Torr was seething inside when the person didn't step up to appologize or at least show himself. He was about to yell again when he heard Markus rush to his side.

"Relax Torr,"Markus said."it was just an accident. Let it slide."
Torr took a deep breath and tried to calm down. Feeling Markus give him a pat on the shoulder.
"What do you say we return to shooting, if you're up for it."
Torr gave a short nod and bend down to pull out the arrow out of the ground, handing him to markus. "Here you take it, whoever shot this one really shouldn't be allowed to handle a bow." He shoved the bolt back into his quiver. before walking back towards his target.

[Training] The art of bows. (Torr)

Postby Markus Andres on November 4th, 2010, 2:18 pm

OOCSorry for the wait, been without internet for a good while now.

Markus was pleased to see that Torr didn't fire a bolt at the guy or charged at him. Markus might have done something like that in his younger days. To hell with the consequences. He took the arrows and returned to his spot.

"Of course, I wonder if I can get another bullseye." Markus said, trying to lighten Torr's mood a bit. Markus took another arrow from his quiver. Put it on the string and pulled said string back. In a slow and steady pull. Holding his breath as he first aimed, then slowly exhaling as he let go of the string and arrow. Feeling it leave the bow and fly down the range. Smacking directly into the middle! Of the ground.

"Ah damn it..."

"Of course, I wonder if I can get another bullseye."
Torr let out an amused snort.
"If you get one of those again I will buy you a beer,"He looked as Markus arrow hit the ground. "Don't think it will happen though." He reloaded his crossbow and shouldered it, slowly staiding it. Torr fired the bolt hiting only a few inches from the bullseye. Quickly trying to hide his suprise at the good shot, not very hard with his mask, and turned towards Markus. "Now that is how its done." He bragged a cocky grin hidden beneath his mask.

OOC: also Cheif had to change race from the Founders, there was a list of avaible dog races in Mizahar. He is now an Inganu Deepwoods Dog A lightly brown one.

Markus was a little less amused than Torr when his own arrow hit the ground. Especially when the crossbow-guy hit the center of his target with that ease. Markus felt a stab of anger rise in him as he took out another arrow and aimed down the range. Lifted the bow a little and then let the arrow go. Watching it fly in a good arc before slamming into the target. Of course far from the middle. But still, it made his mood a little better to hit the target.

"That was a pretty good shot..."

Markus admitted to Torr. Hitting the bullseye was always a great thing to do. Even when you were using a crossbow.

Torr looked towards Markus with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
"So Markus, you want to make this a little bit more interesting? Why don't we do a little match and the loser buy's the winner a few beers in a tavern."
He reloaded his crossbow and looked towards Markus.
"So you up for a little bit of chalange?"

Markus noticed the look in Torr's eyes and it looked a lot scarier because of that mask of his. Markus really shouldn't be going drinking so often, but he liked the challenge, and perhaps that was the motivation he needed to work more on his archery.

"It's a deal. Best after 5 shots?"

Markus asked, clarifying the rules. Of course, the point system was obvious because of the rings on the targets. The only thing they needed to agree on, was the amount of arrows/bolts they would fire. Or on a set amount of time before they stopped.

"Its a deal. Best after 5 shots?" Markus said.
Torr nodded. "Sure, Good for me. It wouldn't give you the unfair advantage of being able to fire faster." Torr grinned underneath his mask. "Well get to ready pay because I am not going to loose." He readied his crosbow patiently waiting on Markus to get in the fire position.

"Oh, so you're admitting my short bow is better?"

Markus taunted Torr as a joke. Before turning to the target again. He reached up behind and found an arrow and withdrew it, put it on the string and let his hand slide down the arrow. Feeling the arrow. Trying to give it some of his essence, or something, so it would go where he wanted it to.

He pulled the string back, felt the resistance, but it was nothing much for him to handle. He closed his left eye. Looked down the arrow and aimed at the target. Lifted his bow a little so it wouldn't hit the ground too early. Then he let the arrow go. He wasn't sure if Torr was looking or not, but he was looking intently at the arrow. Seeing it hammer into the target. Hitting close to the center line, but below the center itself. A good first shot.

"Ah, great." Markus said with a smile.

"Oh, so you're admitting my short bow is better?"
Torr shouldered his crossbow and carefully aimad. He pulled the trigger and let the bolt fly, It slammed into the third ring counted from the middle.
"Not really," Torr said as he began to reload his crossbow. "Sure you might hit 5 times in the same timespan that I shoot 2 bolts, But unlike with an arrow, if you are hit by a bolt no matter what kind of armor you are wairing you are screwed."
He shouldered his crossbow again ready to fire when he got a good shot.

[Training] The art of bows. (Torr)

"But only if you haven't been pierced by dozens of arrow first." Markus said with a smirk. They could continue arguing if power or numbers... Quality or quantity. He noticed where the bolt hit, and noted it down in his head. He was having a single point lead now. But that could easily change. Markus took out an arrow and slowly pulled the string back. Recreating the exact same thing as before. Pulling the string back to the same reach and aimed higher. Slowly exhaled as he let the arrow fly.

It slammed into the target again. This time in the ring farthest from the center. It had almost flown over the target.Perhaps he should aim a little lower. It was annoying after this many shots, that he still hadn't determined the right amount of power and height to put into the arrow. At this rate he would turn 25 before becoming a good enough archer to join the ranks of the knights.

Markus didn't bother to look to Torr's target. Instead he just withdrew another arrow from the quiver, put it on the string and took a deep breath of air before pulling the string as far back as he could. Feeling the string fight him all the way. Feeling the strain on his muscles. It felt good. It soothed his annoyance, for now. Then he let the arrow go. It slammed into the target with a good deal of punch. Hitting the line between the third and second ring.
