Blue Elk Quest

HD TICKET

Hey guys, so I got approval for your exciting quest. There are still two parts to do and they will both take place this season. This quest will take up the whole first week of Spring so please keep that in mind. Furthermore, the rewards are great but so are the challenges. I would recommend keeping this in mind before doing threads soon after this quest as you will likely be recovering from some wound or another.

Because of the nature of the quest there will be no post order at the beginning. I will post at least once a week, more if you both post within the week, and so forth. This Quest is very open ended and it will be up to you guys to progress the plot. I am here to set the stage and narrate that which you do not know.

While you are journeying to the tower feel free to control any and all surroundings, make the travel as exciting as you would like. Want a pack of wolves to attack? Go for It! Want to fall in a river? Go for it!. Once at the tower, please leave the setting alone for me to control.

Please explain everything you have on you at the beginning of the thread, you may not add anything to your pack once the thread has begun. I will post a copy of your skills here when you begin so that we have a nice reference and despite how long this quest may take you can continue to accumulate grades and keep your CS up to date without it impacting our quest. (I will do this once you have posted your first post here, and include everything you have decided to bring with you. You are limited to 10 items, so pick them wisely!)

I will write up the first post to get this quest started right away. But while you are waiting (if you are....XD) feel free to think about what those 10 items are going to be.

~Una

Update: Hey Guys, I know you have been waiting for a while for the first post but I got some good advice from more seasoned ST's that (especially with the backup) I should make sure your guys threads have been graded so you can start with everything you have earned. I am wading through the grade list (Your guys threads are all long T_T :p Love it!) so once that is done we will get started! <3

Blue Elk Quest

OOCIt is going to take me a bit to get through all the grading so lets get started. When I grade anything with you two in it that occurs before this quest I will add it to the skills here.

The two awoke on their backs the grassy cathedral rose around them and stars formed a high dome above them as they came out of the dream. They had just awoken from another of the horrible nightmares that had permeated several of their nights since the Blue Elk hunt. The night was cold and crisp, snapping over their skin moistened from sweat.

When they rose, they would recognize the field as the place where the creature had been struck down. Their bodies laying in the same spot where his blood had soaked the grass. They had awoken at the height of Leths domain, the sun several hours from rising.

On the ground between them the large blue horns lay. Blue and silver battled over its surface, changing and shifting quickly a gentle chiming wafting like perfume from its surface. They would draw both of the Inartans to it, both would feel desperation bloom on their skin. Beginning in their ears where the chiming sound would become louder and louder until it sounded like massive bells. From there it would creep, making the skin on their arms rise and goose bumps rise over their body, downward until it reached their toes.

Turrin will not be able to help jealousy scratching at his insides when he sees her reach for them. Meanwhile, she will see the elks face before her again, his breath billowing around her. His breath will form long ghostlike extensions of steam in the night air. Slowly his breath will form hands which coldly clasp hers guiding her hands to her head, placing the elks horns amongst her tangled hair.

As she places the horns atop her head the chime noise will cease until only the typical night sounds permeate the air. Crickets will begin to chirp and night creatures will howl in the distance. Even these sounds will begin to fade away as she begins to glow. Like broken glass, the blue glow begins as a crown along her brow and moves down to her toes.

Slowly, her body will stretch painfully as if each bone is literally growing and shrinking. Her nose will elongate, her lower jaw growing quickly until her head resembles a delicate does. Her eyes will grow and pulse, eyelashes curling up and away. Her shoulder blades flatten and grow out, breaking against her other bones like tectonic plates. Her body contorts as each bone grows at different rates, making her an unrecognizable mass. Several bells later, in her place stands a tall lithe blue elk.

Her face is deep cerulean blue fading to a pale periwinkle at her tail. Her inner lengths, thighs and stomach are a creamy white. Black brown eyes are framed by the curling extensive antlers that frame the sides of her face and upward. She cannot speak. Aponivis silhouette can be seen amongst the stars but she makes no effort to speak to Turrin and if Turrin attempts to speak to her she makes no response.

She had no idea where she was. Somehow she had left her bed during the night and ended up somewhere entirely different. It was dark and cool, the night air chilled upon her dewed skin. How she had grown so sweaty she didn't know. Rising from her prone position the first thing that she noticed was Turrin, the man who had been lying beside her. That only added to her confusion. Gazing around her, Azira recognised the place where she stood. She had revisited this place in dreams though she had normally seen it in the light of Syna. She would have thought that it was a dream if it wasn't for the presence of the Endal. He had never appeared in her dreams before and another thing was that she felt awake. If this was a dream, no matter how surreal, it somehow seemed to be a reality. She could feel the ground beneath her feet and she knew it well. This was where she had killed the blue elk.

Once she was aware of her location, her attention was drawn to the ground to the place between where the two of them had lain. Horns, beautiful and shimmering with light lay in wait for her. The urge to touch them was strong and she found herself moving to take them before she could even think about them. The Inarta both felt and heard the chiming in her ears, the sound growing to an intensity that almost hurt. Goosebumps rose over her skin as the sound seemed to reverberate through her body yet she still approached the horns. The young woman needed to touch them.

As she reached for them, the elk itself seemed to appear in front of her, its cool breath billowing over her face. As the Avora touched the horns, the breath of the elk coalesced into cool hands that gripped and guided her own. As they touched her head, the chiming ceased and her body relaxed in relief. In a short time she started to glow until she became totally enveloped. Then the pain started, her back arching and overextending until it felt like it would break. The bones seemed to contort horribly, pulling and moving as she silently screamed, the sound choked off by her pain. When at last her body became a recognisable shape, it wasn't recognisable to her. Her mind was growing conflicted however, her body trying to go by instinct rather than any sort of thought. Her thought process was decaying as she tried to fight the animal that she was becoming, or rather had become. Turrin frightened her and she wanted to run from her, or the animal in her wanted to run. She wanted to go to him, to get him to help her but Azira couldn't speak, she wasn't able to anymore.

The elk began to move away from Turrin, drawn away from the human presence. The girl wanted to be alone, needed to get away from humanity and she began to walk away, the animal within needed to go but the young woman was screaming in the creature's head, struggling to gain some sort of control. The elk staggered, expressing the internal struggle as Azira tried to fight her new instincts.
