The Journal of Fallon Skylar

About:

It is a leather bound journal closed by a leather piece of cording, worn around the edges and showing signs of both much use and travel. The page edges have begun to curl, the thin stitching in the spine beginning to make it look dog eared. Consisting of approximately 50 pages and being about A5 in size, this thin journal is capable of fitting within the broad coat pockets she keeps.

It is within this note book that a variety of things have been written; from short verses, notes on the occurrences of the day to what Fallon believes to be truths and knowledge. Those who observe closely however may simply see not only a journal but an attempt to keep the fragmenting mind from completely disintegrating. Beyond that there is the occasional addition of letters folded between the pages - some dark while others being idle requests - or addition sheets to complement her notes. On the off chance that anyone wishes to leave a message in Fallon's Journal or drop a PM containing the contents of the letter for it to be added at the first convenient moment.

Spring, 1, 513 AV -Start of the day-

The letter came with speed and hast as a mail runner dropped the letter off to Fallon. A simple scroll which bared the message with the top part in common but the very bottom was in the same letters as her back:

"My dear, dear Fallon. It seems you have been hiding but at last I have found you. I know where you are so I am writing this letter to you. I am watching you and soon we shall have the joy of playing a game all over again.

Better start writing. Got told writing is good for practising your vocabulary and expanding your thought process. Not sure how true that is. Is it always cold in Avanthal? Seriously. I thought Syliras got cold, but this is stupid. Wonder why the mentor wanted to come here. Doesn't make any sense, still he seemed to like my attempt at poetry. Or maybe he's just mocking me. I can't tell any more.

Oh yeah, I found a woman as well. Looked a bit chilly. Hah... chilly. Either way, I think she's better now. If she doesn't wake up I'll give her a firm shove or something. Wait, never mind. Best go do something. Look busy!

66th Spring 509AV

At least it's slightly warmer now. We're heading to the spires to do some more research. Apparently my training is going to get harder when we get there. Great. Oh well, curse of being me I guess.

I hate this boat. It's cramped. I can't get out. I want to run. Why can't I run? Still I have my muse. Must keep it alive.

If you’re reading this, congratulations! You survived! You had me worried there for a moment but I knew that the scowl on your face was proof enough you were too stubborn to die. I do apologize but I thought it wise to depart the city without lingering too long. No doubt the Ebon…the Ebon….Ebongripes will be looking for parties involved in the brawl that broke out at the Silver Sliver. I might advise you make yourself scarce until things blow over.

In the mean time! I would like to be the first to tell you that you’re a reimancer. I have no idea what element you’re going to start out with. None. That, I believe, is up to you. Find what resonates most clearly with you, my dear. You should find it too horribly difficult to produce Res for the first time. If you’re a Projectionist like you say, making Djed gather at one point on your body and then pushing it outward shouldn’t be too hard.

I suggest you start by trying to make it manifest in your hands first.

On another note, I would like to give you a bit of advice. You may heed it or you may call me a coot.

Don’t get so lost in your own world. You’ll find that the deeper you fall into the depths of your own mind, the less you see of the world around you. Live as Kihala intended for you to do. Laugh because dammit, Rhaus gave us music and song for a reason. Love because Cheva will guide you and one day die without fear because Dira will be there to embrace you.

It's funny after all the pain and suffering you go through, that you can somehow drag yourself from the end and back. Wonder when it will stop. It hurts still. An idea.

Z. University – 4th Summer 511AV

Writing and Reading, two disciplines that need each other.
Knowledge is said to be found through reading.

Captain Wright sailed up to Avanthal. Lots of death – first to circum navigate the world. Arrange time to talk about Avanthal with Professor. See library for research and supply write up of things that are there? Circumnavigation can be found in library.

Also met the Myrians (messy end) and the Akvatari as they sailed round.

The crew is thought of as heroic souls, but… sometimes greatness is a forced upon title for things others do not achieve.

Assignment – begin reading circ nav, compare poets writing to what happened. Due 11th Summer.

The Dyres brothers firstly build the citadel on the coast of the Suvan Sea in a fertile valley (hence large population/resources).
Because of large population and building, a large amount of infrastructure rarely sees sunlight
Sylirian, Syliras, Sylira from Sylir (?). Perhaps in honour of?

A very badly damaged letter addressed to Fallon Skylar in Sunberth. Much of the top right corner is missing as it has been torn off leaving much of the first paragraph missing a quarter of its content. There are words here and there that are barely readable. Much of the centre of the letter is also missing and barely connected. It is the wax seal that keeps the two sides hanging together. The last paragraph of the letter has taken damage as well.

Life has been hard while you have been gone. I got a mission to board a pirate
ventured into the harbour area. Was an entirely unpleasant mission, but it got
done. We still don't know why it had been abandoned. But praise to Yahal that
it was, for the shyke I saw onboard. I would not want to meet the person cap-
able of such foul deeds and not lose it. Still makes me sick to think about at night.

A folded and sealed letter, with a brazen signet of a mountain in black wax, arrived early on the 85th of Fall 514 AV by courier. It was slipped under the door of the Quay House and the courier left long before anyone could catch him. Once opened it reads...

This is an official contract from the Council of Five, of Sahova. We intend to employ you, and your gang, on a periodic basis. Negotiations are acceptable but are expected in person only. The nature of the mission is such that it would put you in danger to write down. It will be detailed in full, in person. A ship named The Harlot’s Virtue leaves Sunberth on the 12th of Winter at noon, take this missive and seal and you will be granted free passage. This ship will arrive on Sahova as its next destination.

You are expected to report to the Council no later than the 19th of Winter if you intend to accept this contract. Any later and refusal will be assumed.

Beneath the missive a single glyph glared back at the reader. It had been written with an odd white ink, and the edges seemed to fray like a madman’s mind whenever someone attempted to auristically examine it.

25th Spring 515 AV

Maria Fraser approached the S.W.I. to investigate her potential unfaithful fiancé, Evan Poole.

Supposedly attends East Street a lot and visits a Touchy subject (Brothel - M) according to his friend.
Behaviour changes are also noted, supposedly now lacking confidence since start of spring.
Also "goes all shades of pale" when questioned about the brothel.

Request: Investigate Evan Poole and his activities, then construct a report based off the findings for Miss Fraser.

34th Spring 515 AV, Touchy Subject Results:

Investigated room he commonly "attends" (fourth room, upstairs). Given name of individual he commonly "requests" (a horizontal half-masked woman, Amelia).
