Right folks, I have a little question for you all. We have an interesting mixture of veteran players and newer players here so I thought we could have a little discussion about some PC related things.

So I'm in a scary mood today (please no Scary Skerry jokes

) so we shall delve into the darker side of things where your PCs are concerned.

What are the most frightening situation or situations that your PC has found themselves in?

Now this can be something that happened in a past thread or something that happened sometime in their history but which you haven't got around to writing. If you haven't thought about it before then this could provide you with flashback material and better insight into your character.

And because I can never stop at one:

What is your PC's biggest fear?

Yay Questions!

I don't know if this is a testament to the awesome STs in this city, but I can genuinely say for Ainyi that the riots has been the most frightening situation she's ever been in. I don't even think I can elaborate how here, since it's better encapsulated in the riot thread I'm doing with Edric. But seriously, being forced in a situation to kill her own people is something she's just never imagined, and she's going to have some serious PTSD to deal with come Spring time.

As for what Ainyi's afraid of, I think that she's most afraid of magic and deities. I don't think she fully understands them. I think that she's been pretty isolated from them most of her life, and there hasn't been a lot of magic around her, at least from what I can feel out, and I think she'd be really suspicious of almost any magic user, gnosis marked person, or overly zealous priest/priestess.

I'd have to say that the most terrifying IC moment for Edric has been going on in our thread, Skerry. With Iona and him trapped out in the Unforgiving in the midst of a blizzard, Wingard realizes how human he really is. His greatest asset, which is his sight, is suddenly eliminated and he is now stuck relying on another individual who he sees as somewhat incapable. It is frightening to him to have to be so vulnerable and dependent.

In terms of fears, Wingard does not necessarily fear anything tangible. To him, feeling trapped by his own ignorance is the worst punishment he could ever receive and he is determined to hinder that from happening.

Jumping the wall and knowing the people she loves are after her.

Her worst fears are steeped in her Symenestra upbringing.

I really haven't touched on the most terrifying moments in his life yet, but on the day before the Djed Storm of 512AV, Turrin was compelled to venture into Underground Forest by the apparition of his father. When he comeback to Wind Reach, the city is in ruins and he finds out his mother and sister died in the disaster.

Turrin biggest fear is not being accepted by Myri as a warrior because of his Inarta heritage, and not being accepted by the Inarta for his Myrian heritage.

Keeping on with the theme, why your PC fears what they fear? Did they had some experience that made them fear isolation, ignorance, magic...?

Wingard's fear is something that is hardly understood by many, considering Wind Reach thrives in their ignorance of everything aside from themselves. His annoyance with not knowing comes from his nomadic mother's influence. She always preached the importance of travel and the world, thus opening his eyes to everything he never imagined or thought of because of his upbringing in Mount Skyinarta. When she left for the final time, he always wondered what was so great out there that was more important than him, her son. Thus, Edric hopes to one day see the greatness that goes beyond Northern Kalea so he can understand.

Why did you choose Wind Reach as your character's home, or momentary stopping point?
