The man wasn’t about to trust the word of two monsters or believe their laughable story about being squires. At the same time the Zith did bring up some good points, as unbelievable as that was. If the cowardly Zith wanted to sell out his partner in crime Caleb could get take out two in one go. Though he wasn’t a fool, He had thought of the fact that these two could easily be planning an ambush. Lead him into the woods and right into a group of ravenous Zith and their pycon slaves. His eyes narrowed as he agonized over how to proceed. His eyes shifted from the furry back of the Zith to the barely visible outline of a pycon riding some kind of tiny creature.
“Fine!” Caleb huffed begrudgingly “I’ll play your silly little game but the moment I get double crossed I’ll slash you with my sword so much…there won’t be enough left of you to make a fur collar for your little pycon slave.” The man chuckled with a touch of sadistic pleasure.
“I’m not a slave?!” Nivel retorted with disgust before she quickly realized the errors of her ways “I mean yes, we will help you find the culprit and escort them to the Tank were they belong.”
“First lets set some rules.” Caleb's head darted towards Nivel “One, You are going to stay as far away from me as possible, and two I’m going to kill what ever killed my brother and nether of you is going to stop me.” The way the man spoke made it positively clear he wasn’t willing to argue on the subject.
Nivel took a deep breath to hold in what she wanted to say, She wasn’t foolish enough to argue with a man who held her friends life in his hands.
“ I agree to your terms, I’ll keep my distance..and not get in your way.” Nivel replied reluctantly.
“Good. Lead the way…Squire” The man smirked as he shoved Treachery with his free hand. They headed into the forest with Nivel trailing behind, She tried desperately to think of a plan to get out of this situation but none seemed to come to mind. Some kind of distraction would be a godsend but she didn’t want to do anything that might endanger her friend. She stopped a loose pebble and quickly snagged it before Caleb could suspect anything and hurled it as far as she could. If it didn’t give Treachery the time she needed to evade the mans blade at least it would keep the man occupied.
A distance away in the trees, a perched creature with fresh blood still dripping her mouth lie in wait. She was well aware she was being tracked but wanted to toy with her hunters a bit more before she turned the tables.
