Frozen wasteland, vastly spread about, swirling icy cold winds. At least, they seemed and felt icy to the touch. Infilia was barbed in her usual attire, winter clothing, bundled up, her trench coat heavy, and her father's angle knife tucked, hidden within her trench coat. She was walking slowly, her hood up, and face protected, somewhat from the winds, and snow whistling at her. The Vantha held her flute tightly, she looked back and realized that there were two dark figures pursuing her. Figures, that seemed like shadows, and Infilia had to find a way out of this vast frozen land.

____________________________

She made it to the castle made from frozen solid ice and cubicles. The Vantha turned her head, and realized the two shadows had vanished into thin air. Infilia turned her head back, and noticed that the castle had abruptly disappeared.

"What am I to do?" Infilia asked herself, in Vani. She was uncertain at this point, and she needed to find a place to warm up, and at least to be away from the shadows that seem to scare her. Infilia continued to look around, and through the midst of the wind and fog, and snow, she spotted something a light. Was it Priskil? Or was it another building, but Infilia hoped that it was one or the other, and not something terrible. She clutched onto her flute, and followed the light. Being careful, as she made her way, to whatever she was heading.

OOCIf people decide to join, the light would be a decent meeting spot. Remember, from afar, it's just a small orb of light and nothing more. Though, that light is the Red Diamond Tavern, it's located within the Avanthal Linkmap.

Infilia- Having a Hard Time.

Snow was falling all around her. Snowflakes flickered from the endless nothing above, falling lightly on her face and crusting her hair and eyelashes with sparkling jewels or white. She felt it across her back, a soft pillow which she lay on, until the cold came through, and she felt it, sending sharp pangs down her spine. She rose quickly, at once feeling the wind as it ripped through the sky, digging into her and the girl pulled her arms around herself, wishing the clothing she wore - long, loose and light Eypharian clothing - was more suited to this weather.

As she scanned the horizon, not making anything out but whiteness, she realised where she was. She had never seen this place but it was on her mind so much. All she knew was the Alvadas version and that was nothing. As she stumbled blindly forward, fighting the biting snow and ice, her eyes grew wide with wonder at the land the Vantha came from.

It was so still and empty, and slowly, Nephti could feel herself getting colder and colder, finding movement harder as her legs became frozen. Eager to find something in this barren place to use as shelter, or clothing, or warmth, she pushed forward, wondering why the Vantha was so foolish to live in such a place.

Then again, she came from the desert, and that could be just as barren and lifeless and dangerous.

She spotted a light, shining out through the white. It was bright and big and beckoning and the girl laughed, finding the strength to fight the cold and move faster, even run through the snow. It slipped through the open sandals on her feet and they turned blue but she continued running, laughing, towards the light.

The mark on her hand began to glow and the orb of light she saw grew brighter. Whatever it was, she knew it had to be good. It had to be safe. It had to be warm, because this cold was freezing.

Outside, before Infilia ever stepped through that door within the Red Diamond Tavern, she heard voices and excitement. Though, it was muffled, Infilia felt at home, she knew where she was, and she knew that this was a stronghold for her. She just needs to step inside. she smiled as she came, opening the door, she was surprised. Nothing. It was odd, and peculiar, her eyes shifted as she stepped through. Well, it wasn't nothing completely, there were people who were inside, but they looked like wax figures, frozen in place. Infilia looked around, she noticed a dark cloaked figure from behind the bar and swiftly made it's way out through the wall, dealing no damage to it whatsoever, it just phased. Then, the people began to move around, and everything else resumed around her.

She wondered what was going on, and she kept telling herself. "Just a dream." The Vantha hanged her trench coat upon the usual hook whenever she comes into this Tavern. The fireplace was running, and it was warm, that shadow was alarming, but she still knew that she was safe, and away from harm. She waited for the last performance to finish, and it was so soothing, a viola and a violinist playing a sweet lullaby of some sort. The audience was clapping; well the ones who were paying attention. Infilia came in just in time.

The Vantha organized her things, and she kept her change in her pocket. She stood on the dias and begin to play a soft tune, she mixed the pitches during the tune, and she was about to finish her song, though, she added a twist to her music and played a small fast paced solo that lasted a few seconds. She can't top over half a chime.. Infilia paused, to gather her breath, she began to play once more.

The light became an inn before her very eyes and the girl burst forward even more, pushing through the door and hoping for a warm fire inside - or at least shelter from the snow. Her sandals slapped against the flooring and she shook off piles of snow, forming a carpet on the door over the water that had melted from the last visitor.

Ignoring the rest of the tavern, she hopped towards the fire, burning ferociously, and sat firmly in front of it, all hands outstretched towards it as if she wanted to pull it into a tight embrace. The flames danced towards her, almost brushing her arms, but brought only warm, welcoming heat to her. Her frozen limbs gained feeling and movement, and she swivelled round to warm her back, taking the tavern in.

A Vantha moved onto the dias and began to play, Nephti's eyes flickering across the flute and the eyes that changed colours with emotion. Her music was beautiful and Nephti found herself almost in a trance as she watched, or rather listened, to the Vantha perform.

Once the woman had finished, the girl applauded wildly, leaping up to shower her with compliments. The words flowed out in Arumenic and she didn't care, enjoying the moment. She moved towards her, wishing she had some money to give to the woman and show her wonder at the music even more.

"Well done, well done!" she smiled, speaking Common once again as her mind filtered through the words and worked hard to get them out well, "You play beautifully." Then, she peered closer, staring straight at her eyes in fascination, "Do they... do they change too? It must be so beautiful to see." With everything going on that season, seeing a Vantha's eyes must be so hard. This would be amazing. She only hoped she wasn't being rude, or nosy. Her mind was still a bit frozen from the snow, and she wasn't really thinking.

Finishing; the Vantha bowed her head lightly and blushed some. She played well, but had a few mix ups with the notes in between the tune and it still was a good show to the audience. One in particular, stood out to Infilia. It wasn't only because of her wild applause, it was because of her.... horns? Infilia had never seen such a being with horns wrapped around their heads. It was certainly something. Though, it was rude to stare, and Infilia walked off the dias and sat at the bar. A glass of wine in her hand, and that same horned person came and take a seat beside her on another stool.

"Well done, well done!" Her words were spoke in common, and Infilia interpreted it quite nicely, but she didn't know she would have a fan.

"Thank. You." Infilia spoke in a broken common, it was slowly coming back to her. As she recalled what she knows.
"You play beautifully." Infilia smiled, hand resting over the flute case. She nodded slowly and cleanly as if bowing to the very Queen Morwen herself. Something unexpected had occured, and the horned woman peered closely asking about her eyes. "Do they... do they change too? It must be so beautiful to see."

"They do.." Infilia assumed that she was mentioning her eyes. Her eyes shifted to a purple hue, she was confused. And swirls of silvery hues mixed in as well, as she felt at home. "No mean no rude. What are... you?" Infilia pointed to the horns, she had never seen a creature like it, it was interesting. "Name is... Infilia."

The eyes flickered then settled on a purple, flecks of silver shining in the light of the fire. Nephti wondered what that meant, her own a steady brown. So boring, compared to the Vantha with their shifting eyes. Although it would be confusing too, she decided. They were meant to mean something, but she doubted it was the same for each one. That would be too easy.

The woman then asked what Nephti was, and the girl smiled, used to the question. Although, most of the time, the asker pointed at her arms, not her hair. Instinctively, she moved her hand up to pull her hair back, and met something hard. She tried to move another to feel the back of her head, then stopped, the feeling gone. Glancing down, she began to panic. Her arms, where were her arms? With a horrified expression, she shot up, rubbing her sides where the missing arms would be in case they had gone invisible or something.

Running around madly, the girl moved to the puddle of water at the doorway, which was now a small pond that the customers had to wade through. One of the resident ducks quacked at her as she stared at her reflection, not recognising who she saw. Gone were the mighty arms, and instead a paler, although still gilded girl stood in the reflection. On her head curled two large horns, which she gripped, unable to make sense of it. She was Eypharian, always Eypharian.

Turning back to the woman, she wondered whether the Vantha had anything to do with it. "I had six arms! I am Eypharian! Not... this!" she yelled across the tavern, more terrified than anything else. It took her a few breaths to calm down, hoping to make sense of it all. She'd get her arms back, she had to. After all, Sayana spent some time as a Zith with fur and wings, but eventually returned to her normal form. No one changed race forever - not that she knew this was another race. It could just be a strange, imagined form.

Infilia quickly observed the Elethafel as she darted across the tavern and looked at her reflection, via a pond. Infilia cocked her head, and arched her brow, she was merely confused. The Snowsong wondered if she originally ever had something else. Otherwise, Infilia was uncertain what happened. The woman hurried back, in a flare of panic, and worry.

"I had six arms! I am Eypharian! Not... this!" Infilia assumed correctly, and she took a sip of her wine thinking. She wondered how her arms were gone, but what's visible is a pair of horns.

"I'm sorry." Infilia said worried, her eyes swirling with a purple hue. The Vantha wasn't sure what was going on, but perhaps they can figure it out? Well... she has two arms.
"Maybe they've been switched with someone else?"

OOCNephti you can feel free to change the scenery if you please. Unless the tavern setting works better for you? Go on a hunt for Nephti's arms! XD

The purple eyes flickered and the woman expressed her sympathy for the girl who lost her arms. The Eypharian, or rather what used to be an Eypharian, turned back to struggling to cope, grasping the horns firmly and almost trying to pull them off. Even if she tried, however, the whole thing wouldn't work. They were part of her now as her arms were, but completely useless. With every move she made, she had to check that she had moved the arms she had left - it took every bone in her body to slow herself down, to condense one action into several so she could cope with only two arms.

How did people cope? It felt so alien - too alien.

"Who?" the girl asked, looking wide eyed at the woman and hoping she wasn't just thinking theoretically. The vantha hadn't swapped races with someone else, but maybe she had seen another Eypharian walking around who didn't know how to use all six arms. Maybe she knew someone who had swapped race, somehow.

Then again, from her "maybe", that didn't sound too likely. As much as Nephti didn't want to admit it, everything sounded like the woman was trying to come up with solutions without knowing them. Perhaps she was right. That was what the girl decided to hold onto, looking around the tavern quickly for anyone who was six-armed, whether they meant to be or not.

Each and every person in the tavern sat or stood with two arms at their side, either hanging loose or being used. None had any extra, nor were much different than any other human in any other way. None had six arms, none had horns, and none were panicking because their race had changed.

"I will look out, will you come?" she asked the Vantha, glancing in her direction before wading through the pond that had formed at the door. Her robes began to cling at her skin, and her feet were soaked through the sandals, but she didn't really notice. Her arms were the only thing she really cared about in that moment.

Just before she reached the door, her mind thought of the vortex on her hand and her heart skipped as she considered that it might have disappeared with her arms too. She had no idea which ones she had left. With a worried expression, her remaining hands shot up, eyes searching them quickly. With a smile, she spotted the mark and gave a sigh of relief. At least that was still there. If anything had to go, she'd rather it be her arms than her gnosis.

Still relieved, she glanced back to see if the Vantha was following her and pushed the door open, ready for the cold blast of air that whistled through the open door. A shower of snow fell onto her, the girl struggling to shield herself with only one pair of arms. She pushed forward, looking through the onslaught of snow and realising something was different. It wasn't the plains of ice and snow of before. Rocks had appeared, sticking sharply out of the ground like large teeth and she stumbled around them, not sure where she was going.

Then the ground seemed to disappear beneath her feet and she slid down the rock face, snow and gravel kicked up as she fell. With a sharp scream, she moved to reach out with all arms and found only two flailing around pointlessly, unable to coordinate herself. Landing roughly where the ground became flat again, she realised they were on a mountain.

Not another one. The girl glanced up, looking for the Vantha. "Can you reach?" she asked, wondering if they would be able to reach each other or if it was just that slight amount too much.
