A Isur and a Half

Irathia thought for a moment, which weapon would fit her best, if any at all... What if she just got a new hammer? That would be cool, to get a newer hammer. Maybe she could make it her own in her own way... But then again it would be better to expand her horizons and choose a different weapon, it would make her stronger, less predictable.

She shifted slightly, as she thought. "What would you think I should do? I mean I am best with a hammer." Irathia asked, she was genuinely wanted to know this Isur's opinion, sense she doesn't know much on most of the weapons there except the hammers and maces. The maces seemed pretty straight forward, it was like a hammer... Just... Not.

A Isur and a Half

Postby Terag on February 20th, 2016, 4:19 pm

Terag thought for a long time before shrugging, "If you want that answer I would have to know a lot more about you. How do you fight, for instance? Do you rush in and hit them or bide your time? Do you prefer to put everything in one swing and be done with the fight or take your time? Do you use one hands or two hands to fight?" Terag smiled a bit, and shrugged.

"There are many things one needs to consider when picking a weapon.A weapon is tool, it needs to be chosen just as carefully. Once you answer some of those questions and if you figure yourself out you will know exactly what to use. But I am definitely willing to try to help if you can tell me a bit more, yeah?" Terag leaned against the counter as he awaited her answers to his questions.

A Isur and a Half

Postby Irathia on February 20th, 2016, 4:44 pm

Irathia thought for a moment. "I fight with my hammer in one hand, and I usually try to strike hard but I try to think before I go after a attack." Irathia said, while she was thinking she placed her non-tanned arm on her chin and she looked down... She slightly bit her lip as well as she thought, she shrugged slightly after she was sure what she knew what she was saying.

"I rather not like bladed weapons, like swords" She also added, as she looked back at you... It was true, for some reason she hated swords. "Though I am fine with a spear." She said, smiling, she shrugged once more as she spoke, not sure what to say next. She shuffled slightly, trying not to seem awkward with the silence that was sure to follow her when she didn't know what to say... Or when she said to much...

Irathia was thinking, a mace would be nice, but she still favored hammers amongst all other weapons she has tried... It felt more natural, with years of use she could truly say that hammers were her favorite weapon and the weapon she would choose amongst all else. Irathia bit her lip again as she couldn't say anything new to bring up with the Isur.

A Isur and a Half

Postby Terag on February 22nd, 2016, 1:53 am

Terag thought for a moment before speaking. "I think based on that then your best option is to either get a warhammer, something that you can use in one hand, or perhaps a gauntlet for your other hand. I mean, unless you have a hand like I do," Terag motioned to his black hand that now sat on top of the counter "then you' will likely need some sort of protection to stop your bones from being hurt."

Rather than to ask to see the girl's other arm, because as far as he was able to tell she wasn't an Isur so it was unlikely the case, Terag knelt down and rummaged behind the counter. A moment later he stood again, setting a metal gauntlet onto the counter. It would be a bit too big for the girl, but it would at least get the idea across. "If you want to go this route I would have to make a new one for your size. But if you want the hammer then we might be able to find one that should already fit you, unless you want me to make a new one instead."

A Isur and a Half

Postby Irathia on February 22nd, 2016, 3:52 am

Irathia stared at the gauntlet... She didn't even consider a gauntlet... "So a gauntlet is just for my hand's protection, right?" Irathia said, studying it as she began to slip it over her hand... It was quite large for her... Her hand was no where close to filling the metal, she grinned at it. "It totally fits me." She said, waving the large thing like it was her own hand.

Irathia thought for a moment. "How much for the gauntlet?" Irathia asked, making a decision. "I need some form of protection for my hands." Irathia said, she wiggled off her the gauntlet, trying to keep her tinted hand away from the eye's of the Isur. Irathia smiled, and placed the thing on the counter when she finished taking it off.

"Yeah, the gauntlet is just for protection. It does help you hit a bit harder if the padding is made correctly but if you want to use your fist as a weapon then I recommend keeping it protected." He chuckled a bit at her joke about the gauntlet fitter her before continuing on.

"For the gauntlet? It depends on what you want from it. A normal pair of gauntlets will cost you only two golden mizas. Then it is anywhere from five to ten depending on the type of gauntlets." He thought for a long moment, counting the types of gauntlets on his fingers before he listed them off. "There is edged, spiked, studded, and teethed. Well, there is also a sword gauntlet but that one is forty-five mizas. It is, more or less, a sword attached to the back of your hand. I do not think that will work for you. So in order, an edged gauntlet has sharp points along the back of the hand so you can backhand someone and slash them. A spike gauntlet has spikes attached to the knuckle to make your strike more deadly. A studded gauntlet does the same, but rather than spikes there are studs for a blunt impact. Finally, the teethed gauntlet is made to have strange angles so that you can catch swords easier with them. Any of those sound the most to your liking?"

A Isur and a Half

The fact that there were so many gauntlet types were... Unexpected... The sword gauntlet was just straight up disgusting, the thought of it sounded terrible. The teeth gauntlets sounded... Fun. Something to block the swords and all. "The studded and teethed gauntlets sound fun, how much does a studded one cost? What about the teethed?" Irathia said.

She shifted slightly. "Would you suggest I get two as well? Double protection for my hands after all." Irathia said, she smiled slightly, she was warming up to the Isur. She was pretty confident that if he figured out that she was half Isur he wouldn't freak out... Well not as much to the point where he would kill her.

Terag had to think for a moment before responding to the woman, "For the studdent gauntlets it is five golden mizas. For the teethed, ten. You do not need to worry about getting two, they come in sets. The only gauntlet that does not come with a twin usually is the bladed gauntlet. That one is because he have to make the blade as well, costs too much as a pair."

Terag coughed before continuing, "However if it matters, I would recommend you wear them both on the field. At least, until you know you can beat almsot everyone. Even then, it is usually better to keep covered, you never know if you might be fighting against a master of fighting, no?" Terag smiled a bit before reaching under the counter again.

From under the counter he pulled out a pad of paper and a pencil, to record the measurements he was to take. He also pulled out a tape measure, so that he could get all of her measurements for the armor. He motioned for her to extend both hands out so he could begin to measure, that was assuming she wanted to get the gauntlets.

A Isur and a Half

Irathia smile quickly faded, she only stuck out one hand. "Can't you just measure one hand and then just flip it around for my other?" She asked, clearly nervous again. She didn't want to reveal her tinted arm out of fear of being punished by the Isur in front of her. Her eyes shot from the Isur to the floor, she could feel her self placing her tinted arm behind her back.

"No offense, I am just not comfortable showing both hands." Irathia said, she was actually not comfortable with showing her blue arm to some one she was told she should fear. Even though she is telling herself that everything would be okay the constant beating of the ideal into her head... She couldn't shake it.

A Isur and a Half

Terag frowned, but at first seemed to comply. He would take the measure and measure out her hand. Her fingers, her palm and the back of her hand, the size of her wrist, and more. All this information was recorded down on the pad with the pencil. To anyone who didn't speak or understand Isurian the markings and runes would seem to be gibberish. However, it was all the information he needed just in his own tongue.

After he was done her sighed a bit and set the tool on the counter, "In theory, yes I can do this with this information. It might fit a bit strange. For many people the two sides of your body are not even. It is a truth you have to learn when you want to do personalized armor and not just generic pieces. If it is that big of an issue then I can do it, though I would prefer taking the information of your other hand. If it helps any I will not judge or make faces at your other hand? In my line of work you see a lot of war wounds, mangled hands, all the way up to hands that seem they have never held a weapon. I assure you whatever you show me it will not be my first time. But, if you feel that strongly then you are free to come back tomorrow and your gauntlets will be finished by then."
