After a couple weeks of work, I am finally able to present to everyone an official list of Mizahar Travel Times. There has been no small amount of confusion regarding this topic so hopefully this Lore Article will help clear things up.

Currently, only the distances and travel times for Land Routes are included save for one Sea Route section for Syliras. I will be adding Sea Routes and travel times for Islands shortly.

From this moment forward, please use the travel times listed in the new Lore Article regardless of the times that may have been used in the past.

Finally, I had to make a number of assumptions and estimations in order to put all of this together. The travel times and distances are for the fastest, most accessible routes from one place to another and take into account terrain such as mountains, desert, jungle, forest, tundra and grasslands as well as the only real road in Mizahar, the Kabrin Road. While it all may not be perfect in every single detail, it should work as a standard for all travel in the game.

From this point on, all travel times will refer to this page in the wiki and these charts. Anything stated before is null and void, including the Distance Chart and any other travel distances referenced on the game prior to this point. We are moving forward with these travel times and distances as the standard.

Thank you for your understanding.

Travel Times For Land Routes Are Now In The Wiki

Wondering if I'm in the wrong place to ask this, or should I have gone down to Q&A section...
Anyways, out of curiosity, for a ghost traveling, is it safe use a slightly different travel times?

As in, take the amount of days required(not counting Winter double rates, nor wagon penalties), and multiply that by fourteen, and having that as the total amount of hours saved on traveling.

Or basically: [Travel Time in Days]-(([Travel Time in Days]*14)/24)
Note that this is somewhat of a rough work, and probably needs fine tweaking for the odd hours here and there. This also doesn't account for the terrain traverse speed(which should make it a few days faster travel for ghosts, considering they just somewhat 'hover'.)

This is assuming the living does not travel for more than 8-10 hours a day(as said as the average stand point on the lore page). This is also assuming the ghost is not carrying anything, and is traveling by itself, or with only ghosts as companions. Also assuming the ghost travels along the same path the living travels upon.

Shiyami, I've updated the Travel Times to account for ghosts as well as for zith, akvatari and kelvic birds. More updates still to come including the Sea Routes.

An additional note to everyone else regarding the Travel Times as a whole, I intentionally left out details on the majority of the math used to figure the distances and times. I didn't feel like having naysayers question me on ever mathematical detail. The actual equations I used were relatively simple with some slight modifiers for different variables.

There has been too many assumptions on the part of too many people over the years since Mizahar was founded regarding just how big or small the continent is and how long it would take to travel from one point to another. Some people may feel it should be bigger others may feel it should be much smaller. In the end, I made the decision to pick a direction and go for it. For those of you who have long desired some official numbers to go by, hopefully I have helped with that and I will continue my attempts to expand and refine it for your use.

For those of you who may not be all that pleased with what I've done, all I can say is thank you very much for your constructive assistance in putting this all together :smirk:

Another Update to share; I've added in a section on Travel Preparation/Expenses/Maintenance. This section layouts out the items needed before one can undertake an extended journey such as going from city to city. It also gives some information on the benefits of having the Wilderness Survival Skill and/or hunting and fishing.

Another update that is Travel related but will also affect those of you who have purchased the Roaming Wanderer Housing Package (the one with the tent and horse and associated gear). Added to that particular Housing Package, chosen as part of a new character's Starting Package, is a Compass. Thus anyone choosing the Roaming Wanderer package with the tent, horse and associated gear, now gets a compass as well.

A NOTE TO ALL WHO ALREADY CHOSE THIS PACKAGE AS THEIR HOUSING OPTION AT THE BEGINNING OF PLAY: You may add a compass to the list of items you received as a part of the package. If you chose this package at the beginning and then bought a compass at a later date, you can add the 200 gm that you spent on the compass back to your ledger.

Some other highlights of the update: Wildnerness Survival will allow you to actually travel on foot over extended distances. Higher levels of that skill will reduce your travel times. Wilderness Survival, Fishing and/or Hunting will reduce the amount of food rations needed for a single journey.

I included the basic cost of preparing for a city to city journey.

Sea Routes and related material should be coming this weekend.

I've updated and added to the Sea Routes for Syliras. Their are distances and times listed for all (hopefully) of the ports between Syliras and Zeltiva. As the weekend progresses, I will try and get more Sea Routes in for major port cities. Likely I will only be doing Sea Routes for the port cities that are involved with heavy trade and traffic as well as for islands.

Where most of the Land Routes included distances and times only for those places one could travel in a single season, Sea Routes will extend a bit further. They will likely include destinations that are within a season and a half from the starting point.

From the Sea Route distances and times listed for Syliras, you can see that even trade and travel by ship can take quite some time. Thus cities that are trading with one another via Sea Routes, will find that any trade done with those cities located far away will be rather limited in amount and availability.
