Heh, Finally! I cleared most of the requests in the 'Grading and Requests' thread. There's only a couple of my own and one of Cyq's threads left. So eh, everyone who has received grades, could you please edit your posts? It's kind of difficult to tell which threads have or have not been graded when that's not done.

It's to make things easier on moderators and graders alike.

Hello everyone! I'm kinda new here and I'm starting out in Lhavit so I'm around and available to thread. Though please forgive me, i'm still very new to Forum Posting so there will probably be plenty of mistakes on my part. I apologize in advance. If there is anything i need to change or do please let me know!

Fu Facts - Thanks to the bat

The bat is a chinese symbol of truly good things. I wasn't able to resist posting this.

A picture of a bat (fu 蝠) can be a visual pun for "good fortune" or happiness (fu 福) because both characters are pronounced fu.

Often the bat is shown flying upside down because the character (dao 倒) for "upside-down" and the character (dao 到) meaning "to have arrived" are both pronounced dao. Therefore, if a person were to say "the bat is flying upside down" a listener could just as easily hear this as "happiness has arrived" which, of course, has a very auspicious connotation.

Additionally, "a bat descending from the sky" (fuzi tianlai 蝠子天来) sounds exactly like "happiness descends from heaven" (fuzi tianlai 福子天来).

No problem you guys, no problem at all. I thought I'd go on a grading spree since I hadn't been doing a lot of grading recently. Lack of time and all that. Also, with Tricky having retired I thought it'd be best to obliterate the queue, in case a certain someone decided to get super-active again and add a lot of requests to the thread. *Stares at no-one in particular* I mean, such a huge amount of requests is quite discouraging (in the same way my syllabuses are when I have to study -which is now, actually )!

Attention Lhavit!

This is just a very quick annoucement for the city and it's players. I've looked over Lhavit and I have seen quite a few things that need to be updated and reworked so that it makes sense. This city has had a lot of mods, all with different ideas about how the city should work, and so far none of them have made any real good changes to many of the cities glaring inconsistencies. To that I say I will now be taking over Some of lhavits much need edits starting with it's magic systems and culture. So far I have seen magic used in Lhavit in ways it was never intended to be used. Magic is more or less purposeless in the system as of right now, but I will be working to change that. To that end some magics will be lift to higher levels of importance, where as others will be rid of entirely. World magics especially will be reviewed and worked over and assigned purposes within the city so that tey are not just "cool things" players can play with. Magic will be geared so that it surves a greater purpose in Lhavit itself.

I will be spending much of winter working on many of these revisions and I will bring you all updates as I have them. Till then happy writing!
