he saw it. The tunnel opened up into a huge, sprawling cavern. It was a grand sight, and a moment that would stick with him for the rest of his days. Excitement poured over him again, but he tried not to show it. Why? He didn't want to seem like every other Yasi. Because he wasn't every other Yasi. He was special, he was going to be an Endal one day, there wasn't a doubt in his mind. Youthful confidence, an ignorant but powerful thing.
It didn't take long for an adult to approach him. With a friendly, but stern tone in their voice, the grown up spoke, "What is your name, little one?" Nakiru matched the gaze of the towering adult, "I am, Nakriu." The adult smiled, "So you are.. come, let me show you around.. how does that sound?" Nakiru smiled wider than he meant to, betraying his own excitement at the thought of exploring and meeting everyone. Eagerly, he followed the tutor, paying crisp attention the entire time. He wanted to be the best student, because only the best, were chosen...
