What was this cat doing now?
He couldn't help but wonder as the ocelot kitten shifted into a crouch befitting of a predator, something he'd might have noticed had he more experience with animals. Alas, his time in Syliras had left him bereft of such sustained interaction and so he was taken quite by surprise when Kalina seized the shirt in his hand, quite ignoring his offer to bestow affections upon it.
Before he could react quick enough to scoop up the kitten, it had already taken off with the shirt in tow, drawing an unrestrained cry of desperation from Adrian as he scrambled to his feet after the mischievous cat. That garment was key in determining what sort of audience he would receive when he returned to the estate, and he was loathe to find out what would happen to him if he returned without it. So after the cat he went, more than a bit frustrated with the ridiculous turn the day had taken as he managed his way through people who couldn't get out of his way fast enough in Adrian's opinion, while all the time keeping an eye out for the kitten.
Thankfully, the cat did not go very far, seemingly content to play with the shirt while keeping a wary eye out for him, which had it already having noticed him before Adrian realized it was there, he noted when he found the kitten watching him while still very much entertained with the garment. He didn't know whether to cringe or smile at Kalina's playful antics, more than a little apprehensive about any tears or punctures in the fabric.
Not wanting the kitten to run off again with the garment, Adrian decided to once more come into a crouch and try to coax the creature, holding out his right hand towards the cat, while keeping the pants part of the ensemble tucked tight against his chest with his other hand. It wouldn't do to have that garment stolen as well.
"Here, here now, why don't you come over here with the shirt... I'll find you some more treats.." Adrian cooed at the creature, fully not expecting it to understand him in the slightest. It was mostly for his own sake, to assuage his growing anxiety as he inched his way towards the feline, wary that it might make another go at running away from him.
