My Words | Your Words | My Thoughts
Seemed weird, that Ferrin would call himself a fool and then immediately promise to have more backbone. Funny in a backwards way. For comfort he tapped the human on the leg. "Don't worry about it." The soundest advice he could think of; the one thing that didn't sound like some terrible forebearing. Hopefully, one day, Ferrin would pull himself out of this.. this bizarre maelstrom he seemed encased in constantly through their conversation, jumping back and forth between punishing himself and hanging off the words of someone he'd barely knew for ten chimes. He'll make a good squire. The more he talked, the more true it seemed, for all the wrong reasons. Easily shaped. Little confidence. His first impressions were nothing more than those, of course, but they still painted a rather horrifying picture when paired with someone like Iros.
How Arch wished he could take on his own squires.
A weird thought that he'd never even put into consideration but looking at the people he'd met; Ferrin, Alex.. they all seemed like such innocent yet intelligent souls. He'd reached a point with his patron that seemed stable enough; if anything he was just waiting for the day to come where he'd ascend, but given the sheer volume of people, he was just one on a waiting list. Now he was nearly on the surface, looking back at those still on the ocean floor. Maybe it's something to think about, his nexus threw back up. "Mm." Perhaps it was. If he took his own squires, at least he'd save some from the tyranny of some of the other more hard-headed knights. Not that he despised all knights; but he disagreed with some of their methods, to say the least.
"Yes, I know." Planning was good. "Just.. you know. Don't rush into things." A last pat on Ferrin's knee and then the Pycon hopped down off the bench. "Look through a window, before you open the door and step inside. I'd better be going, but I hopefully see you in the future - and not because I have to break up a bar brawl or something. Grow a shell but don't use it to club people over the head, y'hear?" he laughed. Better get back to the dorms, for now. He'd spent a lot longer than he'd wanted to in the gardens.. and now he had a lot to think on. He left Ferrin with a smile and a polite wave.
oocGuess we should call it the end of our story there?
