"Hi Corum," Leur said to the Nuit. Then, looking at both Corum and the Kelvic, said: "This is Laoi, one of my closest friends," he acknowledged with a smile.

Leur then realized that he didn't know the name of the Kelvic girl.
"Excuse me, but I was just wondering your name? Mine is Leur, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Corum nodded at the two, his head bowed as to hide his face, though he was sure by the unease of the newest person that she knew of his nature. He took a breath and smiled. “ Greetings, Laoi. It is a pleasure to meet you. What brings you to this town?” She seemed the most human of all at the table, besides corum himself, he thought. To the other tavern patrons, he looked quite human. a bit pale, but he was often seen at the university, so they could assume he did not often see the light of day. Even though he’d shown his face, a feral female and a man who resembled a fish had shown themselves, drawing any attention he might get away. He looked at the new girl. She was nervous, but understandably so. Corum had heard his name as the two where talking, and was sure she knew that he was one of the fallen. It was interesting to him that he did not tell her, yet she knew, and that he’d told the other girl, yet she had no idea. It was slightly amusing.

Leur introduced her as one of his “closest friends”. This description startled her. She had considered herself more or less a loner now that she was away from her sisters on the White Isle. He had been an accepting and genuinely caring person during their time traveling together, and comments like this were commonplace in his speech. She appreciated that.

She dipped her head, “Likewise, Corum.” A Konti never left their home unless she has special reason to do so. Even so, she needn’t explain fully everything yet. “I’m a traveling healer” was all she told him. It felt awkwardly defensive, so she added, “I had no real reason for coming to Zeltiva. I just felt visiting the port town would be a comfortable shift from traveling.” She chuckled, “We certainly are an eyesore, though. All the nonhumans all at a single table.”

Magenta raised her long furry neck, slowly inching her nimble legs over the ground. She walked slowly, making an effort to pick up every smell, every sound and every sight in the area. She ran her whiskers long the ground, searching for just a little blade of grass, or leaf to eat. Greetings, Laoi. It is a pleasure to meet you. What brings you to this town? Magenta's head shot up, long rounded ears flicked in every direction. She snorted and bounded off into the brush. Her head peeked up, trying to get sight of the noise she just heard.

As the land became silent again, she slowly crept from her hidding. She morphed back to her human form. She stood from the cold ground and called for her horse. The stead came from the push, she climbed aboard the horse and checked her backpack for something to eat. She found some of her food deep in the back of her pack.

She took the reins and steered the horse onward. She pulled her dark hood over her face, imparing her sight. She continued to drive her horse forward. She smelt something, something odd. She looked up, infront of her were three creatures. She swung off her horse's back and quietly morphed back to her deer form. She stood still keeping her large brown eyes trained on the three figures before her, daring not to make a sound.

Corum would then laugh. It was easy to see how nervous the human patrons where. “ Yes, though i was human once. When i was alive, i used to come to this very bar. More likely then not, these men are all children, or the children of the children, of those i once called friends so long ago. I myself am here to study the arts of magic. I will likely be here for some time, so if ever you want to find me, i’ll likely be here or in the University. For now, though, would you care to partake of any drink?” already i was paying for the few things my companions bought, so no need to cost a new friend money, Corum thought.

OOC: hey, magneta, we are in a bar, not outside...

Laoi felt silly for any anxious she had felt. Corum was as tame as any tired old man.

“Oh—Well, thank you. I’d just have some water,” she accepted. She hadn’t had the chance yet to refill her water canton today. The Nuit’s courtesy surprised her. She tried to grasp what his life might have been like before, though could only feel his measured civility. He had come to study magic, he said. An undead user of magic? She considered.

Bars were hardly familiar to the Konti woman, so she wondered whether she should be the one to flag down the serving girl. No, that would better for the person paying to do, she decided and nodded slightly to Corum.

Corum smiled from under his hood, raising his hand and motioning to the empty drinks, calling for more of the same. The girl who served them just went ahead and set down the pitcher for them, and Corum calmly set his own glass before his new companion. Its not like he would use it, anyway.

“ Yes... it is good to be home, after fifty years gone. So many memories... But that is the past. For now i will wait on the University to review my request, i have decided to first study the arts of projection... You have some magic about you as well, dont you, Laoi?” His master had been a mighty wizard, and from him and those he delt with, Corum had learned to see those with magic, and those without. Though he had little in the ways of skill, when his master gave him no orders and he was not offering prayer to Ivak, Corum would read. He had become quite scholarly in these past decades. His knowlage was deep, but none of it would help him in a fight, and not much was even useful. Thus he had come here, for he had no where else to go.

Corum had obviously never met a White Woman before.

“I do,” she said. “Avalis gifts each of her children with a Gnosis mark. Though commonly viewed as a race of seers, not all Konti can peer into the future. I can see into individuals and tell basic things about them, such as name, race, and mood. Little past that is clear to me, and even that is fogged at times.

“I said I was a healer before. I can also tend to minor wounds, be them physical or mental. I’m very much so still a novice in my craft. Beyond that, no. Other magics do not concern me.”

She took took a sip from the glass set before her while listening to his response. The cool water was refreshing after spending the entire morning traveling and chilled the inside of her throat. She was becoming more accustomed to the bar, hardly noticing the two retired men singing an improvised duet grievously off-key at the table adjacent to them.

OOC: I'm heading off to bed, and Leur has as well. Night, Corum and hope to catch you tomorrow! :)

Corum nodded his hooded head. Yet another who was blessed by the gods. He thought of his dear friend Kendoll, a fellow outcast and a fellow worshiper of the god Ivak. While it was true he had never spoken with the White Ladies, he was familiar enough. His master had delt with them, though he stood far away, in the camp. He spent most of his time there reading and nurturing plants near his camp. He liked the living less back then. He wondered what this one saw in him...

“ Indeed. I one day hope to be so blessed as to be marked by my god, but i would rather not show myself to the higher beings just yet... Dira has quite the hate for my kind, you see. If i am noticed by one, then the others would see me as well. I pray that lord Ivak bless me one day, just not one day soon...”

OOC: i too must rest, and i wont be on till late again tomorrow im afraid. untill then, good bye.

Postby Iris Dove on November 27th, 2010, 2:53 pm

Iris simply listened in on the conversation the others were having as she munched on her apple, ignoring any questions that were directed at her, mainly, what was her name?

Iris didn't put the apple down until it was a pitiful core, and the others had discussed their names and purposes in the town. Iris proceeded to lick the tips of her fingers to remove any apple juice that remained there before trying to figure out how to join the conversation.

Unfortunately, in her short life, she hadn't come across many races or forms of magic, so she didn't really understand what the others were talking about. She also didn't know of the university they kept speaking of, for she simply stumbled upon the city in her travels, not knowing what it was exactly.

Iris didn't know about anything about the gods or goddesses they spoke of. She was starting to feel a little stupid, so instead she nodded her head slightly as though she understood what everyone was talking about and said, "I'm Iris," before pausing and saying, "I suppose you could say I'm a bit of a wanderer and simply stumbled upon this city."
