"Half starved? Haddy, the hunger was biting me a little bit but that was not what was really the problem. Being fatigued to the point of having trouble walking was the issue."Coming into the Swan they were met with a critical gaze from the next waiter in line. First looking at the appearance of the two odd characters, the swell of Hadrian's belly and finally the pouring rain outside. Making a decision on the spot the gaze turned into something more accepting of the two as they were led out of the comfy looking lounge and seated immediately. Sitting father away from the center their waiter opted to place the two slightly out of sight as he ran off his introductions.
"So nice to the Swan have patrons despite the weather outside. My name is Will and I'll be serving you this evening. Today's lunch menu consists of a five course meal consisting of various recipes including a few servings of bread, either a chilled or hot soup along with an assortment of fruits and vegetables for starters, then a few select cuts of our finest cattle or swine, an assorted variety of avian roasts or otherwise broiled bird and finally some fresh fare from the sea's bounty. Shall we get started?"Only nodding back to Bolivar seemingly out of habit behind Will someone was already carrying a tray basket filled to the brim with bread. All coming in every shape and side thought possible. Bolivar was no expert on bread but the small peculiar looking ones with seeds attached to them caught the squire's eye. Quickly making their selections the pair was presented with an assortment of accompaniments to go along with their choices. Jams, cheeses butter and some sort of paste made out of a nut (as told by the waiter.)
His gaze going back to Hadyn in a conspiring smirk waited for no invitation to enjoy their fare. Talking will come naturally while they were tasting a bit of everything. Sweet, foreign tastes bombarded the squire's tongue as he took his first few bites into the bread. The seeds also turned out to be a pleasant surprise for Bolivar as well. The crisp crunch giving a welcomed new perspective on how bread should be enjoyed. Will bowing out after his introduction was done left the two to enjoy their meal to their heart's content.
"This is something else isn't it? I have never been served like this. In such a way. This is spectacular!"Drinks were quickly provided at their request and a slight warmth could be felt from Bolivar throughly enjoying the experience. No doubt made doubly so sharing the experience with an acquaintance of sorts. If Hadyn made an impression on him when they first met Bolivar hoped that this more then made up for the lost time between the two.
"Where was I? Oh!" Already on his third piece of bread Bolivar found a hard balance between holding a conversation and simply enjoying the bounty before them.
"Traveling so far on the road with little help it was simply astounding how my legs started to give. So simple yet it becomes the bane of many a traveler."Wondering if he could simply start eating the cheeses outright Bolivar made a move for the nut paste that he hadn't heard of before.
"Though that story is for another time. Was it Spring or Summer coming to Syliras? I barely get a look at the watchtowers while I am out and about."
Trying out the odd paste between sentences. A cautionary sniff. A nibble or two. Finally a willing bite and Bolivar found himself pleasantly surprise. Motioning to Hadyn at the taste Bolivar quietly tried to remember what exactly happened earlier these past few seasons.
"Nothing comparable to you I am sure but I am making what I think are steps forward in what I do. I enlisted shortly after your little rescue. I talked to a lord knight and now the day I become a knight should come by Spring at the latest. At least that's how it seems to me."None too bashful in showing how accomplished he felt Bolivar looked to be finished with the handful of small bread bites he had started with. Will showing up soon after presenting Bolivar with his choice of either a hot or cold soup and whatever plant he wanted with it. Quickly choosing a hot soup for the Fall season along with a few leeks and chives Bolivar went to work on the next course.
"Other then that. I've also taken an interest in the goings around town. Solved me the missing squires problem and keeping tabs on some goings of a certain character. One of which unintentionally having me fall head over heels with a barmaid over at the Stallion. I got into a fight with my roommate over her. For assorted reason."Trying to keep the conversation light Bolivar pursed his lips wondering what else he could share with Hadyn. No doubt that the subject of magic was to be avoided and even though she knew how to craft a weapon didn't necessarily mean she extensively trained with one. What else about him could he tell her?
"Did you know the rogue knight even saved this girl from him? At least that's what she said. Quite the profile on him from what I have so far."
