Howdy,

There are a few issues that need to be addressed before I give approval for this business plan.

First, the cost of goods and services seem fine. Understandably, the various games will have widely varying costs and so on. That said however, the assets section is the part that needs a bit of ironing out.

The use of slaves as labor for this establishment is fine, however, based on Goss' new ruling on slaves and their use in Kenash (please take a look in the Kenash forum), you need to pay either income to the slaves based on their roll and duties OR pay their living expenses. Now, living expenses for the average slave performing general labor are .5 gm a day or 45 gm a season PER slave (poor lifestyle). For an establishment dealing in image and appearance with slaves interacting with customers on a regular basis, living expenses are 1.5 gm a day or 135 gm a season PER slave (common lifestyle). This is due to the need for cleanliness, etiquette training/education, health, etc.

So if we were to take the 11 slaves you have as dealers, barmaids and bartenders, the cost is going to be 1,485 gm per season which is far far beyond what you could afford. Even if just those 11 slaves were paid at the poor level, you still would come out .5 gm a day short and would be making zero profit and be unable to pay back your loan.

Another issue is that do you really want slaves handling currency? Also, security? If you are going to be dealing with a lot of money changing hands, it may be good to have some form of security to keep things in check.

For the slaves fighting in cage fights, they would likely have a poor lifestyle and would cost 45 gm a season PER slave to maintain. That is assuming that these fights are not to the death else you will have to figure out how many fights there will be per season and add up all the slaves that would be killed. So, 10 fights in a season equal 10 slaves killed and this leaves you with having to either purchase slaves (paying for them out of pocket) or finding some other way to acquire them. That would be something handled between you and the storytellers in Kenash.

For the other assets, you don't really need to buy extra tables and chairs as the various structures come with some basic essentials such as said tables and chairs/benches, etc. However, at the Simple quality of these structural components (tavern, common room, office, etc.), you are looking at something of a rough looking place that is lacking any real luxury at all. If that is what you are looking for then that wouldn't be an issue.

Now, considering you would be unable to maintain all the slaves you are including in this business plan, I would suggest scaling down a bit and maybe going with the 1 bartender and barmaid needed to run the tavern (3 gm a day total for both after paying their common living expenses for both) and do the card dealing yourself. Throw in a tad bit of some form of combat skill and you could also serve as your own security. You could pay someone to deal the games for you but each dealer is going to run you an extra 1.5 gm PER slave per day. You could adjust your starting skills to maybe go with persuasion, and go the con-man route with dealing card games as a lore to base your income off of. This way you could get seasonal xp and wages based on persuasion. Eventually, your skill level would rise and with it your income. Then you could afford to maintain more slaves, better and grow your business. Those are my suggestions anyway to help you make this business more likely to work and be approved.

As a side note, remember you must also get NPC approval for any and all slaves you wish to have and/or employ.

Hey Gillar,

Thanks for the wonderful feedback. As explained via PM, I've completely overhauled the Den...it's now a brothel as opposed to a casino. As Jaadis is going to be the madam of said brothel and handle all financial dealings, I kept her profession as Shopkeeper as opposed to prostitute or masseuse...but if you think a different title fits her, I'm all ears. for I apologize for the trouble, and hopefully this time my business plan will be satisfactory. Thanks again.
