What You See

Jaquise, or Jaq to anyone but his closest friends, is lean and pale. It might be an affect of using to much Djed, or simply spending to much time studying indoors. Either way his pallor could be considered sickly in appearance. At a young age Jaq lost an eye while practicing reimnancy. It was replaced with a glass eye. Recently he purchased a new one that matches his right eye, which due to overgiving was changed to a chunk of ice. It gives the impression that both eyes are fake, but if one looked closely they may notice some frost forming on Jaq's right brow. Jaquise also sports a beard and mustache that, combined with his hawkish features, his ice white eyes, pale skin, and very long black hair add up to a rather intimidating sight.

Jaquise wears an outfit of mostly black, with only one article of white. This includes a black cloth jacket often left open instead of buttoned with a collar that reaches half way up his neck, a white linen shirt that is usually tucked in, a belt around his waist over the shirt, a pair of rough cloth pants, and a special pair of boots. Hooked up to the belt is Jaq's katana. This hangs next to him when he's walking, and can be shifted to a more comfortable position for seating. On his hands Jaq has a pair of black, studded leather gloves that are quite obviously meant for fighting and which have seem to have suffered some burns on the inside. Most of the time you can see him wearing a black, wide rimmed hat.

Armor wise Jaq prefers to be discreet. He wears bracers that protect most of his forearm, and underneath his shirt is a slender chain mail shirt. The chain mail was made for discretion and makes no noise when Jaq moves. When he knows hes going into dangerous territory Jaq will put on a set of spiked gauntlets and a set of greaves. All of it is simple but sturdy workings.

What You Get

Born and raised with the idea's of chivalry, honor, and integrity. Jaq holds to these ideals in all he does, even if its harder to see sometimes then others. As much as he is rugged and crude, so to is he dedicated. He was raised to follow Tyveth, and though he no longer worships the god he lives by a code of honor. A rather obscure honor, but honor nonetheless. Jaq does not take jobs that involves wet work. He has no compunctions about killing in self defense, but that is where he draws the line. Despite the fact that Jaq seems very much a womanizer, he is very courteous with the women he speaks to.

Jaquise is neither as charming or as noble as his name makes him sound. He can be. He had an upbringing that instilled such things into him. He chooses not to though and only makes exceptions for friends and pretty ladies. When Jaquise became a mercenary he left all of that behind him though. He even gave up the name Jaquise Emittere for the simpler Jaq. The few people who know his full name are the most trusted of his friends. As it is there is only two such people. He's a very private person who finds a great deal of what makes up the normal populace aggravating and annoying. He detests ignorance almost as much as arrogance. And those ignorant people so arrogant that they think they know it all makes him furious. This anger likely sprung from the masses that cheered at his father's execution. They see a magician who broke the law and automatically assume he's evil. This very same ignorance makes Jaq's life rather difficult, and for that reason most only know him as a competent swordsman.

There are certain kinds of people Jaq can grow to like. Dedicated people who work with their hands usually earn Jaq's respect. Intelligence is something Jaq values, though he has a low opinion of his own. Kindness is a welcome sight, but getting all warm and gushy might make uncomfortable. Jaq believes that these qualities are rare things that should be treasured. He thinks the majority of people hold neither.

Even with his rather crude mannerisms, hard views, and cynicism Jaq is not a bad person, and he is not near as depressing as he sounds. One of the best ways to describe him is a fun drunk. When hes not working Jaq usually has a smile on his face, and its not always because hes been dipping into the bottle. Hes deeper then he appears to. His chosen profession, mercenary, was not picked because it gave him the chance to kill, or to fight. He chose to be a mercenary for the freedom it allows. In fact, if Jaq had the option of doing so, he'd prefer to set up shop as an animator. The ability to create life, and to invent new ways of doing so, is just fascinating to Jaq. As it is he has neither the money nor the skill. So he works as a mercenary, try's to enjoy life despite all the darkness he sees.

What Jaq Knows

Skills

Skills Description Point Breakdown Threads
Reimancy: [35/100] Jaq was taught from a young age to use reimnancy, but every true professional knows that experience is important for one to get better. Jaq has a long way to go. Jaq can manipulate wind and water. [Starting package - 22, Awarded - 13] ****
Katana: [32/100] Jaq chose to learn how to use a katana from his father, and most recently has been using what skill he has in order to earn some small cash as a mercenary. [Starting Package - 18, Awarded - 14] ****
Animation: [28/100] Jaq was taught Animation at the age of 13. Because it was world magic and there was little chance of him overgiving Jaq would practice this skill for days at a time. When his father was executed Jaq stopped finding any pleasure in animating golems. [Starting Package - 15, Awarded - 13] ****
Familiary: [13/100] Jaq had recently made a contract with a Zagarek, an Irylid. They have a long way to go in their partnership. [Awarded - 13] *****
Interrogation: [4/100] Jaq sometimes has to learn things from people that aren't very cooperative. At best, he can beat someone up until they talk. [Awarded - 4] ***
Meditation: [11/100] Jaq is no fool, and has already suffered a great deal because of magic. Among other things, Jaq has taken to meditating after using any magic. That is if he has the option. [Starting Package - 5, Awarded - 6] ***
Auristics: [8/100] Jaq learned perhaps a year ago that he could see Aura's out of his glass eye, though originally he had no control over when this would happen. Now, thanks to his mistake in overgiving, Jaq can see Aura's through both his eyes. He can also use this skill at will now, though it still starts up all on its own sometimes. It is noted that this usually happens near things magical, though sometimes it is just random bad luck. [Starting Package - 5, Awarded - 3] **
Drawing: [1/100] As an animator Jaq draws a lot of circles. [Awarded - 1] *
Singing: [3/100] As a user of personnel magic, Jaq chants to help focus his mind. Instead of the usual chanting crap other magi might use, Jaq instead sings. He is horribly tone deaf. [Awarded - 3] **
Blind fighting: [3/100] Jaq lost his eye even before he could wield his sword. Some of his training in the art of fighting included covering his blind side. [Awarded - 3] **
Summoning: [1/100] Jaq was taught a bit about summoning by a Nuit in Sahova named Roghon. In fact, Jaq was the one who had summoned Zagarek, his familiar. He does not know enough to perform a summoning without proper instruction. It is yet to be seen if he will seek any. [Awarded - 1] *
Tactics: [4/100] In a recent Adventure Jaq was given the opportunity to put his books smarts of past wars to use. [Awarded - 4] *
Wilderness Survival: [2/100] In a recent Adventure Jaq spent a great deal of time in wildlands, and one tends to pick up a thing or two there. [Awarded - 2] *
Leadership: [2/100] In a recent Adventure Jaq was put in charge of 14 other mercenaries. He is of the mind set that a good leader must be willing to do what he asks others to do. [Awarded - 2] *

Items of the Arcane

Magical Item Thread Acquired Description Magical Properties How it was Acquired
Memoria Forging a Memory Katana Golem Memoria has a glass ball at the end of its handle that lets it see, and when this glass ball see's any drawn blade, except for the ones drawn by the list of Allies given to it, it will shake. As a precaution Jaq set it to shake only when its in its sheathe. It also doesn't shake for weapons drawn from a small list of Allies Jaq taught it through memory. He can add to this list either by memory in an animation circle with the golem on temporary shutdown, or by having someone else hold the sword and calling them an ally. It is set to only draw for Jaq and no one else. It is also programed to turn off its shaking when Jaq say's 'Settle Down.' and to turn back on the shaking when Jaq says 'Stay Alert'. This does not work for other people. Jaq spent to days programming and testing this golem.
Grappling Hook Evening The odds Simple Golem It practically aims itself, almost. The rope and hook will also situate itself on the target branch, ledge, etc... by wrapping around it or hooking into it. It can also retract automatically. Jaq spent a day programming this with the assistance of a kelvic for the eyes
Manacles Evening The odds Simple Golem These manacles lock and unlock on Jaq's word. It was set to only obey Jaq's voice. When its locked by voice command, the key cannot unlock it. This might even prevent people from picking the lock, though Jaq has yet to test this. Jaq spent a day programming this Golem
25ft Rope Collaboration Simple Golem This length of rope has been animated with the purpose of wrapping around enemies upon hearing the phrases "now, stop him, wrap it up, bring him down." Upon hearing this phrase it will immediately attempt to wrap around an enemy. Jaq has to have careful timing with this, lest he say it to soon and the rope simply activate in mid-air. It will undo whatever hold it has upon hearing "undo, release him, let go." Jaq spent some time during the spring at Pavi Lake, practicing magic. This is one of the golems he made while practicing magic.
5ft Rope Collaboration Simple Golem This 5ft length of rope has been animated with the purpose of tying itself into one of several knots at a time. They are the Cat-paw, the Bowline, the half hitch, and the Monkey's Paw. Jaq did not animate it to untie the knots before tying a knew one, and learned the hard way that it could make such a mess. Jaq spent some time during the spring at Pavi Lake, practicing magic. This is one of the golems he made while practicing magic.

The Tale of the Mage Known as Jaq

If you were to go on looks alone, you could probably guess that Jaquise isn't just any ordinary guy. For instance one would wonder how he lost his eye. Another might question his pale pallor. Those who have seen him wield magic would wonder how someone so crude could have the discipline to learn such a dangerous skill, when he can barely keep himself from spending away his money on ale. The truth lies in Jaquise's past, in a story that is rarely told and even more rarely spoken truthfully. As all stories go, it is better to start at the beginning, but going all the way to the beginning would require a great deal of time. So we will simply start with the beginning of one Jaquise Emittere.

Jaquise was born in the Summer of 483 AV, during a particularly heavy drought. His father, Lord Sergane Emittere, was a renowned magi who had been called away by his job as a practitioner and adviser in most things magical in the Sylira Region. His mother was a much less talented magi, whose skills lay solely in creating illusions. His mother did not survive the birthing, and Jaquise was left in the care of his fathers servants until the mage returned.

ImageWhen Sergane returned home to find he was both a father and a widow, his reaction was severe. In an attempt to escape the loss of his wife Sergane through himself into his studies. It wasn't long until he made a pact with a familiar in an attempt to fill the void Jaquise's mother had left. It of course was entirely unsuccessful in doing so. But the friendship with the being from another world did help to return at least enough sense to Sergane to worry about his son, who had been raised and cared for by servants for the first six years of his life. Sergane saw that his own retreat had harmed his son, and in doing so he had done a disservice to his deceased wife. So Sergane sought to make things right. Of course he wasn't exactly experienced with raising a child, so Sergane spent his time teaching Jaquise the family trade and left the normal every day care to the servants. This brought about an unusual relationship that was more teacher and student, or master and apprentice then father and son. So it was that Jaquise had no one but maids and servants to comfort him, and few of them truly cared about the child beyond a professional manner.

This of course lead to a rather unique upbringing. Not because Sergane sought to raise his son to become what he himself was. Such a thing was common. A knight would train his son how to fight from a young age. A blacksmith's son would know how to use a hammer well before he held any interest in the fairer sex. It was the unique combination of both sword play and magic that left and impression on Jaquise. In the years where he was to young to wield Djed or a sword, Jaquise learned the history behind such things. By the time Jaquise was 12, he knew enough about the theory of magic and its uses in the past to be able to teach it. Of course theory and application are two very different things. So Jaquise was put through the ritual that would allow him to manipulate and control Res. His father presided.

Among those who go through the ritual, there are many that will brag about how little they felt in the way of pain or discomfort. It is Jaquise's personal opinion that they are all lying, or they all passed out. Pain is not the right word to describe what Jaquise felt. Agony comes closer but is still lacking. Were it not for the skill of his father, and the assistance of his fathers familiar, Jaquise might not have survived the ritual at all. Surviving doesn't always mean going unscathed. Jaquise had the pleasure of remaining conscious through the entire ritual and feel every second of agony pass as if it were a year. When Sergane finally removed the Res from Jaquise's body, his skin had turned the sickly pale color it is now. A week and a half later Jaquise was fully recovered, though his skin remained the same pale shade. Sergane was worried about his son, but Jaquise insisted that he was fine. In fact one could go as far as saying the pain he experienced then influences Jaquise to this day, keeping him from succumbing to the sweet whispers. He may not know what lies down that path, but he has an understanding of the kind of
pain magic could bring.

The next thing Jaquise was taught by his father was fighting. Sergane was well off enough to have gathered a decent collection of weapons. He was also quite skillful at fighting with several of them. On the day of Jaquise's 14th birthday, as a present, Sergane laid several of these weapons out and told Jaquise to pick one. "Pick any one of these weapons, and I shall teach you how to use it." This of course could not have made Jaquise happier, considering 14 is the age where one is starting to not only imagine but hope for a future and as most boys his included fighting heroically on the battlefield and go off on a quest to save a particularly beautiful damsel in distress. Unlike other boys though, Jaquise did not run over to the largest sword for his choice. He instead looked at each sword in turn and asked questions on the manners of their use. In the end Jaquise was having trouble deciding between a Rapier, whose intricate handle dazzled he eye and whose fine blade left the impression of importance. And a katana, whose curved form was both unique and fascinating to the studious Jaquise. When Jaquise chose, he lifted the blade up and turned dot his father. "I wish to wield this one." Sergane was surprised by his sons choice, but readily began lessons.

Not a year later, on his 15th birthday, Jaquise was working on an idea he had involving his Reimancy skill. He was no where near the point of being able to manage a second element, and his first was not the kind of element that would help in fighting. Having chosen wind, Jaquise had made a tactical decision to choose the element most readily acquired. Because he simply needed to draw the air from his environment, Jaquise did not spend nearly as much Djed creating the element, and could thus do more then others might be able.

His father would later tell him that it was the very temptation to do more that mages must learn to recognize and avoid should they ever want to remain sane and unscarred. At the moment though, Jaquise was to caught up in his idea to notice that he had given into that very temptation, and he paid for it. What he wanted to know is how affective could he make a small fire, if he were to draw nearly all the air away from the fire and suffocate it to the point of it dying, then flooding air back into it. While Jaquise was eager, he had at least been smart enough to not try this on anything like a fire place. Instead, Jaquise performed his experiment on a candle thinking it was safe. The experiment was a success, to much so. The explosive affect, combined with the close quarters and the Jaquise's nearness to the flame resulted in a hideous burn on his face. Jaquise was lucky a servant had been passing by his room.

With his connections and wealth Sergane was able to afford the best healer, and the burns healed and very little scarring. Jaquise's left eye though was burnt to much to heal, and Jaquise was left blind in one eye. Worse yet, and infection set in and it had to be removed. The entire event now serves as a painful reminder for Jaquise to be cautious when using magic. Being the fellow he is, Jaquise opted for a glass eye instead of an eye patch. Also being the fellow he is, Jaquise thought a golden glass eye was much more stylish then a simple fake version of his own.

The accident also had another side affect other then the loss of his eye, one that has only recently been noted. Apparently, only through the glass eye, Jaquise can see Aura's.

Jaquise's life has been anything but uneventful up until this point. But the question still remains, how did Jaquise, dreamer, scholar, and swordsman turn into the man he is today. What made him forgo the life he most certainly could have inherited from his respected father, and instead opt to live as a drunken mercenary selling his skills for a few gold mizas a job.

The answer can be found in the most well known and miss represented part of Jaquise's story. 16 is the age most set out on their own, but most do not study in the arts of magic. it wasn't until 18 that Jaquise moved out of his fathers home and began assisting in his work, and even then he still chose to learn what he could. By now their relationship, which had once been like a master and his apprentice, was now like a colleague and his friend. Also note that it was around this time that Jaquise planned on forming a pact with a familiar, one who came highly recommend by the very being who served as a tutor when his father had been called away for work. Sergane was to be the summoner.

Something went wrong in the summoning though, and what came through was not Jaquise's familiar to be, but something else. To this day Jaquise can not recall what the being looked like, only that he had been terrified by the very sight of it. This being escaped the circle and then the house. As it entered the streets it began reeking havoc on the people of It was only through the combined effort of Sergane and his familiar that subdued the being. People had died though and a law had been broken. Someone had to be held accountable and all thought they knew who was to blame. In his last and most selfless act as a father, Sergane took full responsibility for the incident, saying his son had nothing to do with the summoning. The people of the city accepted this, and instead of punishing the both of them, they only executed Sergane. The execution of such a well known Magi is not a frequent thing, though not for a lack of magic accidents, merely for a lack of magi themselves. Many attended, many cheered, and only a few weeped as the sword fell and Sergane's head followed.

ImageJaquise had grown to love his father, through all the flaws and mistakes. Losing Sergane was enough to make him angry. The fact that Sergane had died doing something him, just like his mom had died, made him depressed. And so for the first time in his life, Jaquise forgoes his practice and gets roaring drunk instead. He was never really sure what happened that night, but the headache he had the next day told him it was at least eventful.

Jaquise moved back to his father's home, hoping to continue Sergane's work. The first thing he did was try and make contact with those who had hired his father before to tell them what he was doing. The list was long and included both nobles and peasants. Messages were sent to those to far to speak to face to face. To those he could meet, Jaquise went to their homes or workplaces in hopes of reaching them. Those who did not avoid or run away from him told him they would no longer be needing his services. Days turned into weeks and Jaquise only received a few responses to his messages. The messages were very similar to what he had been told by those he had met. They no longer needed his services and did not foresee a future in which they would. No apologies, no condolences. Jaquise realized what it was about, he was no ones fool, and he hated it. For all the good his father had done these people only thought of the one mistake he had made. The man's son couldn't be any better. Hell even those few customers Jaquise had found on his own wanted nothing to do with him. It was sickening.

Again Jaquise retreated into the cup, though not as heavily as the first time. The result was a fun night of off tune singing, card games, and stories of the fish that got away. Jaquise still had a hangover the next morning, even though he had shown more control. At least this one was accompanied with good memories. Most of the people he had been drinking with had been mercenaries, and they had been in town only for a short while. So either they knew who Jaquise was and didn't care or they didn't know. It gave him hope that there was people out there willing to accept them, even if took some ale to loosen them up.

With no business Jaquise began to make cut backs on spending. The first thing to go was the servants, those that hadn't left already after the mishap with the summoning. A few said good buys and one even wished him good luck, but all left. Next went the horse and carriage his father had, as well as the the rent for stabling the horse. Jaquise rarely used it anyway so it was no great lost. In the end though, Jaquise was forced to sell the items that cluttered the home, ranging from books to weapons, to random artifacts originating the world over. Then, all that was left to sell was the house, and it just barely covered the debt he had incurred trying traveling to make new customers, as well as pay a weekly tax for the repairs to whatever had been damaged by the beast that had come through the circle.

Eventually Jaquise had found some work as a day laborer, lugging heavy items here and there. It was enough to pay for rent, though finding a place that would take him in was hard, and even then he knew he was getting cheated with the price. One day Jaquise was at the same bar, once again trying to forget about his problems, when a few of the members of the mercenary group he had partied with showed up at the bar. They recognized him and with smiles and laughed joined him at his table. Jaquise tried to return the smile, but these men were smart enough to see through it. After listening to Jaquise complain a little they looked at each other for a moment then back to him. "If your as good as you say with a sword and magic. Why not join up with a mercenary group. Battle mage's are all the rage now a days. Hell, we might even have an opening. What do ya say Jaq? Join up with us and live the life."

At first Jaquise only thought to correct them about his name. Through the night though the idea began to grow on him. A mercenary. Jaquise could just imagine the life he'd lead, and since he was still young enough that the danger of combat was as exciting as it was terrifying the thoughts of battles only seemed to make him think about it more. By the time he left the bar, Jaquise was asking where he could meet them and when they were leaving. They answered, apparently quite sober even though they downed more then he had, then went off on their way singing a drunken tune.

Jaquise went to his apartment and quickly gathered what little he had. It wasn't much, but he had enough gold mizas left over to buy himself another sword the next day. Of course he only knew how to use a katana, so he spent the next day searching high and low for a smith who had one made already. In the end all told him the same, such blades were rare orders and often custom fitted. Jaquise didn't have the time to wait for a custom fitted sword though, as the mercenaries were leaving the next day. It was then when he almost gave up that he came across a merchant selling antiques, items of age and even a few of value. Among them was an old katana, with a wooden sheath and handle. Both were nicked and scuffed and the guard itself was in poor shape. Jaquise picked up the sword and unsheathed it to inspect the blade and was pleasantly surprised. While the sword was obviously old and worn, its blade was well cared for and slipped easily in and out of the sheath. The merchant tried to charge Jaquise 200 gold mizas, saying it was a valuable and priceless antique. Jaquise tried to knock the peg down to 50 gold mizas by telling the merchant an antique in such bad condition was not worth full price. The merchant and Jaquise haggled for over an hour throwing counter offers and tidbits of facts and lies at each other until they settled right in the middle at 100 gold mizas. Jaquise grudgingly paid and left. The merchant was not much happier about the deal but had still made a profit.

The next day, Jaquise was gone. He had said no goodbyes, told no one he was leaving, and had failed to mention where he might be going. Those few who noticed his departure breathed a sigh of relief. One less magic user to worry about.

Its wasn't until four years later that someone worth listening to had seen Jaquise. It was in a tavern, go figure, in Riverfall. It was said that he was wearing mostly black, with some metal rings on parts of his clothing. His jacket had a gray boarder, and he was wearing a broad rimmed black hat. Still the golden glass eye and pale skin were to hard to miss. The man was an old acquaintance of Sergane and had been a customer of the mage, frequently inquiring about older artifacts and their use in magic. The merchant, having never really cared for the way others had treated Sergane's end, tried to strike up a conversation with Jaquise. It was several minutes before the man in black turned to the merchant, and in an a voice a great deal rougher then the merchant remembered Jaquise having, wearing a grin that said this man knew to much about the world at his age, the man responded, "Sorry mate, ain't no one here by that name. I'm Jaq. You looking to hire a sword arm? I'm the best around. And I'll let you in on a little secret yeah? I can do magic."

Who Jaq Know's

NPC's

Relatives

Segrane Emittere
Image
Status: Deceased
Relation: Father
Location: Syliras

Physical Description:
6'4 ft in height Sergane was taller then the average man, yet to those who saw him he was more then tall, he was a giant. Well muscled and moving with the confidence of a warrior Sergane was certainly an intimidating site to fall upon in even the most normal of situations. One must wonder what those he fought saw. He had a squared features that usually remained impassive, but were capable of showing both great happiness and great sorrow. The white coloring to his hair had been with him since the time he was initiated as a Reimancer. Like his son, the ceremony was quite painful for him and the magic played tricks with his body. It did not streak his hair white that very day, but rather it began growing in from that day forward as a solid white color. He favored a long coat and plain white shirt underneath. On a belt across his waist he carried a longsword. Being skilled at many weapons, Sergane favored this simple weapon for its versatility in battle.

Character Description:
Sergane was the one who taught Jaq everything he knows about magic. He was quite good in many types of magic including Voiding, Auristics, Flux, Glyphing, hypnotism and Animation. He favored most of all though Reimnancy, possibly reaching the skill of master. Where he had learned all these skills Jaq never heard, and even when pressed Sergane would never answer. Though not as skilled in summoning as he was in his other talents, he had hoped to gift to his son a familiar at the age of 18. The summoning was successful, though it was not the familiar he was successful in bringing over. To this day the only living witness to have seen the beast cannot remember what it looks like. A man of action Sergane stopped the beast with the aid of his familiar Raziel. Then, as his last act as a father, Jaq in his drunken stupor sometimes thinks of it as the man's first as well, proclaimed to the knights of Syliras that he was the only one involved in the summoning, perhaps saving his son from the same fate he would suffer. The public execution that followed was attended by many, though most cheered the death of a dangerous user of magic.

Laura Emittere
Image
Status: Deceased
Relation: Mother
Location: Syliras

Physical Description:
Jaq's mother Laura had died young, so she she had retained her beauty even onto death. Standing at 5'8, Laura had long raven black hair that reached the small of her back, contrasting her husbands white hair quite nicely. It was from Laura that Jaq inherited his facial structure. She had hawkish features that on Jaq look a bit odd but on her were captivating. Laura had cold blue eyes.

Character Description:
Jaq has heard little about his mother and most of what he has heard came from his father, who even in his final day's yearned after her. What little Jaq knows is that Laura was a competent hypnotist who used to use her skills to steal from people. When she was a child it had been for pickpocketing, but she inevitably stepped her targets up to homes, then merchants. Sergane spoke of how they had first met, saying it was one of the first times he had been employed to hunt down another magic user. It had been love at first sight for the wizard and he had done everything he could to convince her to give up her life of crime, but for Laura it had taken several confrontations, all in which she would escape thanks to her hypnotism and Sergane's weakness to that particular branch of magic, before she began to return the man's feelings. Sergane was proud that he had eventually won her heart, but would speak of little else after that.

Allies

Zagarek

Physical Description:
Normal form:
Image
In his normal form Zagarek is a small floating orb of what appears to be reflective ice. Jaq is unsure how it works exactly, but Zagarek has said that he can see anything that reflects off him. He has shown several times his vision's acuity though, so Jaq has little reason to doubt him at this point.

Sealed Form:
Image
In his sealed form Zagarek appears to be little more then a small reflective bead hanging from a string. Usually Zagarek will remain outside of Jaq's shirt, but in battle he will switch between hanging from Jaq's neck and giving the warrior warnings of attacks from behind, or hiding behind Jaq's chain mail shirt for protection. The reflective nature of this form allows Zagarek to see what Jaq's body does not block, which means he is often keeping watch even when the Wizard is not.

Character Description:
Zagarek is a mystery to Jaq. What little he knows of the familiar is a bit disconcerting. The being seems more about logic and thought then emotions. Were Jaq to risk his life or saftey for another, Zagarek would more then likely not approve. At the moment they seemed to have reached an understanding, where Jaq will be careful to remember that its not only his life that he risk's anymore. The instance has yet to come to test this.
