Syveris rubbed her arm, trying to get rid of the pain. She had been on a fight the day before, and her arm, the part of her body that had been punched the most, still hurt a lot.
It had started when a Yasi boy (whose name she didn't remember, but would be sure to check sometime), slighter shorter than her, made fun of her for playing alone. It wasn't like she actually enjoyed it, but if the alternative was playing with Yasi like him, she was glad to be by herself. Of course, the boy had kept annoying her, and after a short while she snapped. So, like she did many times, she punched him.
However, the boy was stronger than he looked, and he easily fought back. It had hurt every time he punched her, but she wasn't one of giving up. It finally got the attention of the Chiet in charge of them, and, at first, the woman had been concerned about her. When she found out that Syveris hadn't really broke anything, she had been furious. At the boy, mostly. She had thought it was his fault the fight had started, and Syveris didn't bother correcting her. The boy had tried to defend himself, but since he had a reputation of getting into fights and Syveris had got much more hurt than him, the Chiet didn't believe him. Besides, the woman was probably new, otherwise she would've known that Syveris' reputation wasn't much better than the boy's.
That didn't mean she wasn't mad at Syveris too. She had gone on and on about how fighting wasn't allowed, and that she was too young to fight and many more things Syveris hadn't bother with. As a punishment, she would do an extra bendi on the next morning. That was what annoyed the Yasi the most. She had been assigned to the Kitchens, and she had hated it. It wasn't like she hated the people who cooked. Actually, she was grateful to all of them. She just hated the Kitchens. That was all.
So she was there now, in front of the Kitchens' doors. Her whole body was sore, and there were purple marks on her belly and arms, but most of the scratches were all right, except for a tiny one on her lip. That was still hurting a lot.
Syveris looked inside the Kitchens, wondering if she should go in. Well, she should, but that didn't mean she would. Snickering, and then scowling because of the pain on her lip, she backed away from the Kitchens. Maybe she would be punished, if she was found out, but that was unlikely. The Chiet had more important things to do than follow her steps, and it wasn't like she would stay in a place where everyone could see her.
Besides, she really didn't want to work on the Kitchens. It wasn't exciting, it was't really challenging, and she couldn't really cook, anyway. So she simply decided she wouldn't do bendi in the Kitchens. It wasn't like she was going to be of any help, and she sure wasn't going to work there when she grew up.
Shrugging, she laid on a wall, near the Kitchen but far enough so she couldn't be seen from there. She was glad that she wound't have to spend a whole day doing some annoying bendi. Syveris closed her eyes, wondering what she should do until it was time to go back.
