With nothing but themselves to keep the boy afloat, it was a great struggle to get him ashore; they did manage it in the end and once Addy had the child up onto the rocks, she too climbed out, moving behind the other ginger to try and keep the crowd back. "Come on, let her work, just stay back!" Healing wasn't something Vira knew much about, though she'd spent her fair share of time in the infirmary historically.
Why wasn't the boy moving, though?
The teen watched as Addy worked to push the fluid from the kids lungs and get him breathing again. Talk about a change of pace! The day had promised to be fun and exciting, but this was definitely not what she had in mind. But the boy was in good hands as Addy compressed and breathed until at last his lungs got going and forced the water out with sputtering and gagging coughs.
But the fright wasn't over yet! Vira frowned deeply when the boy said it hurt when Addy tried to tilt his head to prevent him swallowing water again. His head and back? Paralysis? That wasn't good! His cries for his mother did go answered while Addy continued trying to get the boy to calm down and tell her what and where it hurt. No sooner answered then the woman who had previously been hollering appeared, surging past the masses to try and collapse upon her son. "Hey, come on he's hurt! You're gonna make it worse, miss!" She said, reaching for her shoulders with both hands as Addy commanded attention once again.
Though hysterical, the dame did obey, sobbing and sniffling even as Vira pulled her away, offering a friendly shoulder to cry on for the moment, to which the woman took full advantage of and buried her tear streaked face into the hollow of the chiet's shoulder. "Addy, what can I help with?" Vira asked, gently patting the mothers back and rubbing it to soothe her. "Should we send for the infirmary? If his back is hurt or neck is broke, shouldn't we get some more to help get him back there?" She remembered Addy telling her in spring that she was a healer. Did she have the ability to mend this child without aid? Vira hoped so!
